is this online only? went this morning to get the disks and there was none available.

I got suckered in by the 3 yr g'tee it sounds bloody aweful - as bad as the old one I was replacing. It's 230mm , 9 inch steel cutting discs are about £1.50 each ebay.

Went past a stand of these tonight but didn't see a reduced sign, will look again tomorrow.

Can't go wrong at that price if you can get it.... Hyper Tough.... that's a new one. I still think I like the word "Profesional" before an item name though (nerd)

Pink Rock salt Grinder 375g £1 in Poundland

Speaking from experience..

In Home Bargains too ...w Grinder .. Can't remember price...69p ?

thomasleep Of course you can take the contents of this site with a pinch of salt ;)

I've heard those claims before, but unfortunately it's just unsubstantiated crap. There is no evidence showing it is better than regular sea salt (or even mineral salt). By the way, the cause for the pink colour is iron oxide (i.e.: rust).

Looks like they've restocked and dropped the price slightly as well.

Kl Al keep my eyes peeled

Thanks for that, but they don't sell this model. They do have the 125X (rather than 125XPD), which I suspect is the same thing looking at Milwaukee's site specs, and that is £282.53 body-only on Power Tools UK, so with 20%off that's £226.02. I think you're confusing models.

Power tools uk with the 20%off code .

I also have one of these and the hard work soon outshone the novelty / good-feeling factor. I just buy ready ground now.

I'd also recommend the delonghi grinder, but not if you have an espresso machine, as it doesn't grind fine enough. I use an aeropress, moka or a drippler (Chemex) for which it's perfect for. As others have said, the Hario is just too much like hard work, although very satisfying.

I liked the De'Longhi KG79, but unfortunately it was a little temperamental.

Can you recommend a good quality electronic grinder pls?

Snap! Have since moved on to a bean to cup machine, completing the circle of life :D

I agree! I don't mean a physical pain, I mean a pain as in an annoyance or nuisance.

Some beans have more oil than others. I find drier ones are less likely to stick. (Sainsbury's own brand brand beans, both red and silver bag (traditional blend) & black and silver bag (espresso blend) version work nicely, taste good and are Fair Trade.)

Anyone manage to make a decent latte with this? Not sure if it's just me but I'm slightly nearer "microfoam" without the steam wand. Photo is my best effort by far after 50+ attempts and still nothing like. These things matter. I mean I'm making them for myself with nobody else in the house, but...

I have had this machine a couple of years now, gone through kilos of coffee which I find cheapest and best at Costco. it is the mutts nuts for superb coffee. Buy it, a life changer. (y)

Got one three years ago. Very happy with it. Easy to clean.

Indeed, and plenty of choice around the "deal" price- Metabo 700w @ £40, Makita 710w @ £46, DeWalt 1010w @ £51 (Prime), so not a great deal all in all.

Screwfix do a Bosch GWS710 for £32, seems to be comparable performance.

This is good though because your local butcher could be putting offcuts of different meat to make your mince. I've seen this before and never ordered mince off that butcher again. This way you know what you're eating.

As an aside: If you're picking one of these up & you plan to cut stone then keep your eyes out at lidl & aldi for their diamond tip steel blades. They go for about a fiver for a multi-purpose (wet/dry) multi-pack IIRC and are easily worth that IMHO, for better performance, relative longevity & less (zero ?) risk of shattering as standard glass fibre reinforced discs can.

How very European. Putting your shaft into both holes (embarrassed)

No, it’s a diy job that will take me a few weeks, but might need a grinder at any time or might not.

Would you not be as well hiring one for a fiver in that case?

great for repointing keep using burn out two or three unit and eventually get full refund

Said the man obsessed with grinder.

Reported for stalking (shock)

So you've got a different one. (highfive)

Always find comments like this difficult to believe’ this grinder has great reviews and 150w of power is plenty IF you know what you are doing. My guess is you may have had a faulty unit ( highly unlikely ) or quite simply you don’t know what you are doing ( likely ) I’ve got one albeit not this exact brand and it’s been brilliant’ used it loads of times to sharpen numerous objects and grind things down etc etc never once has it let me down, brilliant. But then again like the majority of argos reviewers of this one, I know how to use it properly (y)

No, It is that bad, Mine was from Argos, Is black , Can't remember the name of top of my head, Paid 14 quid for it, As soon as you start to grind anything solid it just slows right down and stops, And takes a good 5 seconds to speed up again, Right before you slow it down to a stop 5 seconds later, Not even worth the £16.66.
