Dead Pixel Policy For LCD and TFT Monitors.

If your query relates to a Monitor, specifically in relation to dead pixels, please be aware that all of Palicomps suppliers and therefore Palicomp Ltd conform to the ISO 13406-2 standard – the acceptable number of dead pixels based on screen size and resolution.A brief outline of this is below.

All monitors stocked by Palicomp Ltd are class II Products and as such any monitors with dead pixels of equal to or less than those defined within the ISO 13406-2 standard will not be accepted for return.

ISO 13406-2 Guidelines for Pixel Defects

LCD displays are made up of a set number of pixels and each pixel is made from 3 sub-pixels; one Red, one Blue and one Green.Every sub-pixel is addressed by its own transistor and so the manufacture of a glass substrate is very complex.Due to the nature of the manufacturing process, occasional defects can occur.Pixel defects or failures cannot be fixed or repaired and can happen at any stage in the LCD's life.

To regulate the acceptability of defects and to protect the end user, ISO have created a standard for manufacturers to follow.ISO 13406-2 recommends how many defaults are acceptable in a display before it should be replaced, within the terms & conditions of warranty.

All reputable manufacturers conform to and support the ISO 13406-2 standard.

The table below shows the allowable number of malfunctioning pixels that are acceptable, depending on the native resolution of the LCD and allowing for 2 malfunctioning pixels per million pixels.

The standard lists four pixel fault classes. Three types of defective pixels are described:

type 1 = a hot pixel (always on, being colour white)

type 2 = a dead pixel (always off, meaning black)

type 3 = a stuck pixel (one or more sub-pixels (red, blue or green) are always on or always off)

How would we have survived without you Sarden through all this rubbish the past year! You’ve probably helped a lot more than a 1000 ppl get started in buying a pc and inspired others to offer advice too.
And finally today I have become one you have helped! Thanks!

For this price, I want 3090 with 128GB of Ram, and at least 5950X.

I’m not going to pay a single penny more. I should be able to purchase it at that price in 5-7 years.

    Hi mate.

personal i would hangfire for RTX3070 atm mate, we are going though another market blip which has effected the biggest firms which have offered deals. - the remaining ones are a joke.

This is not as good as their other deal from a few weeks ago.

depends how one looks at it terms of value total parts then just the GPU/CPU.

Sadly the market on 3070 3080 has gone sideways, due to stock issues again, (and not just palicomp but though the field with suppliers)

which has rolled over on to the 3060Ti (the old link has gone up +50)

going of the old price it was 400+600 promo, but on top of that u need to 1) adjust the case +15 and then the extra 2tb at £50
so that means its £1065(now 1115) vs 1100 here in this one.

    So thats that one.

But the full intention of this:

the old RTX3060 package was -100 less then Ti boost package at 500 but that meant 2 things, it dropped the CPU from 5600x to 3600and obvious the graphics card.

at £900 price for the older 3600/3060 package it meant:

time we add the storage 2tb at £50
time we go for the pop case here that D3 by 1st player its 15
then the cheapest link i could add to exchange that 3600 to 5600x is £90

so that means it was £155, so ive pitched it at 1k n got it though for u,

when one deal moves on another has come in place in terms of value just a different way. (edited)

    I pitched it:

    palicomp.co.uk/amd…buy £400 3200G
    + £500 3600/3060

= which is a deal i never posted, cos i didnt like it in that sort of package, i like the 3060Ti one in there though.

    400+500
    Time we add backdoor:
    3600 into 5600x £90

then messed about with more storage on top +50, then a case change to the D3 +15. = i didnt like it.

so i random pitched it and they said they will take a look.

my idea did include WIFI which this one does not, but im not arguing over £10 wifi card from where we was at. obvious took my idea and then trying to upsell the other motherboard that B550M-A Wifi at £30 (so thats them) the rest is my idea to get it down from that link.)

thing is now; when these batch of 3060 / 3060Ti i have no idea what is next, everything was looking really postive and then card firms reported no stocks,

5 firms this week, got an avg of 4 RTX3070 Graphics card - what are they suppose to do with that, (edited)

Congrats on getting your lad to save up cash, that is pretty impressive.

5600X is a 6core 12thread CPU, which is the new standard for gaming terms in cores/threads - the latest generation gives a nice boost over the previous generation in 1080 Gaming, and small marginal gaining over 1440 gaming, some people do keep to the previous generation i.e 3600 so they can bang more buck on to the high T graphics card, sadly this does not exist with the market we currently live in as the next card up is a miles ahead in terms of cost, and isnt worth the current market price or performance to calc that switch a roo and tbh lot of other sellers are selling that generation cpu with this current gpu here "3060Ti far more then palicomp is doing with the new generation cpu.

16GB Ram comes in dual config which is the best for gaming, and u have options to increase the ram subjective to your budget, Ryzens love ram mhz, so extra tweaks which are affordable to do so are nice.

You have a B550 Motherboard which is one of the latest standards and the asus B550M-K is an entry spec board but offers good fair quality, the higher VRM Tuf board (which is atx) has better VRM and is more suited for higher GPU/CPU's or overclocks then typical stock machines or that user who just desire the nicer things which is PC trends then actual realistic needs.

The case is a budget case but does offer good airflow and has had an update and features 1x200mm fan where previous had 2x140 fans on the front, and then u have the cougar one which offers even further airflow for the bigger case - both cases are very populier on hotukdeals.

The psu is a budget one to suit this price bracket as a whole but do have now the option of upgrade this should u wish to add in a higher gpu at a later date (these came this morning after a new pitch to them).

so i guess my qs back to you does that 1200 just for the desktop or do u require a monitor inside that budget as that could be the game change what one buys? if u have what monitor 1080? 1440? or what is u intention to get?

to understand the performance of these machines, nip on youtube and type in some config words like: 3060 vs 3060Ti to see the difference, also "5600X 3060" "5600X 3060Ti" and watch a few and ull get more understand on the performance per the setting that youtuber is showing to, from low to high settings and 1080 / 1440 reso. I did read increasing issues with sourcing GPU's etc., just wanted some advice

I can't see many deals for pre-builts during black friday with GPU shortage/price increase tbh, but I assume it will be cheaper on that day than what we see now? If you have time to burn, keep trying with the founders edition until you are at a breaking point! I would at least try for a FE until black friday if you can wait that long.

I have a budget of around £1500 am I better getting upgrades for parts on this deal like they have been suggested on this thead, or getting a 3070 deal where I will get compromises on some of the parts.

If I had £1.5k budget, I would definitely look to build a pc myself. I reckon you can built a better PC for 1.5k than the pre-built's at that price.

5600x (£250), B550m (£90), 16gb 3600 ram (£55), 1tb Nvme (£75), AIO CPU cooler (£80) , PSU 750w (£80), Case (£80) and 6-7 non RGB fans (£35). Total would be £745 with around £750+ to spend on a better GPU than a 3060 ti. Even better, if you can get a founders edition on Scan, and even better if you can find lower prices on the parts I listed!

If so, you would need to get a better nvme, and better CPU cooler than the stock. If it's purely for gaming, I think the £1000 deal is better for gaming with a few upgrades to a 3060 ti , 3200mhz/3600mhz ram, Asus tuf b550m motherboard and better PSU (seasonic 650). I would also consider dropping the HDD and replace it with something like a hyper 212 cooler which in total would take you to £1200/£1250. Another thing your son may want to consider in the future is replacing the fans for quieter ones, something like the Arctic p12/p14's. Another change if you drop the HDD would be replacing the nvme P2 with a better nvme then use the P2 as a games storage. You could do all this at under £100 easily.Edit: just noticed the tuf is ATX and the case is matx, but I'm sure Palicomps will replace the case for you. If so maybe ask for the steampunk case ?

Good stuff! 5600x is definitely better in 1080p and maybe slightly the same or better at 1440p than 3800x for gaming. As for the 3060 ti, I would choose it over the 3070/3070 ti because there is no increase in 8gb vram. The 2 best bang for buck cards are the 3060 ti and 3080 imo.

Btw, once you get your pc, you should consider undervolting to lower your gpu temps, it's really easy to do! And remember, 4 pin PWM arctic fans (they are dirt cheap and best low budget fans) if your son thinks the stock fans are too loud. You may also need fan splitters (cheap as well) depending on how many fans you put in your case! (edited)

problem is atm for 750 u aint gonna get a better GPU atm, unless its an FE. shortages are inbound. so id suggest go 3060Ti cos it offers just as good as 3070 gaming but better value.

use the 3060Ti... and the mission --> 3080FE..... (750 isnt gonna get no where near an a custom card 3080) an Fe yes but it will be a while due to shortages. (edited)

    TX550W PSU £60

valuation guide: 1341.00 (giving credit to the windows too) otherwise: 1241
Cost 1549.99 with the windows / 1449.99 via call to remove.

Palicomp/AWD are like heart beats: when they got decent GPU they beat scan uk. scan uk is flatline at the 20% region of that heat machine, and even they have gone up recently.

The up sell 2 package only has credibility on two things:

    1) windows 2) extra support -> the rest is pretty much non existent not worth.

Firstly: the Windows is included in this deal, so the up sell to the next stage: PRO...... yeah right now.

(and the deal already has 2x8gb)

if the package was one of my backdoors which does not have windows --> then the windows comes in to play VS other sellers who just do that windows at £89-100 so against them terms for people who desire windows... & because they have done deals alone for 3600mhz on site and then higher psu, and then extra which use to be in this a while back (in the pro one) then this one has certainly lost its credibility. so this type of package is good for ones which do not have windows for people who desire windows (but then let them repitch u) so this one a no from me.

As for monitor photo and gaming:

#27inch+ #IPS #1MS #144/165mhz screen and 1440 reso is what id look at. (edited)

    Budget between £700 - £1000

Mainly Office Programs, however, use Dragon Dictate which seems to use a lot of resources.

    A520 Motherboard
    600W Kolink PSU
    16GB 3600mhz Ram
    Cit Flash Case
    1TB NVME Harddrive
    Windows 10 O/S

if u wanna go all over with a nice 8Core spec machine using onboard graphics because u aint doing anything too graphical. so vega will do fine.

if u dont need windows i can prob undercut it with some backdoors a little cheaper.

I was actually doing some research (not extensively) on this a few months ago and came to the conclusion an 8 core processor (you should consider intel as they are better than Ryzen for the type of work you plan on doing) and a decent Nvidia GPU, something like a 1660 super or 2060's are fine if you don't plan on gaming and on a budget. However, if you do plan on gaming you should look into a 30 series card! As for ram, 32 gb should be the minimum.

I have a budget of around £1500 am I better getting upgrades for parts on this deal like they have been suggested on this thead, or getting a 3070 deal where I will get compromises on some of the parts.

If the 3400g was more than capable and you want a very quiet pc, have you considered a Mini PC? If you do not plan on gaming and using the pc for work, I think a mini pc with 4750g or 5700g would not only be an upgrade, but perfect for your needs? How about the ASROCK X300?
