What drill for a cylinder barrel lock?

What torque would I need to drill through a cylinder barrel lock?

My barrel is just spinning in my french doors so I can't open them.

I have bought a set of cobalt drill bits

I've been looking at a couple of 18v Bosch professional combi drills but not sure if the lower torque ones would do the job

Cheers

    If itโ€™s an older euro style lock then snapping it would be easier and quicker. You will struggle drilling a lock if the barrel is spinning.

    Yep;

    This video highlighted how weak they are, and prompted me to change all mine for anti-snap versions.

    I take it, these ones would do the job?

    I managed to drill it out using cobalt drill bits, took about two minutes to drill.

    Replaced the barrel, thinking this is too easy for me ๐Ÿ˜

    Try the handle a few times in the door open position, all fine.

    Lock door and go to open it and the barrel is spinning again.

    I can only think it's the big locking mechanism that runs the length of the door that's faulty.

    Think I'll just call a locksmith

    Got a locksmith out today, turned out it needed a new gear box.

    Sorted now
