If they start following a yearly cycle then the next one will be along in 4 months ish, but its not set in stone yet. If I was a betting man I'd say April

Hot hot hot. Thanks for posting.

Good find

I think next generation is due approx Q2 2016. I'm keen to get an Apple Watch having had Android wear and now moved to iOS but the battery life of the first generation product has really put me off. For most people, I would recommend you wait to see how the next generation turns out as I would expect some fairly large steps forward in performance. Voted hot though because it's a solid price for the product.

Based on what this website is about this is most certainly a hot deal. However many people will vote on the product etc. For the record I don't think Smartwatches are really that useful yet, that and their short battery life makes them a no go for me just yet.

Have some heat.

I'd agree - I only use a smartwatch for the notifications and things at a glance (like stock prices and weather on the default clock face). The apps are truly the worst thing ever on the Apple Watch - and I cannot believe they haven't been slammed for it more in reviews; I don't know a single person who uses the apps on the watch over their actual phone because they take an eternity to load.

I got battered on an Apple Watch deal last night night so have some heat. 5 pounds more than my deal but 2 year guarantee and John Lewis easy returns policy it's deffo hot in here. Not that it will change the mind of the angry apple haters

Tempting, but I'm going to wait and see how much of an improvement the next gen is.

Went for it, thanks for posting. Been debating for some time and decided to go for it. 2nd generation will no doubt be a big improvement but will still cost considerably more. Plus it'll be out of date within a few weeks, as is most technology you buy these days!

Thanks, good points!

can't convince myself to buy one, will wait for next gen

I use for notifications, but still use the phone to reply for emails/texts etc, so limited use in that way. I use the fitness app in the gym but other than that..some apps that have great potential but just lack the functionality to make them useful in the current configuration

People like this wouldn't have anything to moan about if it wasn't for Apple.

Too slow. Wait for gen 2 or 3 for a decent model and one with GPS.

Then you'll have something worth spending your cash on.

At the moment you're being mugged. I've been an 'Apple guy' for over 30 years and I know a cynical product from Apple when I see one.

Still overpriced!

Ah, the old sheep brigade. I'm not a fan of the term, but I'd argue that you're more sheepy, because you can't just ignore a deal that you're not interested in. You feel the need to pop in and post childish comments.

It's not like you're even offering any constructive criticism.

I should have probably ignored you and not given you the attention you crave, but it's done now.

Never buy a first gen Apple product

IWatch2 due out some time in March according to the MacRumors website. While it may deter some from buying the watch it shouldn't detract from the fact that this is a great offer currently.

This is going to be red hot

Had Android Wear for over a year now, feel naked without my G Watch R - you don't know what you're missing till you use one. That said the Apple watch of what I've compared with my friends to mine is a more show than go over Android currently and not worth the ridiculous asking price.

You can use your Android Wear on iOS, in case you didn't know.

intrigued to get one but I get annoyed with charging my phone every day, never mind my watch too

Against my better judgement, ordered one for my sons X-Mas. Thanks OP

Yeah possibly, I have had three Android smartwatches now and all have been returned / sold within a few weeks. The battery life for me was the killer, to have something else to charge everyday was just a pain in the proverbial - whilst I appreciate everyone is different in their needs etc. for me they just don't cut it yet. Being sad... I am desperate for them to appease me, I love gadgets BUT it has to offer some sort of benefit to me as opposed to just being for show.

I don't get it?? is there a demand for these kind of products or do they just make them and then create the demand?? personally I don't see the fascination.

I love look of the watch, but, battery life, compatibility, voting hot, but come on these smart watches need to be better

It's no biggie for me to take my watch off every night, used to with a normal watch after whacking myself in the face whilst sleeping wearing one too many times....

It just becomes routine along with charging the phone and the tablet.

John Lewis really are the best - 2 year guarantee, superb customer service and genuinely never knowingly undersold. They just refunded me £50 on my watch as the price has now gone down. I am so glad I bought it from them. Voted hot for the deal, but mainly because it's a deal from John Lewis.

I was sceptical until the other half got me one for my birthday and I certainly miss it when I'm not wearing it. I get 2 days out of the battery and useful for checking notifications, weather, emails, texts etc quickly. Like others have said the apps are pretty ass and useless.

To be fare, 'watch' is a secondary after thought. Its a wrist wearable iPod.

But, aye.
