On the PSU Tier List, it's currently:

    Tier F • Replace immediately

Link for people to check why this isnt worth buying, and to try find something that is.

Please don’t buy this. Horrible PSU which was in my prebuilt from palicomp. I was a relative noob at the time to computer components and had no idea why my computer blackscreened at high Gpu/cpu usage, even though relatively low wattage components. Turns out it was this horrible PSU. Thermaltake are known for their terrible PSUs bar a few (GF1/3 - even though they’ve tried to switch manufacturing on the GF1). Would not go anywhere near this. Should be definitely not be front page.
This is also garbage tier on the infamous list “ Replace immediately”

    TLDR: DO NOT BUY.

That's the problem with a lot of these sub £800 prebuilds, Palicomp are awful for it, but not alone. They cheap out on parts to make an attractive headline price, once you switch out the cheap PSU, slow ram and base mobo you end up with a much less attractive proposition.

PSUs are not something to cheap out on (this isnt even cheap, its just crap) A 10 second look should make you buy the MSI MAG* instead hotukdeals.com/dea…59/ which is tier C, not brilliant, but far far better than this.

*You may do better than that with a bit of research too

I struggle to understand why they bother to put rgb on a fan which in most cases is facing down underneath the pc and if it is facing up, on most pc cases the fan is not visible

That's because you're using common sense. The product designers think if they put RGB on everything, it'll sell better. To you and I, we just think we'd rather have a better PSU than one with RGB, as it's not like it's even visible.

far too expensive for what is a very budget quality .

Thanks , it's not a PSU I'd recommend (nor supplier) but if it's something someone wants, it's a good price so a good deal. One for the low power RGBling crew for sure!

    It's not even 80+ Bronze, it's just 80+

Those ratings don't mean much mostly marketing.

What would you recommend from a similar price range?

Jesus, 504W on a 12v rail!!! I would not touch this with a barge pole, this is barely 80+.

For example, this 80+ white PSU from EVGA is rated at 588W on 12V rail.(amazon.co.uk/gp/…h=1)
