Didn’t last long. Amazon’s new own brand Solimo seems good. Anybody tried their blades?

Same to me :(

Ordered a few lots. Now I need to figure out how to take the top off to put the peppercorns in my own grinder (y)

Says £6.57 when you add to basket

Thanks ordered

dewalt 18v xr lithium-ion body only grinder £85 Amazon

Cheapest it's been for a while. Decent bit of kit. Makes a massive difference not having to get an extension cord out for small jobs etc.

£94 now. Which is a shame when plenty others are doing it for around the £85.

Will make a nice set with my dcl050 worklight!!

You're assuming that all the other retailers that sell it at this price have poor after sales? Besides, Dewalt are very good with after sales themselves in my experience. I'm not knocking this post, I'm simply stating that this is normal price.

I would rather have Amazon's after sales customer care than save 50p.

This is the going rate for this. Don't confuse it with the more expensive brushless version. A quick Google finds this at this price or slightly cheaper from a few places.

Just tried mine, quite impressed. @xfirebladex It's constant power rather than constant speed so 500W isn't available at slow speeds. For tough work you'd need to up the speed and force it in a bit. It's quiet like a Dremel as no gearing. The box is good and if you cut a small notch near the chuck bit, you can use it to keep the tool steady when using it with a flexi-shaft. Comes lightly coated in oil which is nice.

Dremel and similar rotary tools are high speed, low torque. Die grinders are like angle grinders without the angle so you should be able to give it some welly with a rotary burr and chomp out some steel. Good for cleaning up welds on inside corners.

Excellent find, I've been after one of these to do some porting work on the lawnmower.

"Don't need it and can't think of what I would do with it but I know one thing come Thursday I'm still going to buy it! " Love it... And I thought I was bad ... lol

Interesting. Basically a very powerful Dremel, it would be good if it could be modified to accept a standard drill chuck so you could use it as a drill in tight spaces?

£74 now... Technically.. cheapest it's been since 2016.

Cheaper here Same price at many other outlets as well so not really any big saving for me - sorry.

I didn't mean to sound as though I was writing off all cordless grinders. Just this one! I have a brushless makita grinder and it's awesome, a good mains replacement for all but the heaviest of jobs. This one is the other way around, being hopeless at all but the lightest jobs...

Thanks for sharing your experience, you can't beat the words of a helpful person who has used the product! (y)

I’ve had this model, although I thought it was great at first it does tend to slow down easily while cutting with very thin metal cutting discs. Burnt out in the end then eventually got the Makita GDA454Z brushless model, the difference in powder & ergonomics is night an day, yes more money think I paid £115. ebay have discount on today starting at 1pm, might be able to use for one

These things are great for all kinds of homemade food seasoning. Here's my favourite for a Sunday roast chicken (courtesy of cookinginrussia on youtube): - 1 t Peppercorns, mixed (black, white, green, pink) 1 t Tarragon, dried 1 t Thyme, dried 1 t Garlic powder 1 t Dark Brown Sugar (I use Muscovado) 1/2 t Chervil, dried 1/2 t Paprika 2 t Salt 1 Bay Leaf 1/2 Knorr brand Chicken Stock cube Grind those spices in this machine then mix into a bowl with 25ml lemon juice and 25ml olive oil. Use this to baste the chicken.

I have a very similar Cookworks grinder and it isn't very good - You can't grind enough spices at once and you need to rest the motor between use.

Herbs grinder? the police will find this in my pocket very easily! (cheeky)

This isn't a grinder.... It has a blade! Just a very small food processor. Please. Don't put coffee in this lol

No. And coffee should be kept well away.

Dewalt DCG412N 18v XR Cordless 125mm Angle Grinder - Bare Unit - £80 w/ voucher code @ buyaparcel (eBay)
Found 6th NovFound 6th Nov
Just bought this - seems very cheap with voucher code and good reviews.

I dont think that it would power it enough to start up! doing step leadwork I needed to. Use my second 5ah on a verge but it almost finished it

In my opinion you need a minimum of 4ah batteries in this tool, with anything smaller the first one would still be on charge when the second went dead. I used one to cut a pocket in some stone and it more or less drained a 4ah battery doing that

How to long would you expect batteries to last? I have two 1.3AH batteries, so would cost a lot to upgrade batteries

I got the brushless multitool with accessories and bare unit angle grinder and it came to £159 for both.. An extra £5 was taken off for buying 2 items in their offer.. Very happy.. :D great spot OP

I'm not sure as haven't been back, but I'm assuming it was limited quantity at this price. It'll be hit or miss if you try and get one, but I don't think it'll be worth the petrol of you're travelling far.

For use of the wet wheel just search online for TORMEK. There are also some good YouTube clips on how best to use them. Please don't think this machine will give similar results but just as a guide to why you may need one. Heat for the price alone.

I think heating blades up weakens them so the water keeps it cooler and does less damage to steel when sharpening.

Picture is a PNTS 250 B1, which unless they've switched supplier is made by Grizzly Tools according to the manual here:- Lidl use various suppliers for their tools, Grizzy make some of their better ones.

I thought both Aldi and Lidl used Scheppach to make their tools. The last Aldi tool I bought had "manufactured by Scheppach" on the box and printed in the instructions. Anyway this is a good deal so heat from me OP.

Thanks I'm looking for a bench grinder soon. What's the benefit/expected use of the wet wheel?

I've seen and felt this in JL and it felt poorly made cheap brittle plastics. I bought this instead. I can't afford £200+ grinder I think there's a degree of diminishing returns anyways. Bodum 10903-01UK Bistro Electric Coffee Grinder - Black

Confused you would grind this

I replaced the original basket with a non pressurised version, as I read the finer coffee caused issues with the original pressurised basket. It wasn’t the following but an equivalent. I also bought a decent metal tamper significantly heavier than the original plastic one. I use a blind filter and cleaner to occasionally clean the machine which helps maintain performance.

Possibly. Not sure.

See my comment above. If you can't get fine grind from the bodum send it back. Don't do like me who's now stuck with it!

Well, I for one am loving my first bean grinder! Thanks again OP.

Taste is subjective, but there's plenty of better instant coffee. Why you would grind your own coffee and mix with instant though if that's what you're suggesting I have no idea. Would be better I'd say to just get pre ground then. Or just grind and not mix with instant. Instant like Nescafe is bad for your health too. I rate Cafedirect. They sell pre ground or beans. I just buy the pre ground at the moment but want to get a grinder, but will probably get a Hario Skerton Pro if I can get a decent deal. A trick is also to attach an electric drill to a manual grinder. Much higher quality for the price. E.g. a £50 manual grinder and use a drill. Regarding minimalism mentioned earlier, a hand grinder like a Hario Skerton would fit the bill.

You can’t argue with their flavour though. man. 👌

WTF. And Nestle kill babies man:é_boycotté#Controversy_and_criticisms

I have just tried it guys and I confirm that I am happy with the results. The only problem is that cleaning it might be a bit of an issue. Other than that the grinding is fine and my cup of coffee tasted great.

Thanks for your comment, as after reading it and investigating further I decided not to buy it.

Workzone 20V cordless selection. Available from 27th September.

I think that new 20v batteries from workzone will fit without other brands without any change.

I'm quite sure that there will be no indicator. 1.5 Amp batteries are mostly without indicator. I have same sds hammer drill as you, for 28 with one battery. 18v workzone battery suits my Worx tools, but impact driver is not working on that battery, propably low power. Hammer drill working fine. To use Worx 20v batteries on Workzone hammer drill you have to cut small pin on battery mount or on battery, easy job, working fine.

You could just buy a cheap multimeter. If it's 21v it's totally full (5*4.2v) if it's totally empty it will be 14v (5*2.8v). So 25% will be about 16v, 50% about 18v and 75% about 19.5v. Ideally you want to keep it in the 15v-20v range so don't store it empty or full.

is that for all of them listed? any experience yourself? I have the sds that went on sale for £28 its amazing for the price but no battery life indicator is killing me never know whether to charge it or leave it in my bag...considering another tool that comes with a battery if its for a good price and has an indicator.

Batteries are same but sometime you have to cut small plastic pin to mix them.
