ELEMENT IQ® PLATE DESIGN

With 2400W heating elements embedded into the plates, not underneath them, and an electronic thermostat to quickly sense even small movements in temperatures, this grill cooks and sears steaks with consistent high heat. The stable high heat from the 2400W embedded heating elements reduce preheating and cooking time so you can get right to the task

SMART SETTINGS WITH REST INDICATOR

5 settings including beef, lamb, pork, poultry and fish have programmed temperatures for your chosen doneness and indicate when it's time to take off to rest. Probe is linked with LCD settings so you can select the doneness you want and the product will tell you when your food is at the correct temperature, whether you are resting your meat or not.

TEMPERATURE PROBE

"An integrated probe measures the precise temperature of your meat and electronically feeds back information to the LCD and indicates when it is time to take off to rest. Five meat settings have programmed temperatures from rare to well done."

OPEN FLAT BBQ MODE

"Open the grill flat for a 260 square inch grilling and griddle surface. Makes grilling seafood or steak a cinch and griddles eggs and pancakes to perfection, so think big. Removable drip tray works in BBQ or contact mode."

REMOVABLE PLATES

Removable, PFOA-free plates ensures you can just pop them out for an easy, convenient hand wash.

Does this cook hot enough to cook a steak or is a skillet on the gas/electric hob going to be unsurpassed!? Thanks in advance.

I have their other (in my opinion better) version with interchangeable waffle plates. Yes it does do steak well.
Easy to get a good sear

    Bad reviews!

Nice bit of kit but overkill for me. Typical I have been waiting for an offer on a decent grill during prime days and there has been the George Foreman one that was too basic and then there is this that is above what I need.

Same. Gonna eye up the Tefals I think. They bounce up and down in price, like this with 43% off.

Tefal OptiGrill+ GC713D40 Intelligent Health Grill, 6 Automatic Settings, Stainless Steel, 2000W, 4-6 Portions amzn.eu/1r7ap4F NOTE XL is same price.

Edit. I’ve gone with the normal size one, but with the snacking tray for a fiver more. Small pizza/cake bake etc. (edited)

The non-stick plates don't last very long on these and are out of stock for months on end if you want to replace them.
