I might pop to Lidl on my lunch break tomorrow

I prefer the ugly ones myself.

Would this allow wet grinding? I mean like some Thai spices for frying not that I do any atm.

There's usually a customer service contact in the manual. Sometimes they give you a label for a courier to collect, sometimes they just send you a replacement, sometimes they send a cheque. Sometimes the store will do a refund, depending on the manager.

Lidl change products every week. I would guess, if it breaks within the 3 years, you get a full refund?

No need to apologise mate. Angle grinders are a queer anomaly amongst power tools where pro ones cost little more than their DIY counterparts.

Apologies, I didn't realise I was talking Pro v DIY.... I just saw the green Bosch on the same Amazon page and had a extra 100w for £2 more that's all no offense towards the deal intended

You're talking professional Vs DIY, so on that basis no. And I don't know what Bosch green's warranty is but Hitachi's is 3 year pro use, so if the Hitachi was £2 more than the Bosch that would be more than worth it.

Won't the Bosch 700 be better for £2 more? Unless you want to save the £2 for something else that is? I'm sure someone will correct me (y)

This is always around the £33 mark but it's still a great price compared to DIY offerings, so heat from me.

Please let us know how you get on? Reviews on screwfix aren't particularly encouraging

Cheers. Requested to be delivered to my branch and collected today. Screwfix has it on deal for 29.99 I am very happy now. Thanks op!!

Thanks op I managed to reserve one yesterday and collected today from my local so they are available. Almost got a no name brand one from asda few week ago for same price. Glad I waited. Thanks for posting

Good deal but once again b and q are a bunch of cowboys! I put the order through earlier only for them to ring me to cancel the order as this is a ‘discontinued’ product despite the website letting me pay for it! Yeading branch if it helps anyone, another ‘fake’ hotukdeal for this disastrous and annoying company! Would not trust that other branches near me have this item!

I think in 30 years I’ve replaced brushes once, and turned around a set by 90 degrees.

Picked mine up, well a handy little go too tool..

Maybe I was too quick with the heat. They are £5 dearer here in NI:

I also purchased one of these today. I feel a little underwhelmed with it, it is definitely only for light work. Cutting not grinding I think. I might well return it.

Bossh bill their equivalent tool as a cutter, and not for polishing/sanding. Although it's possible to buy 76mm sanding discs, they're mostly the ones meant for a Roloc pad, which wont fit this. I researched this then when Bosch brought their's out at first, and decided it was too specialised for the money. For the price of the Parkside, it might be worth it. Heat from me.

I can have 1 weak coffee a day, 2 pushing it. Any more and I get stomach issues, palpitations and insomnia. It's amazing how it can just happen out of no where.

Ah mate, I feel for you. I too developed a caffeine intolerance but just couldn't give up the brew. In the end I found if I mixed 50% caff and 50% decaff beans I got a brew that was a more or less 'acceptable' compromise.

Just a small note. I ordered a few things a month or so ago & it does take a while ( & a few emails ) for delivery. The items I ordered were dispatch from Portugal and that is where their customer support is. Other than that items arrived well packed etc & were extremely cheap.

Not on yet, but I'll drop you a link when it is. Will be selling Gaggia classic with PID mod, chrome mignon and loads of extras.

Thanks so much Sir

Yep, thats about it. I have bought the following etching bits & a few wood router bits that are for 3.2mm (or 1/8 of an inch in old money) & can vouch that they fit mine perfectly... and... The main reason I bought these was that I wanted them quickly & these were from UK sellers. There are these & much more available from the far east sellers that are far cheaper provided you are prepared to wait for delivery. Be safe, wear eye protection & enjoy your hobbying.

So with my Parkside I need to look for bits that fit the 3.2 or 2.4mm collets?Cutting, routing into glass and stone and polishing. Can you send me some links so I may get additional bits. perhaps a multi pack? I am autistic and with there having lots of parts I don't want to get the wrong ones thank you

There are no problems finding finding the bits for, milling, engraving, drills, routers, cutting disks, grinding / polishing mandrels to fit the 3.2 or 2.4 mm collets provided. Or for that matter different size collets to fit very cheaply from a well known auction site... The problem lies in pitch of the screw thread of the collet tensioning nut, so that as said by shedloads, the Dremel screw on attachments won't fit.... And yes as the op I had ordered extras before reading the comments above & am now the proud owner of an adjustable keyless chuck that wont fit so lost out on a couple of quid there. ... But all the bits I bought fit perfectly.

I'd like to know which accessories fit this too. Didn't see any in 3 separate stores.

Other options include buying a hand grinder and attaching a drill to it. Or if you have a bit more time on your hands you could use a pestle and mortar!

Depends what you're grinding for. If you're grinding for pour over, filter or French press, a budget burr grinder like the Delonghi above would probably do. If you're thinking of espresso, no blade grinder is ever going to be anywhere near up to the task, but neither would a budget burr grinder be suitable. For espresso, you'd be better off spending a small budget like this on a manual grinder from Hario or Porlex, but you'd soon get fed up with the task.

Not sure why this has been expired - it's still available

Something like this is a decent budget one: Otherwise they can get quite expensive

Where on the website does it say they’ve had many returned as defective ?

This looks like another product that Screwfix has chosen to discount having had many units returned as defective. In this instance it looks as if they should have withdrawn the item from sale and returned their stock to the manufacturer on the grounds of safety.

Yes it does. Bought mine on Thursday but took it back today, Damn thing was far too heavy and the 125mm (This one goes up to 220mm) discs looked lost, Basically I could see my work piece because of the huge disc guard.

Bought it last night, the last one in stock of the 3 stores I went too xD Much bigger than I thought it was. I am use to the smaller Sliverline grinders, this thing is massive compared. Don't buy the small blades for it, they are for the small grinder. They will fit onto this grinder but you wont be able to cut very deep as the gear head is quite large. Stick with the 230mm disks. They have diamond cutter disk and pack of "6-piece set of 3x Metal Cutting, 2x Stone Cutting and 1x Metal Grinding Discs". Looks like you can use the other accessories, not 100% sure yet though. Will be having a play later today. Ps, yes it is slow start.

Cheers for that just realised I didn't mention the start date.Updated deal

thomasleep Of course you can take the contents of this site with a pinch of salt ;)

I've heard those claims before, but unfortunately it's just unsubstantiated crap. There is no evidence showing it is better than regular sea salt (or even mineral salt). By the way, the cause for the pink colour is iron oxide (i.e.: rust).

Kl Al keep my eyes peeled

Thanks for that, but they don't sell this model. They do have the 125X (rather than 125XPD), which I suspect is the same thing looking at Milwaukee's site specs, and that is £282.53 body-only on Power Tools UK, so with 20%off that's £226.02. I think you're confusing models.

I also have one of these and the hard work soon outshone the novelty / good-feeling factor. I just buy ready ground now.

I'd also recommend the delonghi grinder, but not if you have an espresso machine, as it doesn't grind fine enough. I use an aeropress, moka or a drippler (Chemex) for which it's perfect for. As others have said, the Hario is just too much like hard work, although very satisfying.

I liked the De'Longhi KG79, but unfortunately it was a little temperamental.

Can you recommend a good quality electronic grinder pls?
