One handed / pocket size phones, where have they gone :(

Hello,

Why is there no pocket / one handed phone nowadays.
Everything is 150mm (height) and above.

Personally i like a one handed device, currently running on the pixel 3a and need an upgrade.

I would like a great camera, 5g but sub 145mm.
I know there is the iphone mini 12/13 at only 131mm which is dinky - like the old days!
Is there anything under 145mm for android devices?
I see s23, zenfone are close but the price is massive.

Any recommendations?
or reviews on zenfone 8/9/10?

Thanks all.

S23 was under £500 last week with cash back and extras, it’s not much more on contract. S22 should be a bit cheaper.

Not sure about Asus’s software update policy - 2 OS updates with 3 years of security updates? Look it up.

Pixel 4a & 5 (not 5a 5G) will no longer be updated beyond 13 and 14 respectively but will get custom ROM support for a couple of more years at least.

There are a couple of phones from lesser known Chinese brands but the camera likely won’t be up to par.

Not really an answer to your question but I have a case with a lanyard hole at the bottom. Coupled with a little finger lanyard, I can use my phone one-handed without feeling like I'm going to drop it

I'm not being funny here but don't we all use 2 hands to steady the device whilst texting, maybe?
I personally prefer a smaller phone btw.

I mean 1 hand to steady then other to text or whatever (edited)

I know it's slightly over 150 but have you tried a pixel 6a/7a, I've got smallish hands and can nearly use it one handed.

thanks, but its 155mm which is larger than what i have currently.

This seems to be the problem, a small phone is classed as under 160mm or 165mm
Maybe i want mini mini mini 145mm- , which doesnt exist anymore.

Small phones no longer exist unfortunately

To get small phones now, you have to look at flip phones, which is slightly expensive, but the Motorola ratz 40 is under £500 on offer, so not too bad.

i see and hear you. but then its nice and small to fit into your pocket, too large when you flip it open

they dont exist, only the iphone mini - but i wan android.

Zenphone the best option imo. 2 years of updates wouldn't put me off
