sorted byPersonally prefer wired. Saves the hassle of charging them & no buzzing when the batteries low
Shame it's not wireless.
I ordered them and they arrived this morning. Used them on Call of Duty xbox one X and they are amazing.
They don't come with the PC cable only the Cable to go into the controller.
Absolute Bargain at this price
May buy a second one for my Son
(edited)
I've been using a pair of Turtle Beach px3 for years. Works fine, just fancy something a bit more premium. Never had any low battery buzz.
Got this today and some things to note.
Headset seems OK but have an older PC and didn't realise I would need an adaptor, its just a 3.5mm single 4 pole plug so if you have an older PC with a mic and audio jack separately you will need that adaptor. Good old Amazon though should have one tomorrow. Secondly it only seems to come with a very short Xbox/PS4 connector cable with the rotary knob for volume. In reviews I'd seen they got both a controller cable and a longer PC headset cable but mine only came with the short one so have also had to order a 4 pole extension cable.
Thirdly I have redeemed the Dolby Atmos code you get onto my Windows 10 and it says its installed but I cant find it anywhere, not sure if there should be an app or something but as yet I'm unsure.
Will better test it when I get all the things in line, just wanted to give all you guys a heads up in case.
I don't think you need to launch anything mate, but I did use the app to "setup" the headphones using dolby access, which gives you a few settings, but if you installed the headphones dolby when you entered the code it should already be active.
to check, right click the sound Icon at the bottom corner, there should be a new section called spatial sound (dolby atmos for headphones) if not you should be able to select it in device properties (edited)
Updated mate.
Excellent hi grade build quality, especially the ballistic polymer main body and top arc, feels bulletproof,
Twist it and it springs back!
Comfiest ear pads I've ever experienced,
Comfort headset I've ever worn,
Won't fit a large head at all, I'm medium sized and it's maxed out.
Cable is only just long enough for most PC users,
Console will be fine as 3.5mm fastens to your controller with a volume knob at the controller!
Sounds good even at very high volume, nicely loud (audiophiles will know this means it's low 'power' being driven easily, but it sounds good).
I liked the music sound, but I'm not gaming with it until the £2 3.5mm to two 3.5mm cables turns up
(that I asked scan to send me for £3 or £4)
It isn't Scans fault, Plantronics just use every trick to get it sold for highest price for the cheapest outlay.
The RIG 500 Pro doesn't come with a 3.5 female to dual make 3.5mm either!
Anyone buying this for PC will feel let down!
I think the best way to describe it is “simulated surround”, this is because there is only 2 x speakers. However, the simulation works, found these FAR better than my midrange surround sound system (£400) for playing games and feel truly imersed. I am mad that I didn’t take the plunge years ago.
Nice one mate!
I wasn’t too sure what he meant by that either.. Pretty sure it comes with the 3.5mm cable?
Agreed, but, I have tested them and can tell which direction any noise is coming from, did the test with my eyes closed and got it spot on every time I don’t know how Dolby d it, witchcraft I think...
Yes, literally a piece of card with a scratch off bar to enable you to get a redeem code to get Dolby from the Windows or Xbox store. I've done it with Windows but cant see it anywhere on the PC to launch... Hope you have some luck.
Thanks, after my short review I was going to the originator to update the top section.
For sub £40 with cable they're perfect for Console and pottery (typo too good to delete) good for PC even with the Dolby software going a little.. like running hurdles to get going. (edited)
May be an obvious question, but have you tried adjusting in game volume settings &/or PlayStation system settings? I don’t have a PS4 but on the Xbox I can adjust volume settings in-game & on system settings
If you're gaming on Console these are essentially wireless,
as the audio cable plus in to your Controller and most controllers are wireless.
Unless you go expensive to one with swap out battery packs I completely agree!
These are the best headset, even the wireless RIG 800 LX (Xbox/PC)
Expect no support from anyone.
But for that price so worth it.
Have been looking round for a cheap headset all week.
Gotta love HUKD
The PX3? Good enough tbh. I've had mine for like 5 years I think. The model itself is around 10 years old. Battery life is good, I still get about 15hrs possibly more from a single charge.
They are very flimsy (like most turtle beaches). The clips on the joints pop off but I've glued mine back in place.
Sound is good, and so is the mic.
They don't tend to heat up my gears and are comfortable.
They are not Bluetooth, it comes with a USB switch box receiver where you can switch between PC, XBOX and PS3 settings.
I could have bought a talk back cable but wanted full wireless really anyway.
Free Atmos would swing it for me, I think it’s great.
Yeh defo go for it.
Mine were I think around 40£ new from mymemory
You can always return if it's not in as expected condition.
No 'PC cable'? So can't be used with a PC (despite the description)?
Ordered, just hoping they come in time for my sons birthday now!
Don't have much confidence after reading trustpilot though!
You aren't going to get a true Atmos mix out of a headset.
