Recommendations for Walking/Hiking Shoes

I am currently looking for some Waterproof Walking/Hiking Shoes.

If anyone has any good recommendations, that would be welcome.
Looked at certain brands like Merrell, Columbia, Hoka, Keen & Sketchers.
Even though they're Goretex none of them seem to be full proof or suffer from build quality, wear and tear after a few months.
Budget up to a £100.

I love merrells and have had several pairs. My last pair though, the goretex failed on the left boot after a year. Thing is, it is what fits you best if you're going to be waking miles in them. Without a shadow of a doubt I'd go for altbergs, as the do several width sizes and are hand made, but you'd have to double your budget. I've had mine since 2017 and they are like new. Got my son a pair of Brashers which cost £90 and failed in a year. His altbergs cost nearly double but are on their fourth year with no signs of wear (edited)

Are Altbergs true to size, do they run narrow or would you recommend having a fitting?

    Thanks very much
