Order cancelled when it was supposed to be delivered tomorrow!

Hmmm, they have taken payment, surely, that forms the contract?

Thought they weren’t meant to take payment until ready to dispatch under distance selling? (edited)

What other places would people recommend for tools, preferably not Amazon?
    fazzers's avatar
I use ITS, very happy with their service and pricing, of course some items can be found cheaper but they have a couple branches close too me

powertoolmate are good, just keep your eye on all of the big names for deals

Amazing deal. Think I paid £120 just for the grinder. Great grinder as well.

Did you buy the angle separately?

If I didn’t already have enough batteries, I would have bought it. I just snagged a dga504z from Amazon for £56.

I had it added to my wish list and noticed a strange drop in price. Didn’t expect for it to come through, but arrived today. Registered for warranty and it’s all working fine. Do wonder about the variable speed of this one, but I don’t use an angle grinder all too often

What a deal!!! Snap it up guys. I paid £135 for the bare tool from Germany before the Brexit nonsense kicked in. That was the best deal I could find at the time. Having variable speed on an angle grinder has been incredibly handy for loads of stuff.

Will this be able to cut through a bike chain, asking for a friend
    Tom1011110's avatar
I cut through a mate's bike chain the other day which had gone faulty and wouldn't open. We were like kids, all excited thinking it'd put up a fight and give us a bit of a show.

The angle grinder went through like butter. Under a second. Was very anti climatic and kinda disappointing!
  12. Woodwose's avatar
Ordered, thanks op. Need the batteries. Everything else is a bonus.

Order cancelled email! That price was advertised for sometime.

Curse of HUKD - Once they got a large volume of orders they pulled it.

Not impressed because I've spent close to £4K at FFX, I'll stick to the eBay store for these sorts of purchases because previous suspiciously low prices have been honoured via their eBay store. (edited)
  18. palli's avatar
gutted, would have been a sweet deal
  19. SeanMoore's avatar
Same here, that's my frustration, it has wasted my time, cost me a deal elsewhere and put me off FFX for what was a good but not unbelievable deal. I was fobbed off by their customer support when I raised this- "it is a clear pricing error as the cost of the individual parts doesn't cover the cost of what comes to in total" - oh yeah, that's the reason we buy kit deals, so we can pay the same price as if we bought the parts individually.

Order cancelled, money refunded. This company sucks

Gotta be a mistake effectively £50 for the grinder

If any of you have got lithium batteries in a hot shed or a hot car or van, bring them in. They can rupture and catch fire in excessive heat.

    Also got cancellation email through
  32. Reesty's avatar
Also had my order cancelled. No discount code or similar to compensate for their error - I thought that was pretty standard. Down the list of preferred stores FFX goes.
  33. Woodwose's avatar
Me too. The search for a good deal on batteries continues...
  34. gordon.anderson's avatar
    Yip cancelled for me too

I've looked at consumer advice which states:

    Shopping online
Your legal rights depend on something fairly tricky in the law: whether or not you have a ‘contract’.

Depending on the company’s terms and conditions, you’ll have legal rights (and a contract) either:

once you’ve paid for the item
once they’ve sent it to you
You’ll need to find the company’s terms and conditions to find out where you stand. Contact the Citizens Advice consumer helpline if you need help. It may be too tricky to work out yourself.

If you have a contract, the company can’t usually cancel your order, even if they realise they’ve sold you something at the wrong price. They’ll only be able to cancel it if it was a genuine and honest mistake on their part that you should’ve noticed.

The FFX terms and conditions state:

Our site contains a large number of Products and it is always possible that, despite our best efforts, some of the Products listed on our site may be incorrectly priced. We will normally verify prices as part of our dispatch procedures so that, where a Product's correct price is less than our stated price, we will charge the lower amount when dispatching the Product to you. If a Product's correct price is higher than the price stated on our site, we will normally, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before dispatching the Product, or reject your order and notify you of such rejection. We are under no obligation to provide the Product to you at the incorrect (lower) price, even after we have sent you a Dispatch Confirmation, if the pricing error is obvious and unmistakeable and could have reasonably been recognised by you as a mis-pricing.

Well I thought this was a very good deal, but I certainly would have said it was an "obvious and unmistakable" pricing error that we should have recognised.
    pegmosaic's avatar
Could understand if it was £87.50 then clearly an error
  39. devices's avatar
I wouldn't have considered it an obvious pricing error, it was cheap but nothing overly unusual.

The annoying thing is that I skipped going for another deal elsewhere for this, and now the other deal is out of stock.
