There's a few bad reviews of them melting, worth a read before buying. It put me off.

Why not just use regular AA rechargables instead of these proprietary ones?

It depends what features you favour, but for £12 you can get 4 IKEA LADDA 2,450 mAh batteries and one of their STENKOL chargers. The batteries are rebadged Eneloop Pros and will give you much more play time in between charges than the Venom power packs. The charger is basic, but if you only want to charge AAs, it's fine.

What always lets these power packs down (and most controllers with built-in rechargeable batteries) is the low mAh rating. I don't really understand the argument in favour of built-in rechargeable batteries in controllers when, for example, Sony's new £210 controller has just 6 hours of battery life. I get 25-30 hours from a pair of IKEA LADDA batteries with my first gen Elite controller, and if the batteries run low, I can quickly swap them out for a fresh pair. I never have to use my controller wired. I much prefer MS's approach in giving people choice.

Unless i'm mistaken this is a poor product creation to be more convenient on charging.

800MAH battery when 2 AA rechargables can be 2400MAH each, thus needing to be charged much less, to save ewaste it be better looking into a USB to 2 double aa charger to have plugged into console instead if was that bothered

I only need to change every week or so, I have a big stash of ready to go rechargables

Some people just want to be able to plug in a USB C cable and be done with it. I get the argument for rechargeables, but can also see why convenience is preferable to most.

There's a reason why every single other controller manufacturer includes a rechargeable battery.

Never buy venom products! Back in the day my brother bought a venom charging station for his wii remotes and the charger broke them! The quality might've changed since then (This was back in 2006) but I'm still afraid of using them. (edited)

Heh reminds me I had an "extended" battery about 2015ish for nintendo 3ds, cracked it open to find a lithium cell about 1/2 rated size of the original battery and a bit of pot metal for weight. Hopefully they're less scammy and more genuine

Its not a bad price but I just use standard rechargable AA with 4 battery wall charger

So many AA rechargeable deals on Amazon

This looks like the best option because it comes with 4 batteries and the charger that plugs into the xbox

Got some of these off of eBay a while back. Worth it for the long cable as can play wired while charging your controllers. A couple were not charging so contacted I the company and sent new ones. Overall good but I personally prefer high power rechargeable batteries. Handy to have both options though.

Tbh I opted for a £10 version that has the steel connectors on the back. Just sit the pads on them and they charge while you chill plus they're more than capable of a days gaming 👌

I lucked out in B&M mind you haha

These are an absolute waste of money. I bought one a year ago and I end up playing with the cable in at the moment. They hold a charge for very little time. Never show as fully charged. Better of buying a better battery pack or just use AA batteries.

They sell these in B&M. I'm sure they're cheaper too. Even at the same price, at least you can take them back if there's a problem. I had a set for a year before one of the batteries died (regularly used). The other one is still going.
