Black PS4s matter.
We go to work and pay our own way
Of course it doesn't, white PS4 Pro just looks nicer. If you want power get a PC. Xbox One X is a joke still 30fps in most games and only very few games are native 4k. Most games still uses checkerboard and other stuff
Sony were thinking that they would spend more of their money on having a portfolio of quality developers making games only for their machine. That and how expensive consoles don't sell well no matter how powerful you keep saying it is. They learned that one with PS3.
People are seriously overestimating the impact 4K gaming will have on the industry in the near future. Based on PS4 Pro, Xbox One X will only sell a few million units a year at best. While Sony and Nintendo chuck out 15 million plus of their standard hardware offerings in the same time period.
By the time 4K is actually mainstream and a 4K console becomes the best selling console, Xbox One X will be a distant memory and we'll be onto another generation entirely.
did you feel the same way when microsoft released the xbox one? maybe they should have waited an extra year to release a new gen console to match the ps4?. Ps4 pro is a 4k capable machine along with the xbox one x in the same line the xbox one is a 1080p machine along with the ps4.
Agreed with both. I much rather have a £600 PC and and play all games at 1080p 60FPS and have access to the few Microsoft first party games. Then if money allows it have a PS4 and/or a Switch for the quality exclusive games. Lucky for me I have a GTX 1080ti so I can play games at native 4K 60FPS. But to be honest the jump from 1080p to 4K has not been all that impressive. 720p to 1080p on the other hand was amazing.
It will if you put your ruby slippers on and click your heels together 3 times (edited)
Same as the PS4 Pro then. But not every game will allow 60FPS. Like Skyrim I much rather play that at 1080p 60FPS than native 4K 30fps same with Destiny 2. If I was in the hunt to buy a system to play games on. Then it would save that extra £150 and instead of buying an Xbox One X. Get a decent PC that would play pretty much all titles at 60FPS and not have to pay for Xbox Live or PS+ to enjoy the online side of things.
+1 for saving me a comment!
If you're that bothered why don't you switch to PC?
Then you will be shelling out this kind of money and more for a new video card every year
I think Sony did well, by the time the Xbox One X gains any momentum a new Playstation console will be announced i expect.
Hope we see some decent exclusives, and not just Microsoft throwing cash at studios to gain exclusivity rights to games which are normally multi platform
mostly greyish tbh but i'm with you!
You can't compare PC hardware specs to a dedicated gaming console directly as you're doing.
PC doesn't have as much low-level efficiency as a console. there are lots of overheads a PC has to burden.
As an example, a PC with the specs you suggest would struggle to run PS4 Pro enhanced Uncharted 4
Also, 16gb of DDR ram doesn't equate to 8gb of GDDR
Furthermore, a PC consists of a lot more than just a CPU, GPU and RAM, Is typically bulky and as portable as your kitchen sink
A rig 4 years ago for this setup would have cost you well over 1k, the PS4 Pro is a year old now and mine cost me £299
Consoles hook up, put in a disc and off you go. No messing with settings, drivers hardware conflicts etc etc it can be a big headache (edited)
Then you possibly misunderstood where I was going with it. I was trying to rationalise what I think Sony's strategy might be with the chap I commented to initially.
He felt that Sony weren't being smart about it. I'm thinking to the contrary. I think Sony know exactly what they're doing and they've likely watched the working strategy that Apple adopt with IOS where they have a good few years of iterative upgrades that are still supported and to some degree backwards compatible before you ultimately have to part ways on the grounds of too much obsolescence i.e. Iphone 4S.
Before I start sounding like an Apple fan by the way....I'm ambivalent on phone brand. I use both Samsung and Apple devices.
Ok I concede that right now Sony haven't much history with backwards compatibility but here's hoping that that changes - so I don't have to sell my PS4 games that I haven't finished yet (or played )when I ultimately buy the PS5
*Nevermind, I just noticed your profile pic (edited)
