Aldi 20v/40v cordless DIY power tools bundle (Combi Drill, impact driver, angle grinder, charger and 2 batteries) £125 delivered

Having just posted a deal for an Einhell bundle deal of cordless DIY tools for £187 I’ve found out (credit to @mchilli for pointing it out) that Aldi have a bundle of tools com… Read more

Well that was a first for me waiting for Aldi to open this morning, at 10 to 8 there was already a queue, bought 2 of the 20/40v batteries a charger a drill and the grinder, everything performed well and I now have a full set of seats in the car, had no trouble cutting 4mm sheet steel to sandwich the floor pans to spread the load of replacement front seats. Money well spent. I also bought a set of drill bits that claim to need no centre punch and they performed as promised too. Only negative I have is the grinder comes with no case, so I will modify one from an old 240v grinder.

It It says that for the other bits but cant see mention of it for the charger.

In store from Thursday 😁

You can’t trust Wickes stock levels. The stock reported is not even close to what it is in my experience and I’ve spoken to managers about it after various ghost hunts. It’s because stock levels are run centrally and remotely and not by the stores. Periodically people are sent to reconcile so there is obviously a known problem. It’s a shame because I really like Wickes. It’s just there stock levels I don’t trust and let’s them down

Similar to the other deal posted on here today. However this one has the L-boxx, but is £12-£13 pounds more expensive. So I suppose it is down to how much you want the case.

Any deals on a cheap charger? Mine blew up

Yes, does anyone know how I expire this, or do I just leave it to the mods!? If anyone ordered, I hope that you are pleased with the product

Yes - it was a lightning deal - yesterday only.

The price has gone up to £129.00

Cheers. Fits with my other Bosch pro tools and the box will be handy.

Urgh. Paid £95 for this few days ago.

Which is better

They are different. The one with the case takes a 125mm disc whereas this model takes a 115mm disc

I just ordered this one, and the one with a case for £98. If by luck this one comes with the case, I'll cancel the other one, and vice versa.

I ordered as well. They do another with a case, I might cancel this, abs order the other one.

I got one and it's very good (y)

I think this is a hot deal. I got as far as placing proceeding to checkout and changed my mind. Although I have been searching high and low for cheaper KitchenAid accessories for a few years (and this is a great price!) having read several reviews on different websites, I keep coming across similar complaints all the time (regarding the plastic one). There's a noticeable price gap between the metal and the plastic grinders but I'm gonna hold out a bit more in hope that they will drop in price some day too. Still, giving heat for the find - this was very very tempting. Thank you.

Tried this and the metal ones on eBay.....the met ones are far superior. But this is a great price.

Ground fish brrrrrrrrrrp

Wanted the metal one but this one is worth a shot at this price.

Just get the 115 model 240v around £45.

Apologies Ben, it was the Bosch Professional GWS 7-115 Corded 240 V Angle Grinder, not the 11-125.

The 240v version of this has been as low as £40 in the past.

Never said it wasn't - my comment was to clarify in case someone thought this is an angle grinder you can plug in at home, as I imagine the average HUKD-er would assume it is. If this were the same model at 240v, there's no reason why you couldn't use it for your garden hoe.

Shame. you should have told her your full name Pabloz Escobar. Would have refunded in seconds.

Don’t bother buying it from Argos they will see that as a ‘non essential item’ cause if they don’t even consider a PC desk so you can work from home an essential item very doubtful you will see this before the end of the month

150w is not a lot of power. It will put and edge on a blade but if you actually had grind a piece of steel this wouldn't be ideal. 300w will both sharpen and grind reasonably well.

My bad it was actually bench grinder. And i just realised this deal is from argos... Guess it was late and i needed to rant lol

DIY noob here. Why exactly is this a bad purchase? I'm thinking of using this mainly as a knife repairer/sharpener. What would a higher wattage be more appropriate for? Would I regret not spending more for more power? TIA!

All the smart comments ref if you're arthritic you won't be able to change batteries etc...just doesn't wash, if you really can't change batteries then I'm sure you have a friend/ carer/ family member of partner that can .. (annoyed) (annoyed) They can and do corrode over time however if used with salt, but still extremely useful for those with dexterity issues

Its not something I thought id ever do, buy an electric pepper grinder but Aldi had one on sale and in a moment of what I thought was weakness, i bought it, I liked it so much I went back for a second one the next day :D I wanted to buy more for friends but by then they had run out, once you get one you'll know what I mean.

No more left at that price, darn.

I don't see the need of benefit of an electric grinder. It just seems a little over engineered for it's purpose.

You only buy these for show, manual ones are far better.

On a 3ah I would say it last about 5min heavy work before starting to stop and cut out. I have at least 4 spare batteries so it's never been a issue with me.

Hi Liam, do you run it on 3ah batteries, and how much time would you say you out of the tool before it begins to keep stopping?

I have this, it is good for that price and works fine but you will notice that it does stop when the battery starts to get depleted to about half charge, so you really need at least two batteries if you are doing any major work with this. I'd imagine the brushless one would have more gusto though 💪

Do these work with any batteries apart from einhell/ozito?

If the portable angle grinder comes with a battery and charger that's very good value, can't really justify buying either type but might just have a look when buying some milk.

Heat for an angle grinder that has the on/off switch where it should be. :{

Great spec bike for the price.

It overheats if you use it for cutting concrete, for light cutting such as tiles it works OK.

Why do you say the cordless one is good if it keeps overheating?

Dont forget you will be charged emissions charge if you get in london with diesel version though. Haha

I have just got my vonhaus delivered few days ago. Used it yesterday. Not bad at all. But did feel like it could break specially the metal cutting wheel in the beginning as i use makita wheels at work. 2 yrs guarantee as well. Few bit and pieces extra. So go for vonhaus. Always use a gloves and glasses . And dont forget to lock the wheel tight. All good.

Is there a diesel version of so I'll have it (y)

240V??? Will be binned in no time!

Not always but often I find cheaper tools are great quality and if they do fail they were cheap so who cares lol. I'm a bit of a fan of Lidl power tools and have the full 20v cordless set. They are a bit heavier than the big brands but the quality of the tools are great (especially the impact driver and drill). The grinder is OK but overheats very quickly so I'm probably going to change that.

I agree they can generally be used safely but opinion on used correctly really comes down to risk assessment for a specific job. People lying under cars using hand grinders in confined spaces for example, is that being used correctly? Certainly more risky than hacksawing a bolt instead, just not as easy or quick. Its human to err, maybe wrong grip, lapse of judgement after a long day etc and I personally feel theres much more to go wrong very quickly with grinders in general than over most other powered hand tools I use, which is why I prefer using this over my 240v. I think your right about control on this machine which sums it up nicely!

Grinders, like almost all tools, are perfectly safe if used correctly. As you've already said, this is lighter on power than a 110v or 230v grinder, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I used mine when tiling my kitchen walls and floor, and the lower power meant much more control, making it the ideal tool for cutting shapes, corners etc in tiles.

Still in stock just ordered for Cardiff

At first I thought here we go, another tool deal out of stock everywhere! But at least it was expired quickly but I can confirm I have just ordered one for collection tomorrow. Postcode WN7 and pretty sure I could have selected the other stores around me. Edit. I have just gone back on to see if I could order another and it looks like I cant. So I guess that one I just ordered was the only one floating around the area and no matter where I picked it up from the stock would then have gone. Hope I'm wrong and someone else can make use.
