Games performance seems to get worse after each update, it is a mess on PC.

All the WRC games have framepacing issues that can be fixed with some patience. The solution is to lock your monitor refreshrate to 60 or 120 Hz, and set physics sync in game to high. Any attempt to use Gsync or Freesync will give stuttering/skipped frames. Some people find borderless full screen at 60 or 120 Hz helps, but that's really because it can stop Freesync and Gsync from engaging. If you turn of Gsync/Freesync completely then borderless full screen should also work. You can try in-game settings capped at 60 or 120 fps +Vsync as well, but that doesn't always work as the 60 or 120 fps of the physics has to be perfectly in sync with the monitor. The main point is using *fixed refresh* on your monitor of 30, 60 or 120 Hz. To keep the frames smooth you have to be capable of constantly hitting 60 or 120 fps all the time, as any dip below that will give skipped frames, which may mean you need to turn settings down. A good check (after disabling variable refresh rate) is to see if you can smoothly run 60 or 120 Hz fixed refresh at a low resolution and low settings (i.e. that your CPU can handle it). Toggle in game 60 / 120 /uncapped fps and Vsync on/off until you get something smooth at your desired fixed refresh (keep Gsync and Freesync off). Once happy that it is perfectly smooth, leave your display settings alone other than increasing resolution / graphics quality settings until you find your limit. Turn off motion blur and be careful with increasing crowd and shadow settings too high. Do this testing on a demanding stage with lots of particle effects and shadows e.g. a forrest + rain stage. Good luck! After some tinkering, I used the same fix for both WRC 8 and 9 on a 3080 to get it smooth at 1440p, with mostly high settings at 120 fps. (edited)
