Have you ever ate cold pizza?
No difference than it being sold
Though it may not taste as good
No different than going to Gregg's right before closing also they don't cook them all at once they cook when they start to run out
PS this is about Morrison's. (edited)
It was supposed to stop waste, but now many food shops on it just see it as another sales channel and make batches especially for it, so I'm not sure its saving the waste it once was per outlet, it just now has much more coverage
Our local one has already warned that it is starting to see a change as more of this food is being sold by supermarkets for their own financial gain in these bags/ boxes. At the end of the day, it is their food that they have paid suppliers for and they can do with it what they choose, but the move from supplying food banks etc to people who are perhaps able to pay for food just picking up a bit of a bargain doesn't sit well at the moment. Others may disagree.
and could be given to people that need it, for free. nice (edited)
here's a revolutionary idea: make this available for free to homeless and people in need instead of trying to minimise losses and pretending to tackle waste which you produce by overcrowding your shelves. (edited)
Hot had sausages, chips, mash, bacon, peas, gravy, beans, mushrooms. Enough for two or three people. (edited)
I tried Nero and at £3, it wasn't worth it. Yogurt, dead crossaint, bread and something else, I can't even remember.
Costa never has anything, Morrisons always sold out. Otherwise shops at petrol stations at £5, but it's not worth the risk. Nothing else nearby. Some places have huge choice.
I checked yesterday area near Heathrow and hotels offer magic bags from breakfast at £3, which might be worth it. (edited)
The hot food wasn't much better. Half a dried out roast chicken, saved a bit by the small pot of gravy included. A small pot of beans, one with mushy peas, 3 sausages, a big pile of mash which was ok, then a couple of bits of the most dried out, overcooked bacon and mushroom I've seen in my life. Their cafe food is pretty awful to begin with though so I shouldn't have been too surprised. You could have fed 4 with it but feeding 4 for £3 isn't a massive feat anyway.
The cold one was slightly better, 6 finger sandwiches and a selection of 6 pastries.
I think it's really branch dependent on how good they are, my sister in law in the next town overall has had a couple of grocery boxes with a massive and varied selection of stuff. She got a cold food one with two of the afternoon tea trays in it that are usually about a tenner each.
It'd be better if they just gave this stuff away to a food bank but I remember someone telling me there's a reason why they can't.
You can freeze the soup for next time.
You would not tell the difference !
It is a shame that it has taken a war in Ukraine / cost of living crisis etc to understand the importance of food waste.

About 4 packs of sandwiches, and 8 cakes and a pot of clotted cream 😋
Still good, and like all of em, it does vary. (edited)

We have a Toby carvery and a local carvery on the app, too. The local carvery is brilliant, but I've stopped buying the bags because I can't physically eat all the food in the box within three days! There's an Ibis hotel near me that does amazing cooked full English breakfasts, too - £2.25. Last time I got obey, it had everything you'd expect from a full English, but with 8 sausages, loads of scrambled egg, beans, bacon, hash browns and black pudding. Again, too much food for me, but definitely worth the money!
Also got Tom Horton's, Co-op, Harvester, BP M&S sites, Starbucks, Bewiched Coffee, Waitrose and a few noodle/sushi places on the app for my area.
Handy hint: use the scores to get an idea of how good the bag is going to be. Customers can and do rank each site/bag. (edited)
