Set out for adventure once again in this unique new game in the beloved The Legend of Zelda franchise, built exclusively for the Wii U platform.

2848585.jpg
The newest game in The Legend of Zelda franchise, scheduled for 2015, introduces the first truly open world in a game from the series. Players can roam Hyrule Field or set off on a trek to distant mountains if they prefer. Players can get to any area they can see from virtually any direction. That's one of the ways the game breaks with franchise norms and introduces new ways to play.

So here's a question. I'm ready to take my next step with the Switch. I have Mario Odyssey and Rabbids Kingdom Battle ( )

Which route should I take in terms of a bit of open world? This or Xenoblade Chronicles 2? I know Zelda is extremely highly regarded, and I've watched videos on both. But I'd like to hear opinions, although I kind of know what's coming.

I know I’ll fall in minority but if I ever had a switch that would have been for the sake of playing Xenoblade. Maybe because I prefer JRPGs over anything but let’s be frank, you’d need to buy them both at some point so what are you bargaining about?

Ya... As Mixi says, you need both. Eventually.

Not that I'd ever buy a Switch, mind. The ends just doesn't justify the means...

Still got til December 16th to top up £20 at PayPoint and get extra £5 free hotukdeals.com/dea…133 to use by end of December

The Switch was a 'don't you dare' purchase after a few beers. It's still not a good idea to mention it in the house, to be honest. I'd probably be on the parents couch for Christmas if I even contemplated purchasing both this side of the New Year So I really need pushing towards one.

People say that Zelda is the Game of ALL Time. They're wrong. Obviously. But if I had a Switch, I'd buy Zelda...

Xenoblade is... nice? Better RPG games out there in existence, on other formats. Take that as you will.

I have just put on Xenoblade today for the first time. I got about 2 hours in, so far it seems a good game. The voices are something to get used to, a lot of people are switching to Japanese to escape it. The Welsh voice for Nia just seems soo out of place it's unreal. Nothing big has stood out to me in the first 2 hours of playing.

I'm a big fan of Zelda in general, so this opinion may be looked at as biased. However, it's hard to even compare the 2 at this stage. Zelda in my opinion hands down beats any game on the Switch by a country mile. Zelda is amazing from start to finish, so to answer your question.... Zelda, 100%.

Buzz I'd suggest Zelda, it's such good value when you consider the vast amount of game-play included: I've had over 200 hours out it so far and still haven't got 100% of the shrines and side quests. On top of that, it really is one of the best games ever made!

Goron Hot Spring heat levels!

Wouldn't bother buying from amazon as they'll not give you a delivery date, and then 2 weeks later lie and say it was never in stock and refuse to do anything to help , even though you've got chat transcripts from the 2x you've contacted them about it after the order, and both times were promised 2 days for a delivery date

I'd go for Zelda over the holidays, it's 100hrs quite easily AND Xenoblade is apparently about 40 (which is still a decent amount) but if you're going to have a lot of time over the holidays Zelda at this point!

Buzz, you have tempted many of us toward those "don't you dare" purchases, and many of us have probably ended up sleeping on the sofa because of it. You won't find sympathy here

Zelda and get the explorers edition. It’s ace

For anyone who has Breath of the Wild and wants the (very hard to get cheaply) Wolf Link amiibo (it allows you to have the wolf run around with and fight with you in game), stock has been coming in and out all day today, so if it goes out again tomorrow keep checking:

Yes if if you got it with Twilight Princess and used it then you can get an extra heart for it when you use it in a Breath of the Wild I think

Do you prefer big anime tiddies or big fairy tiddies? Either way switch is seriously full of ginormous tiddies.

You have a Switch and you haven’t played Zelda? Please tell me you’re joking. Only the best game ever made

Zelda all the way for me. Played Xenoblade 1 on Wii U and couldn't get on with it, but that's totally personally taste.

Zelda is much more accessible and in the top 5 games I've ever played. It really is that good.

There are several reasons why BotW massively outscores Xenoblade 2 on metacritic. Xenoblade appeals to a niche with boring auto-attack combat.

BuzzDuraband4 h, 38 m ago

I've had it a week.

I can help!
Just got mine this week too. Bought both games, but had Zelda on Wii u. I was a bit of the way into it, but the switch versions portability had me crack and just re buy it (If I could transfer saves i would be thrilled but no dice...)
I think if you are a fan of JRPGs more, then Xenoblade 2. I'm kinda into them, but this is pushing it a bit. its gorgeous but the voices are a bit mad, and they shout their attack name as they do it etc. But its also more approachable than ones I've played in the past.
Zelda is amazing though. Theres a reason I've bought it again and willing to lose a 20 hr game to start from the beginning. If you have to choose one, I would recommend Zelda.

Come on Buzz, you know what to do..

Heat! Used my swagbucks vouchers that I've accumulated over the last couple weeks, so this game only cost me 5 quid. Thanks!

Whats performance of the Wii U version like?

Hard to compare really. If open world is the main attraction then you're best of considering Zelda or skyrim for the switch. Xenoblade is very JRPG...so you need to go into that expecting most JRPG traits.
Zelda's no doubt the best open world game on switch...and once you start playing it you'll understand just how open it is. No restrictions by invisible walls.

Go for Zelda. Can't own a switch without having played that. Also performs better in handheld mode than xeno.

Why the poo emoji after Mario + rabbids? That game is awesome. Perfect for switch.
