- Motherboard: Gigabyte H110M - Provides improved performance, power efficiency and cutting edge features like the GIGABYTE™ APP Center, Audio Noise Guard and cFosSpeed Internet Accelerator Software

    Very expensive a 1060 is useless. I'm running 2 1080tis in sli

1060 is useless? Seems like you're useless. However I get the slight feeling that you're trolling.

I have an identical build. The 2500k was the holy grail of price/performance at the time and still holds well by today's standards. If you haven't already then overclock the CPU to get some more life out of it. Been running mine at 4.4 since day one and after extensive research most i5s after the 2500k are minimal upgrades and not worth the cost with the latest coffee lakes being a legitimate step up but with a price tag. The 1060 just tops the 970 purely for the extra 1gb of Vram and slightly better architecture so again a slight upgrade. TL:DR - don't bother at the moment. Hold off for the next proper step up in performance for both GPU and CPU. (edited)

Good price. But damn pc prices have gone up so much since 10 years ago. I remember when £700 would pretty much get you top of the line performance in games. Now that only just....literally only just gets you the top end graphics card... Then the rest of the system on top! Lol.

Great setup though for the money prebuilt. Would try to stretch for a 1070 system if possible though for future proofing/(decent)vr capabilities

How much would you need to spend for a 4k spec gaming pc?

Including the monitor and peripherals between £1500- £2500.

Ideally you would need a 1080ti which cost like 800 quid, a decent 4k monitor is like 400 quid, then you got the other overpriced parts too.

There's never been a worse time to be looking to do a 4k build honestly.

The 1060 has 6gb ram the 970 has 4 (well 3.5gb usable) so if he plays any games at or over 1080p that use a lot of ram, like many games today do, it could very well be a worthwhile upgrade.

Just noticed to drop to a 3gb 1060 only lowers the price 30 quid, so that's what seems to make this a good deal. It's the price they're including a 6gb 1060 for. (edited)

Agree DDR3. And the response confirms my wife does not need an upgrade to her PC - ok GTX960 4Gb but close enough Neither do I
Edit: particularly as multiple SSDs involved! (edited)

This is a video of a £700 system build done by BitBuild. You get a faster processor, better cpu cooler, an SSD, and a better case (imo). The downside of the BitBuild system is that it's a 3GB 1060, rather than a 6GB 1060. Not a *huge* difference between the cards anyway, and I'd rather have a better system overall since it's easier to upgrade the graphics card every few years than a whole system.

My set up is almost identical and my opinion is no unless your machine is due to die very soon.
This is a great for anyone that's looking for a new desktop or a slight upgrade though.
