Good looking boot. Tempted but have a pair of scarpas which aren't quite done yet. These do look decent, especially at that price.

Many thanks. Bought. Can’t help buying these when they’re a sale price. Really comfy from out of the box, though can be a little narrow fit and also let water in if not cleaned properly (like most textile boots).

Any problems with Salomon, go straight to the manufacturer. I got boots in the sale from Sports Direct at less than 1/2 price. Fault in the material in one toe showed up a year later and I contacted Salomon direct through their website fault report system. They quickly agreed the boots were faulty and gave me an £80 credit to choose a new pair. 5* customer service and no messing around by directing me back to the retailer etc.

Maybes the case with footwear but a few items of clothing that had developed faults they’ve either replaced or refunded without any issues

Great price. My son who is in the RAF recommended these to me but couldn't justify spending over a £100 on them but have now purchased at an excellent price. Cheers op (y)

Two friends out fer a walk in the jungle, come to a clearing. Lying down n this clearing is the BIGGEST Lion you've ever seen, and as it reared it's head 1 of the friends puts down his backpack...removes a pair of Decathlon Kalenji running shoes, and as he put them on, his friend said You'll never outrun him in them (lol) to which his friend replied it's not him I gotta outrun (poo) Oh well, another one fer the Mods ter remove (zombie)

Decathlon make good gear, especially for when you want to start and dont want to over invest

Not sure what 'the best' are, since it's very subjective, but I bought some Reeboks in their sale a couple of months ago. For the price, I found them very comfortable (I always go a size larger for my distance trainers). I bought some similar to these https://www.reebok.co.uk/reebok-lite-shoes/DV5175.html

What are the best running shoes for under £60? Last time I bought a pair from a specialist running shop and they were over £100 for the cheapest!

Can also be used to run from the fashion police! Heat added nonetheless (y)

adidas Men's Terrex Tracerocker Fitness Shoes at £36.73 with code

Did the same and now wish I had got two pairs at that price. A good solid shoe at the reduced price, but I would consider other options first at full RRP. I would echo all the other comments above. Sole rubber grips well in the wet and overall the shoe is designed to be stiff and has a slight rocking motion to it. Very deep grip tread, I even managed to pick up some pebbles. In other words, it would seem to be a shoe primarily aimed at trail runners but is also good for hiking off paths. Having not bought Adidas before I was way off using the sizing guide and going by the size of my other shoes was a mistake. They have a very good free 100 day return so I was going to go up a half size but in the end opted to go a full size bigger, which was just right. Looking at some of the chat on the internet this is not an uncommon experience with Adidas.

ASICS trainers are the real deal when it comes to comfort, support for heels and looking like a 80’s kid with their flamboyant retro styling. The older gel nimbus were the real deal though!

Echo comments about sizing. In my case went up a whole size and was still a little snug (but fine to walk in). Recommended for sure.

Scarpa Manta Pro GTX Mountaineering Boots plus other Scarpa boots - £164.95 delivered @ Rock+run

Yep, for the people who have never worn mountain boots before, they soles are very stiff. They're made for scambling and being able to take a crampon. They're not for padding around your local park. They don't flex like other boots, if they did they crampon could come off. I already have a pair of Mammut mountain boots that I use in the winter. If I didn't, I'd jump at these for the price. Although it is always worthwhile going to a shop and getting some advice. Not every boot will fit the shape of your feet,

If you have a Go Outdoors discount card they will also price match + take 10% off meaning they're only £148.45!!! Making an already cracking deal unbelievable for some very very good winter boots 😁

Chrishall Common appears to be the biggest mountain at 147m. Make sure you take some crampons and enough rations with you if you try and attempt this in the winter. I know someone who got stranded near the summit for nearly 3 weeks in some persistent drizzle a few years back

These look like proper rigid mountaineering boots, rather than something just for winter hiking?

Just a note.... people who go walking with trainers and sandals (no socks) in the sticks risk picking up ticks!

I use mine to run through fields and muddy tracks in woodland with tree roots and loose rocks. They are very good in the wet in this terrain as the lugs are quite deep and chunky made from quite rigid rubber/plastic so seem to cut into any mud quite well. That being said the shoe doesn't compress much and there's no foam that I'm aware of. I'm still using them at the moment even though the fields and the tracks are bone dry as they've got good ankle support and are a good fit for me (think I went a size up) the lace up mechanism is quite handy too. Never really run on a tarmac surface with them in the rain but I've been able to run 10k road and mud runs comfortably. They aren't water proof either.

How’s the grip on the Speedcross ones in wet weather? I’ve had ones where the grip totally disappears in the slightest moistures

Speedcross 4 for the same price £64.99 (not a lot of sizes left) sportsshoes.com/product/sal4168/salomon-speedcross-4-trail-running-shoes/

Great price for these, owned some myself. Would recommend for walking not really for running in tho (y)

Salomon 20 years back were the dogs. I've watches their products slide downhill over time. They were one of the first brands to virtually stop using leather a long time ago. Don't know much about them, but the end products are what matters. Heat for the price, but they don't make 'em like they used too.

I dont know what people think of these, Good looking shoe, seem good for short runs but im not a runner. All sizes available at the moment. Free delivery for members.

I find them a little tight on a longer run, starts at about 3-4 miles. Never got water in them though lol

Very difficult to answer really as everyone's feet are different. A narrow size 8 foot is very different to a wide size 8 for example. Do you have an Adidas model you own and the Nike one your interested in ? That may help a little. I wear a size 11 in adidas pure boost DPR but 11.5 or 12 in Adidas ultra boost ( depending on the generation ) and size 12 in Yeezy 350's, this changes down to 10.5 with Adidas free hikers . With most Nike's I wear a size 11 such as Pegasus Turbo / Epic React / Flyknit Vapormax but have to go up or down half a size with other models . It can be impossible to compare but they both offer speedy free returns so just order a couple of sizes to be safe and return what doesnt fit.

I'm 10.5 in ultraboost but went for 11 in these due to the reviews but really can't help much more that that mate.

Does anyone know what Nike sizes are like in comparison to adidas? Thanks! :)

I voted hot as it's a great price. You should be very happy with them for gym work and were right to size up from your normal Nike fit. They have been as low as £ 45.00 recently but I'm out of stock of time machines.

Anyone able to give a comparison with Saucony ride iso?

Indeed. However I had physio a couple of years back on my knee and the guy recommended orthotic insoles rather than specific supportive shoes. I've now almost worn out 2 pairs of hokas, napoli (neutral) then arahi (supportive), and I prefer the napolis as they are more cushioned. I have now ordered some cliftons as they are supposed to be the classic hoka squishy soles, and will stick my insoles into them when the time comes.

They are neutral cushioned shoes. Not sure they’d be good for over pronation.

Probably not, but you will find yourself the recipient of an increasing amount of 'alone time.'

I like how you roll, but suspect you're about to be enrolled in an entirely new social distancing programme.

my comments on your multiple posts for the one discount code offer don't show up in keyword alerts or in the timeline, there's a subtle difference and if you weren't after ratings and posted one, definitive list rather than multiple tepid posts for the same deal then there would be no need to complain at all. The hundreds (if not thousands) of us who have the keyword alert "adidas" really don't want 50-100 posts for the ONE offer. One post for one deal is just common courtesy.
