sorted byJust to let you both know this will be the extended battery version. I work there, and Asda don't stock the original model anymore. Any leftover stock of the old Switch have long since sold through.
During my shift last night we had about 12, all of which are the 2019 revision model. Plenty of Switch Lites also which I believe are getting a £30 reduction.

~4.5hrs for a handheld games console isn't "nada". Breath Of The Wild lasts ~5.5hrs vs ~3hrs on the original model. That's a big increase. Not that ~3hrs is "nada" Plenty of people [including me] still use and enjoy the original model.
Official specification
Nintendo Switch (MOD. HAC-001-01) with improved battery life
I reckon we’ll see these for £199 on Black Friday. They must be desperate to take business away from PlayStation and Xbox
Sitting on your throne of 458 toilet rolls no doubt
Give them a call on the number on their website and they'll put it through over the phone at £239.99
FYI

You must have missed the global pandemic that disrupted the supply chain so switches were incredibly hard to buy.
Classic
No excuse to go and mouth off at someone just trying to do their job. So if you want to come online and brag about it, that’s your prerogative, but expect other people to take umbrage and I’ll say what I like. I’m also not your ‘mate’. (edited)
Great idea, kicking off at people who've been shouted at, sworn at and in a lot of cases worked extra hours over the last 8 months, all for the sake of you saving £40. Bravo.
Nobody deserves to be abused at work!
75/90 hours a week lol
10-12.5 hours a day 7 days a week.
I call BS
Yes, price is the same for instore and online.
I apologise if I offended you. Perhaps the Internet might not be the place for you though.
I submitted a price match today and John Lewis have refunded me £40.
Curry’s shut
Any parent/person tempted by this bargain with no experience of Switch/Nintendo prices need to realise that once you commit, you'll end up buying a shed load of cardboard accessory games that you play once, some fitness game you'll play once, overpriced joycons to play with someone else occasionally, games that are available on other platforms for double the cost and finally Nintendo exclusive games that drop at most to a bargain £32.99. If happy with that and money to burn... You'll love it I do mine anyway
You’re on crack if you think Asda make £40+ profit on each Switch they sell.
It's the new version, just picked one up. New box and the device itself says HAC-001(-01)
From the comments they don't reserve it, they pick it on the day - which means it could be out of stock
Wrong. I ordered mine as soon as this deal was processed and selected the first available delivery option, which is due now. Just got an email to say they gave cancelled it. Asshats were still selling it way after I placed my order.
I've ordered one just incase you are wrong,
Being asda it will be nice and easy to return.
Agree.
The one with the red box and it should state it in the description, this one from asda has the older box
Decisions, decisions...
I’m pretty certain I have the old version, and can honestly say the battery has been pretty decent for me, never had an issue.
This is what I got, how do I know if it’s the New Improved Battery Model?
Will make it £192 which is sweet
I know where I’m going now
