Upgraded Switch, even better battery

This new version of the Nintendo Switch has all the same great features of the original Switch, just with a much longer battery life. Depending on your game, you'll get from 4.5 up to 9 hours of battery. Now when you're stuck on long journeys, you'll have even more gaming time.

Hybrid console
The Nintendo Switch is designed to go wherever you do. With the ability to transform between a home console and a portable system, the Switch lets you play your favourite games for longer.

Connect the HDMI cable to your TV to enjoy a traditional console gaming experience, or prop up the stand attached to the back of the device to play games on its built-in screen. When the time comes to leave the house, you can carry on gaming by attaching the twin Joy-Con controllers to the console and using the 6.2" screen.

Joy-Con controllers
With two wireless Joy-Con controllers, the Switch makes it easy to share a gaming experience with a friend. Featuring standard buttons and a directional joystick, each controller also has motion sensing and high-definition tactile feedback.

32 GB internal memory
The Nintendo Switch comes with 32 GB of internal memory for all of your gaming needs. This can easily be expanded, using microSDHC or microSDXC cards to add storage space to suit your needs.

Don't see anything on there stating that this is the improved battery version. May just be an old library image they have but something to beware of.https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Support/Nintendo-Switch/How-to-Identify-Nintendo-Switch-Consoles-With-Improved-Battery-Life-1671732.html

Just to let you both know this will be the extended battery version. I work there, and Asda don't stock the original model anymore. Any leftover stock of the old Switch have long since sold through.

During my shift last night we had about 12, all of which are the 2019 revision model. Plenty of Switch Lites also which I believe are getting a £30 reduction.

Battery literally means nada... any decent game will kill the battery too …Battery literally means nada... any decent game will kill the battery too fast anyway and need to be docked to play comfortably. Pretty lame evolution from gen 1 lol... Switch pro next year?

~4.5hrs for a handheld games console isn't "nada". Breath Of The Wild lasts ~5.5hrs vs ~3hrs on the original model. That's a big increase. Not that ~3hrs is "nada" Plenty of people [including me] still use and enjoy the original model.

    Official specification
Nintendo Switch (MOD. HAC-001-01) with improved battery life
    Approx. 4.5-9 hours
The battery life will depend on the games you play. For instance, the battery will last approximately 5.5 hours for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

    Nintendo Switch (MOD. HAC-001)
    Approx. 2.5-6.5 hours
The battery life will depend on the games you play. For instance, the battery will last approximately 3 hours for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Funny that these were impossible to buy for under £350 in July, and they’re now available for £50 under rrp.
I reckon we’ll see these for £199 on Black Friday. They must be desperate to take business away from PlayStation and Xbox

Ordered. Why not just get the delivery date past Black Friday that way if a better deal comes along on Black Friday you Can easily cancel the Asda orderonline , if not you have the order in the bag ready to be delivered from Asda. (edited)

You must have missed the global pandemic that disrupted the supply chain so switches were incredibly hard to buy.

Any parent/person tempted by this bargain with no experience of Switch/Nintendo prices need to realise that once you commit, you'll end up buying a shed load of cardboard accessory games that you play once, some fitness game you'll play once, overpriced joycons to play with someone else occasionally, games that are available on other platforms for double the cost and finally Nintendo exclusive games that drop at most to a bargain £32.99. If happy with that and money to burn... You'll love it I do mine anyway

If you want to make sure though you can phone into your local store and confirm that the home shopping department have definitely picked your order. The customer telephone contact service has been streamlined due to Covid-19, so they won't announce to you a list of departments when you phone in anymore. You need to know the extension to get through - 293 is the customer service extension for all stores. Sorry, I don't know the Home Shopping one but CS can put you through to it.

Wrong. I ordered mine as soon as this deal was processed and selected the first available delivery option, which is due now. Just got an email to say they gave cancelled it. Asshats were still selling it way after I placed my order.
