I've been playing it myself and I've been really enjoying it! I've had the Russian voice acting which is solid, and it isn't perfect by far, but it's the Bioshock Infinite I really wanted (the gameplay of that game destroyed the enjoyment of it for me)

Playing this currently on PC on Games Pass. It seemed to get a bit of flak at launch, but I mainly started playing the game this week, whilst on leave, and I'm having a blast.

The protagonist understandably is criticized for being a bit of an annoying jerk, who's forever whining at his high tech sidekick glove. However the sheer zaniness and creativity in designing the mostly open world environment easily makes up for this. Give it a try. (edited)

I too thought the protagonist was a bit of a d*bag and was ready to write it off (and actually just switched to the Russian voices, but later turned it back because it was hard to read and play the game at same time ) I persevered through his annoyingness and it seemed to get better. I thought the game was fantastic in the end and would gladly get the sequel when it comes out.

Don't Buy it. If you have it on gamepass thats about it and see if you like it.

My lad was well hyped for this and when he played it he though it was very meh to say the least very disappointed. Short game strung out for ages with bad game design from the off.

He loves story games and even if average ones he does complete them still but this one he gave up said the character was annoying beyond believe, story was poor and the respawning just screwed up the game.

I had a little go on it and it has a bit of flare to it but so much more wrong with it.

I'm preferring it to the Bioshock series myself (heresy, I know, but then I enjoyed System Shock 2 more than them also). I just prefer this time period/setting and it's overall cheesiness. I've got over the protagonist's frequent whining too. I personally think the game comes to life after the train bit, when you're free to roam around. I explored several testing grounds before committing to getting past Hedgie which I struggled with initially. Loving the soundtrack too.

This is a great game you turn down the voice sounds and it’s even better if you like bioshock or dishonoured it’s very similar

Played this on Gamepass and it was very disappointing. If you are looking for a similar action / story game with guns and melee I suggest you pickup Callisto protocol (about 20 quid) and play on Easy difficulty (it isn’t easy and the less bad guys make the melee far more enjoyable!

This dropping on GamePass allowed me to play this without spending any extra money on it, which I'm grateful for (I tend to get games on PS5, and this has a really cool alt future setting, visual style etc).
I found some graphical glitches (standard), but the protagonist was really annoying, jarringly so. Put me off continuing it tbh.
    £35 still seems steep.
