De'Longhi KG79 Professional Burr Coffee Grinder at Amazon UK for £33.74

I've seen and felt this in JL and it felt poorly made cheap brittle plastics. I bought this instead. I can't afford £200+ grinder I think there's a degree of diminishing returns anyways. Bodum 10903-01UK Bistro Electric Coffee Grinder - Black

Confused you would grind this

I replaced the original basket with a non pressurised version, as I read the finer coffee caused issues with the original pressurised basket. It wasn’t the following but an equivalent. I also bought a decent metal tamper significantly heavier than the original plastic one. I use a blind filter and cleaner to occasionally clean the machine which helps maintain performance.

Possibly. Not sure.

See my comment above. If you can't get fine grind from the bodum send it back. Don't do like me who's now stuck with it!

Taste is subjective, but there's plenty of better instant coffee. Why you would grind your own coffee and mix with instant though if that's what you're suggesting I have no idea. Would be better I'd say to just get pre ground then. Or just grind and not mix with instant. Instant like Nescafe is bad for your health too. I rate Cafedirect. They sell pre ground or beans. I just buy the pre ground at the moment but want to get a grinder, but will probably get a Hario Skerton Pro if I can get a decent deal. A trick is also to attach an electric drill to a manual grinder. Much higher quality for the price. E.g. a £50 manual grinder and use a drill. Regarding minimalism mentioned earlier, a hand grinder like a Hario Skerton would fit the bill.

You can’t argue with their flavour though. man. 👌

WTF. And Nestle kill babies man:é_boycotté#Controversy_and_criticisms

Hi, I like to mix my fresh ground coffee 50/50 with Nescafé gold blend. Would you recommend this for my needs? Thanks.

Be aware that both this and the delonghi are conical burr grinders (much better than blade grinders...which aren’t actually grinders if you want to split hairs). As has been said they need to be modded to make a reasonable espresso grind, however conical burr grinders have two issues...1) consistency of grind tends to drift (while they are grinding) so those looking for that perfect shot will need a plate grinder, and 2) if you use an oily bean (most dark roasts) they have a propensity to clog. I used a modded dualit conical burr grinder with a particularly oily bean (monsooned malabar) for a few years, it did the job but I was forever having to strip it down to clean the the end it got so bad that it needed cleaning at every grind. I was lucky enough to get a nearly new Compak Pro grinder off eBay for £99, and have never looked back.

I have just tried it guys and I confirm that I am happy with the results. The only problem is that cleaning it might be a bit of an issue. Other than that the grinding is fine and my cup of coffee tasted great.

Thanks for your comment, as after reading it and investigating further I decided not to buy it.

I get your point Pokey but the reviews on Argos are good

This is what I'd like to know. Anyone vouch for it?

It's a blade grinder. A £10 blade grinder. I don't need to try it. No coffee bean should ever be 'cut' by a blade grinder.

Workzone 20V cordless selection. Available from 27th September.

I think that new 20v batteries from workzone will fit without other brands without any change.

I'm quite sure that there will be no indicator. 1.5 Amp batteries are mostly without indicator. I have same sds hammer drill as you, for 28 with one battery. 18v workzone battery suits my Worx tools, but impact driver is not working on that battery, propably low power. Hammer drill working fine. To use Worx 20v batteries on Workzone hammer drill you have to cut small pin on battery mount or on battery, easy job, working fine.

You could just buy a cheap multimeter. If it's 21v it's totally full (5*4.2v) if it's totally empty it will be 14v (5*2.8v). So 25% will be about 16v, 50% about 18v and 75% about 19.5v. Ideally you want to keep it in the 15v-20v range so don't store it empty or full.

is that for all of them listed? any experience yourself? I have the sds that went on sale for £28 its amazing for the price but no battery life indicator is killing me never know whether to charge it or leave it in my bag...considering another tool that comes with a battery if its for a good price and has an indicator.

Batteries are same but sometime you have to cut small plastic pin to mix them.

Has anyone found one ? Any in Birmingham?

ta op! just what I am looking for had one for 70p in charity shop but when I went back to get it 5 mins later it had sold!!!

12 to 14 seconds

Had one of these at work. It’s a chopper, it gets very “staticky”, you have to press down the hopper to activate the chopper - and keep it pressed down. But for under a fiver and if you can find one it’s going to be grand.

I have a grinder but have never used it... I never know how long to grind the beans for to use in a cafetiere.......

Another great deal from uk power tools keep adding to my collection i know not brushless but i don’t use a grinder that often so works for me

Just had notification mine will be delivered tomorrow now have to find something to cut

Cheers op might get this...just because :)

I've got the first fix brushless nailer but now looking at the second fix just because I have a space going spare in my dewalt box some people do drugs I spend my spare cash on tools as I'm looking to self-employed soon and want to be geared up from the off

Quite fancied the nail guns but they are pretty pricey and I think overkill for knocking together pallet wood planters and such like which I use my other Dewalt kit for. I need the nailer, plane, SDS drill and angle grinder for my complete set. Currently have circular saw, jigsaw, reciprocating saw, multi tool, drill driver and impact driver. Used every one of them in my projects and they are mint. Once my collection is complete I’ll probably pick up the garden tools if I can get them at a decent price.

you sound just like me I've got nail guns ,planer ,sds drill, impact driver ,jigsaw all dewalt all cordless but I'm supplied a complete set of cordless Makita and dewalt for work just need the grinder to complete my own personal set and oh by the way dewalt is better than Makita end of

Argos regularly have their Guild bench grinder on sale, and it's usual price is £19.99. That's 150w but it doesn't have the flexible drive shaft.

I've got one of these. They have a very high max rpm that somewhat makes up for the lack of power for grinding. Probably not the best grinder for polishing but I like the portability and Dremel style bits with it.

Great price, very versatile, thanks

Code number would have a 'T' at the end of it if there was a toughbox included. So this would be DCG412NT if it had a box.

Just bought one. Amazon normally around £105 historically. Also 5.0ah batteries £54.99 from this site too.

It depends on how much you're planning on using it. If it's only occasional use for cutting the odd bolt off, then I would say no. But if it's going to be used more often, and for longer periods of time, then yes. Brushless would make your batteries last longer.

What’s normal price for these?

Is the brushless version worth 55 notes more?
