sorted byAnd Sony should call the PS4 the "Remaster Station" and Microsoft should call the Xbox the "Backward compatible Box"...
good for those who never had a wii u, which is a lot of people and as been pointed out just as many ports on ps4/xbox (edited)
Meh. It’s been worse on other platforms.

Nintendo is bringing games across from it’s failed platform. Don’t see the issue really. (That goes for PS4 and X1 too). You don’t have to buy them and there are plenty of other games available if you don’t want to. They certainly aren’t stopping new games from being made. Probably funding them if anything.
"Only has ports". Still sells 15m units.
How on Earth are they giving you the middle finger? Other people getting to play these games is Nintendo giving anyone the middle finger?
Ports take a lot less effort to develop so they don't stop development of new games, if anything they fund it.
LMAO! Well said! Seriously though, I wish people would get off their high horse about this. They are porting games from a failed console. There are plenty of people who never played these games. It is called damage control for a failed console.
And more importantly, it does not detract from actual development of new titles. A lot of ports are done either by a small workforce number or a third party.
I'm not agree. Nintendo is allowing more people to enjoy the games the have...and on the go, which some of us owners of Wii U or not are looking forward to playing with.
If you do not like the ports or you played in the past, just do not buy and let rest of Nintendo Switch owners enjoy the awesome ports on the go. (edited)
My issue is the price with some of them... £30 for this however seems reasonable!
Come on, that's not even a good pun. Why not the Wii-Cycled

Well said. As a Wii U owner I find it extremely annoying that the Switch is riddled with ports, not just 1st party. They've given us the middle finger. And lol at those trying to justify it by saying, "well the XB1 and PS4 has ports too". So what? 2 wrongs don't make a right. The handheld should be getting new games or at the very least, these ports should be budget priced. Money for little effort.
Yeah I'm still debating on getting a Switch (mainly for Odyssey)
Well sure I get that, but if anything the price is still a factor for you guys if you want to give them another go. All i'm saying is that for a lot of 'us' we never got a go at these games - just seems wrong to be charging £59.99 RRP for some of them when they're 4-5yrs old
New to video games I suppose. Every system ever is riddled with ports.
Serves you right for buying a Wii U.
Not enough games for a system? Don't buy it!
Don't like ports? Don't buy them!
(Note: I also bought a Wii U and had Captain Toad; but not salty)
Ditto
Is it really? My issue for any of us with an existing Wii U is the number of existing ports at inflated prices...hardly encourages me to want to buy a Nintendo Switch.
Whilst admittedly this offers some new levels and a co-op two player mode at its core it is a 3.5 year old game that was already released at a 'budget' price for the Wii U.
Totally get that. They do tend to reduce in price fairly quick though. (On other platforms at least.)
I guess Nintendo’s reasoning for their pricing is so they don’t devalue their IPs. (The same reason it’s very rare to get more than a tenner off Nintendo games during sales) They’ll also be testing the waters to see which of their Wii U games could be genuine successes on Switch if they made sequels. Something that was probably hard to gauge on Wii U with how little sales it achieved.
On the other side, Nintendo titles do hold their resale values too so not all bad.
I bought it a couple of weeks after release for around £25 the first time around, the lack of decent games that have not already been released on the Wii U and the price of the Switch itself are what are keeping me happily on the Wii U...Mario Odyssey currently is not enough.
Yeah agreed - “for what they are” - MO, Zelda only two of the best games the current gen has to offer and arguably up there for all time games... it’s a scandal they are full price.... deep engaging and original games..... damn those pesky kids at Nintendo....
As long as its as well as and not instead of original games then I don't see the issue.
So far since getting my Switch at Christmas I've played and completed Mario Odyssey, Zelda BOTW and currently playing through Xenoblade Chronicles 2. All three have been gaming highlights for me so I don't feel theres a shortage of quality new games on the console.
Nintendo is taking advantage..bad business practice..just because Switch sells well theythink they can recycle Wii U games one by one and charge full price..instead of investing in original, new titles..
So disappointing.
Nothing wrong with having too many games to choose from. There’s loads of new and original games considering it’s been out for only 1 year!
The problem is that the WiiU was a flop. The switch has already outsold the WiiU after only 1 year.
These ports are only Nintendo and other games makers giving us the chance to play these great games that we never had the chance to play on WiiU because hardly anyone owned it.
I use Steam on PC where you can dip into and endless amount of games - all ported. Nintendo is heading that way with a huge library of games to choose from and it’s a great thing! We have access to such a volume of games!
You can get so many great games between £2 to £15 it’s great.
Also considering it’s only 1 years old there are loads of original content for it. (edited)
Breath of the wild is an amazing game but what I mean is the indie type game being like 30 it's a joke I have a switch and I think it's a good little machine bit I just don't get we're they get the prices from on certain games
Buyer: "at least I know what I'm getting."
