Let them keep their overstocked alcohol hand gel which they over-ordered to take advantage of consumers during the pandemic when the price was sky rocket high. They probably need to clear it from their warehouse due to fire risk. Superdrug should give this away rather than try and claw back 50p a bottle from people who will buy it and never use it.

I ordered a couple of bottles as it's very effective in treating oil or marker stains and I don't have a lot left. I'd rather buy it now than in a few months' time when it's 10 times the price.

Order it C&C. Not the 30 min one, but the 4-5 days option should work.

How is that any different when other items are sold at stock clearance prices? This is the usual way to get rid of excess inventory of anything.

They can't give this poison away. Your immune system is fantastic and we need to use it or else your body think's it's not needed, use good old soap and water.

I mean I hope anyone isnt using something like this compulsively because that will ruin your immune system. This should be a refill of smaller bottles that you take out in certain circumstances just in case you cant wash your hands. (edited)

Thats a bit harsh, the option to buy is always with the customer, this is an absolute bargain so why put customers off the chance to snap up a bargain?

And many more studies suggest otherwise. In really don't know what your point is, this is 50p anti bacterial hand gel posted on HUKD and at that price its a bargain. Are you suggesting 50p for anti bacterial hand gel is not a bargain?

Not quite correct as they had it on a special price of 50p a bottle for a short period, when COVID was at its height.
Also, at my local store, I have seen these at 25p a bottle (yellow sticker, not damaged stock).

It's not really exploitation. £7.99 for 1 litre of hand gel, considering it's normally £1 for 100ml (or 50ml) so how is £7.99 for 1L exploitation?

No, I just thought that it would be a bit ironic if the whole gel thing was a waste of time. Obviosly the mods thought it was inflamatory, so removed the post, as will happen to this post.

When I was a kid, there was a joke that had me in stitches whenever I heard it. 2 bums are drinking denatured alcohol in a park. One says to the other 'Hurry up! It's getting dark'. ....

(It makes you go blind just in case you don't get it).

Yes it is. Alcohol is a relatively cheap commodity when made synthetically for use in hand gel. Price of hand gel before covid reflected its very cheap cost. The price during covid reflected producers taking advantage of the situation and everyone scrambling to buy by inflating the price 5 fold and more.

I would hazard a guess 50p is the cost price and the stock is being sold due to them overstocking over the last few years when they could charge much higher prices.

£1 per 100ml was the standard price pre-Covid. Where could you get 1L of hand gel for 50p or even under £5 pre-Covid?
