sorted byWow. That is quite the rant. I spell it in little old United Kingdom however I choose to spell it from both variants listed in every authoritative dictionary.
Never seen anyone get triggered personally by claims about technology before. Oh wait, it's HUKD, there is always a fanboy on every thread who wants to argue. (edited)
For me.
Why?
There’s a new boy in town........
With extremely lackluster reviews thus far.
I've got a 4k TV but really not sure it's worth paying all that extra for an X when I'm not really convinced that you notice all that much difference in the enhanced games whilst you're actually playing them anyway. I recently replaced my standard PS4 with the Pro and I honestly can't see too much difference in the supposedly enhanced games I've played on it (yes I know the X is more powerful)
You forgot Doom as well! However, Assassins Creed and RB6 Siege are download codes and not the physical games although I daresay you could still get much the same prices for those codes on Ebay.
Please selling codes on eBay....they will most definitely reclaim through PayPal that the code didn’t work and they will get their money back. Risky business
I genuinely stopped reading at the word Nintenut.
I’ve still not been tempted to upgrade to a Pro, not only about the ‘non native 4K’ thing but because there’s still not been an edition come out that looks anywhere near as nice aesthetically as my Batman edition Mark One PS4 but I didn’t hesitate in pre-ordering a couple of X’s at the first opportunity..
And therein lies my point, going from an OG Xbone to the S when it launched was an upgrade 14 months ago, especially when you were able to grab one for under 200 quid from Tesco with FIFA that could sell for 35 quid separately but I wouldn’t say that’s the case now.
Yeah the X is pricey but I genuinely feel it would be better to stick for the time being and wait for the inevitable price drop on the X than splashing out on an S for what will invariably be an impulsive very short short term purchase (edited)
I've worked out that at the very worst, upgrading from my almost 3 year old 500gb XB1 to a new 1tb S with this deal will be actually costing me about a tenner at the most. If I bought the X instead the upgrade would be costing me £325...
When the X price inevitably drops and/or they include some decent game bundles which may take as long as 6-12 months, I may well upgrade again then, but right now I just don't feel the need. It's not as if in the midst of a session on Battlefield 1 I'll be thinking "you know what, if I'd paid all that extra for the X I could be playing this with very slightly more detailed graphics".
Heat for the deal, great selection of variety games, with hundreds of hours of great gameplay.
My point exactly - I've just sold my old XB1 for £125. Replacing it with this S package, taking into account what I'll get for selling the games I don't want and keeping the ones that are included that I'd be buying anyway, means that I'm effectively upgrading my machine for nothing. But if I bought the X to replace it instead, it's costing me £325. Hmmm, let me think about this for a minute :/
Course it is seeing you mugged yourself off kid
Good idea but assassins creed and rainbow six are dlc? Aren't they?
I assume you don't mean reviews of the hardware itself?
gamespot.com/art…23/
Almost every one of those reviews says the same thing
- Impressive hardware, Microsoft delivered
- No games and none on the horizon
- Not worth the additional £200-£300 outlay unless you are a fanatic
- No VR
- Superflous without a 4K TV
Microsoft delivering impressive hardware equals 'lacklustre' in your world then :/
Plenty of games, multiplats which tend to make up the majority of games we play so I believe a shortage of 'exclusive' titles was the term you were looking for
Whilst non 'fanatics' are queuing round the block to weigh on the additional 350 quid for the Playstation VR headset
I don't recollect not owning a 'Full HD' television stopping people from buying PS3's or 360's a decade ago?
Those 1080p tellies were coming in at two grand for 40 inchers back then whilst you can snap up 65 inch 4K sets for a under a grand if you shop about nowadays so I'm struggling to see the credibility in that argument (edited)
It's a shame that COD WW2 isn't included as an option now though as it was until yesterday morning, instead of FIFA / Destiny 2. That said, the option to also add Forza 7 for under a tenner wasn't there until last night so that compensates.
Cause I don't need an X yet ..... do I want one? Yes, but I can told off for a bit. At present the X is £450+ with no games, this is nearly 1/2 the price with 8 games!
I take it you meant lacklustre, that’s how we spell it in little old England sorry I digress, so back to S’s and X’s hmmmmm not quite sure where you’re getting these lacklustre reviews from because even Digital Foundry are being extremely complimentary about it?
Though I would be the first to acknowledge that for every positive reception on a new bit of kit like this there will be a negative one too but regardless of that your very own personal point of view screams out for the question that if the X ain’t all that why would anyone bother with his older smaller puny brother? :/
So you already got an OG Xbone and want an X but spending a huge chunk of the money it would cost you on an S instead?
Forgive me for not quite seeing the sense in your logic there (edited)
Compared to £450 for the X with no games, it’s a cracking deal if you don’t need 4k
Still the long link
but that extra £200 gets you slightly better lighting
Thanks OP
Fan baby? I’d rather you lobbed the troll card in because on HUKD there’s a certain Nintenut melt who has spent the last two years branding me a ‘mainstream’ console fan, had Xbox bods labelling me a pony and then of course I’ve had the Sony society in this parish get the Xbot dig in on me so which one am I? :/
You know exactly what context I used ‘little old England’ in but that said I am ever so glad to hear you are so proud of our United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I would be even more impressed if that pride extends to you being a member or supporter of the Loyal Institutions, there's a clue it’s what I’m all about in my username
As for wanting to argue, erm you’re the one slating a specific product out and then throwing accusations of fanboyism in to the mix straight after priceless
£2 for Doom . yep I'm all digital and will be on the lookout on ebay or cdkeys for cheap origins codes.
