Quite expensive given how old the Switch is now and Switch 2 will be here in a year. It's extremely likely Switch 2 will play Switch 1 games too, so worth holding on if you can. Should Switch 2 be backwards compatible and portable like the Switch 1, you can bet Switch 1 consoles will flood the preowned market.

You just don't understand what a fad is. Just because it sells well, doesn't mean it didn't latch onto a fad.

Look at the numbers the Wii sold. Are we still flailing Wii mote-style controllers now? No, hence it was a fad. A very popular fad, but a fad nonetheless. Contrast this to the analogue stick and rumble which has persisted generation after generation. Not a fad.

Also saying I have zero inside knowledge...well duh. But forgive me for saying, but you're not engaging this debate in good faith here. Given the immense success of the Switch and it essentially establishing a new way to play, I think (along with many analysts) that it's pretty much a foregone conclusion at this point that Switch 2 will not reinvent the wheel. You can argue all you want how "I don't know this for sure" but that is completely beside the point. Let's debate in good faith and not go down a pointless "proof?!!" avenue.

Also - lol. Here's a tip - if you want to be condescending by saying "for your gaming education", at least get the game right. It was Super Mario 3D *Land*, not World (World was the Wii U game). I completed it. And no, it certainly didn't need 3D at all. 3D was a GIMMICK. (edited)

Nice. They did this deal just over a year ago with the option of Skyward Sword or Mario Kart Live Home Circuit.

Good deal, but as many have already mentioned, trust Nintendo to bundle the most unpopular recent Zelda game with a white edition OLED Switch

For disclosure, I personally love SS. Not the best Zelda game, but my boy and I really enjoyed playing the HD version on Switch last year. I would also prefer the black dock/joycon over the white and special editions.

It is a shame they aren’t bundling the game with the Zelda themed Switch. I think I would have bitten in that case but heat for this either way.

I feel like it's not the best combination considering they use the term starter pack they would have been better putting another first party game with it even if it was like Mario Odyssey, Breath Of The Wild. As much as I like Skyward Sward HD this would not be the first title I want as my first experience but that's the way I see it anyway. (edited)
