From my experience not very reliable , one died within 3 months.TP advise you to knock them about a bit to get them working again, didn't work for me.

Step one of faulty finding.... Shake it and plug it back in again 😳 (clearing dust from micro switch)

Be warned that is the item becomes faulty TP-LINK will insist that you send them the item at your own cost and then they will send you a replacement. For something that's worth less than £10ea you may end sending it back at a higher cost. Mine lasted just 9 months before refusing to stop electricity being put through. Oh and I hear the privacy policy that comes with the app says it'captures information about you beyond what's needed for the plug/camera.

Absolute garbage products. Get an amazon smart plug and avoid loads of grief 😔

I've got nine of these energy monitoring plugs (P110) and one standard smart plug (P100). I've had all of them for over six months now, and they're all running fine. However, In my experience, you need good wifi for these not to drop out. I had connectivity issues until I beefed up my mesh wifi.

As others have already mentioned, these are known to develop relay issues many months later, which they should have addressed a long time ago or at least stop selling them altogether until they do. Some are still looking for a fix, an example here community.tp-link.com/en/…344 (edited)

Argos seems to be selling the 2 pack for £17.99 too. Amazon £16.99 (edited)

    These aren’t HomeKit are they?

We"ve been using 2 of these for almost a year, and there are no problems at all. I hope it stays that way.

The marketing says local control, is that new? I remember these needing a Internet connection to their servers to switch on/off.

I read that many have had problems with this device. I personally have not experienced it (and I wish not to), but are there any other brands that are more reliable and have the energy monitoring features you can recommend, please?

    Thank you.

I had one about four months back and had no issues. I have used it on a number of things especially monitoring the energy use of an AC unit. I liked that one so much I snaped up the 4 pack when on offer.
