Proof of posting for first class letter

I used to be able to get a free certificate of posting when I hand my first class letter to the postmaster.

Is this still available if you use your own stamp?

i saw that article but it states only the items below are included. I assume the restriction is on the app only and not at the counter with a print of the receipt?

Which services can I get proof of posting on the app with?

    • Tracked 24 and 48
    • 1st and 2nd Class - parcel formats only
    • Royal Mail Signed For
    • Tracked returns
    • International Standard and Economy

Still available for pre-self-stamped items at the POs I use,
but will be difficult to meet expectations and benefits of Interpretation Act 1978 unless postage is purchased at same time.

i decided to go for track 24 delivery instead and so I was able to stick 3 first class stamps on the envelope

most post office that i have used do not like you using your own stamps as they can't make commission but some will give in if you insist. (edited)
