Alternative
Yeah it does weigh nothing. I have a few of the 5 and 8 ports and have them all velcro'd to stuff so the lack of weight is a feature, rather than a bug!
Unless you use a ludicrous amount of bandwidth across all the devices in a single room then this really is the best solution. I have a gigabit fibre internet connection and have the main router under the stairs and one of these (well the metal case version for a couple of quid more) in 3 different rooms wired into it via the single cable.
I have 11 devices across those 3 switches and can easily stream 4k HDR content, from a single home server, in all three rooms while using multiple other devices simultaneously with no performance hit whatsoever over hardwiring all 11 separately.
Brill, your use case is a lot heavier than mine so should work out for me. Thanks!
I have both theses. Both work fine. The only problem with the smaller one you linked to is that it is so light it won’t sit level in the surface as the cakes just pull it up.
Incredibly small though if that’s what you need.
