    non news really.....dozens of phones reach EOSL everyday (Samsung offer longer support lifecycles than anyone else selling android phones to be fair to them) (edited)

    Discussion was posted to make people aware if they weren't already about some of the pitfalls which could occur when using phones which have lost support.

    As long as I'm not installing custom roms, doesn't concern me. Data is stolen by someone in any case. The security updates they will have to provide when there's been a breach or known threat I read even when they say there will be no.

    You are right to a large extent about stealing of data but then it's mainly to do with usability of banking applications, applications generally becoming incompatible etc as detailed in the article.
