    I'm a beginner hobby photographer. I have this lens, I bought it last year for 518 dollars (415GBP) in Delaware (so no sales Tax) while traveling. I love compression-style photography that you can get out of a zoom lens, partly because I like the aesthetic, but also because it differentiates the photos you can take yourself from what people can do with the excellent phone cameras around today.

    Tamron lenses are made in Germany I think - and they're always a bit cheaper on the continental Amazon sites, I bought their 28-70 last month and those are now the only two lenses in my bag. Again though, I am a beginner hobbies, not trying to shoot on prime or anything.
