This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Nice freebie offering for this amazing game - If you own a copy of The Witcher 3 on PS4 or Xbox One (or a different PC storefront) you can now claim a DRM-free copy of the RPG through GOG. All you have to do is use the GOG Galaxy client to connect to whichever platform you currently own The Witcher 3 on and follow the instructions.

This offer applies to both the physical and digital versions, so, theoretically, you could borrow a disc copy from a friend and nab a free PC copy. As long as there's evidence of The Witcher 3 somewhere in your library then you're eligible.

  • If you already own The Witcher 3 on GOG and another platform, you'll receive a giftable code for the game, which is valid for a week.
  • If you have installed The Witcher 3 from Xbox Game Pass you can also claim the game for free.
  • GOG Galaxy will import game progress you've already made in The Witcher 3, such as achievements and game time.
  • Unfortunately, Nintendo Switch owners aren't eligible for the offer (as GOG Galaxy 2.0 doesn't have Switch integration)
  • Offer expires on June 23rd.

Even if you have no intention of playing the game again, the deal is still worth snagging if only for all the goodies that come with the GOG.com version! These freebies include the official Witcher 3 soundtrack (MP3 and FLAC), wallpapers, digital artbook, comics, and more

You technically don't own it on Gamepass so highly doubt it

Heat, OP. This is an amazing giveaway from CD Projekt. Saves people money who have been thinking of double dipping and prefer the PC version over the console version they purchased (e.g. This guy).
what if i want the steam version and have the gog version

You buy it on Steam.
What about save files from PS4 to GOG? Don't fancy starting again!
Awesome!

At the moment the only cross saves supported are between PC and Nintendo Switch.

Shamefully have to admit this game is part of my "to play" pile but I'm gonna have to change that now

The official page on GOG states:

GOG GALAXY 2.0 will also import the game progress you’ve already made in The Witcher 3, like achievements and game time.

... dare I hope that means save game progression too?? (unlikely, I know...)
I don't own it. Any way for me to get this?
Does it have to be digital Witcher 3 or can ps4 cd count?

Will boot up the laptop shortly to check

I'll be chuffed about this, if so. The performance boost from PS4 base to pc should be good.

Wow even for Xbox and PS4, that is very generous.

Letting CDPR have access to all those accounts isn't something I feel comfortable doing (I just use their Galaxy 2.0 for their own games though)...if the account gets compromised, it will be a major headache getting ownership back from 5+ accounts.

Interested to know this too, they said it counts on Twitter but didn't clarify if it's digital only.

edit: They said it should work.

Steam did something similar with Portal 2 console versions. As soon as I realised that my PC could outperform the console, I switched to PC and haven't looked back. The very end of the console generation is when this is most apparent as a low to midrange gaming PC will outperform a console.

Oh you have SO MUCH to enjoy

I'm barely a quarter of the way through and I'm already fearful of the void it'll leave when I'm done.

My game of the decade, even this early on in my playthrough
I downloaded galaxy 2.0 and it tells me my total time played the last 30 days across all platforms was 200 hours.. I regret it

Haha
I thought you could always do this with GOG connect?
If that is still up but without TW3 then still use it as you can get quite a few games like Saints Row games and stuff

I don't think that will happen next gen, now that they've targeted higher spec baseline specs than the last couple of generations did

Been playing it last night after a year off (got bit bored of the hit and roll combat 130hours in!),, I probably got distracted by too many side missions and contracts. Just doing the mission where witcher and his 2 mates getting p*ssed up looking to wear Yen's clothes think (hope) I'm getting towards the end now.

I have enjoyed the game, but now its at a point where I am with shadow of war and now just want it over so I can start on outer worlds and RDR2 before they leave gamepass.
Heat but little upset I just bought it in sale if id knowing I would of waited with owning on ps4
Doesn’t seem like I can get the GOTY edition, despite owning the game and all dlc. I bought the game on launch for PS4, and the season pass a year later. Oh well.

Other than the obvious GOG catalogue, I've got Steam and Xbox connected. Both have 2FA on the accounts. It's not really something I've considered if I'm honest, or would really worry about. I understand the concern, though.

Tbf I'm also thinking about RDR 2 for that reason. Outer Worlds is... Okay
Currently struggling to get PSN account linked "Connection timed out". Great deal though!
