Do you have a 6 speed freewheel or 7,8 9 cassette? Let's say you have 8 speed. Don't matter which brand. Best buy a matching 8 speed derailleur and handlebar charger with new cables.
There are some mix and match brands but it can be a problem if changer is a different brand to derailleur (edited)
