Seems cheap for a compact 3 litre stand mixer - good for bread and baking on a budget. Not sure how anyone can spell Stainless Steel incorrectly though. Yours for £34.39 includin… Read more

It has 2 dough hooks like any hand mixer, but you need 1 dough hook which runs in a circle and turns at the same time to achieve the "baker's 8". This machine does not have this facility (Aldi/Lidl £49 machine have it)

It does but like all cheap mixers it has auto switch off at around 5 minutes according to reviews and that really isn’t enough for bread. Reviews also say it’s more for cakes as it’s so lightweight.

It has dough hooks. They'll do.

This mixer is no good for bread making, no rotating dough hook. A hand mixer is more flexible.

The irony.

Glass is rather energy intensive, needing to be heated MUCH hotter than plastics to melt and form. The material is however cheap. Much of the cost (particularly for small quantities) is in transport and distribution. A truckload of one jar style makes it massively cheaper than buying by the dozen! The glass jars themselves are eminently reusable (as long as 100% inspected for cracks, chips and scratches, and then appropriately sanitised.) However the lids (for hygiene and preservation) are best treated as disposable. BUT you can buy replacement lids - with a choice of designs. Some can be had with a 'dimple' to indicate sealing, some with an acid-resistant lining (NEEDED for pickles!) Pick the size(s) and designs you are going to find most useful and invest in a stock of a few hundred. for example Then (the hard bit) dump (recycle natch) ALL the other non-standard size jars you have been hoarding! BTW - another vote for Lidl ('extra') jams. And the thick-cut marmalade (for the price of a jar)...

Mental considering filled Lidl Maribel jam would work out cheaper for a filled jar (and it's actually a nice jam). Glass jars literally cost pennies to make. Just like bottles it cost more to manufacturer from plastic than glass. For jars the process is called press and blow. Reduce, reuse, recycle.

I just checked my ebay history. I listed 18 used Bonne Mamman jars and they sold for £17 inc delivery. So this certainly looks like a great deal for those that may need them.

Looks good

Goes off for a while. Never timed it, but feels like over a minute unless you press the button to stop it.

How long does the alarm go off for? Until you press something or only a few seconds? Wanting a cooker timer alarm that lasts longer than 2 seconds

Bought another item I really don’t need, thanks op (lol) £2.22 off for being a new customer

I think I have this one (or very similar). Works great for me, use it daily. Handy just having it on the fridge. If this is the same, it remembers the last time set when switching it back on. Think I paid a bit less than this though in a sale... although that was before the VAT stuff started.

I'll give them a look (y)

Tefal supermarket range is garbage. I bought from Tefal Comfort Max range in terms of frying pans and they’re very good. More expensive but worth it. In terms of baking trays have you looked at the Pyrex range?

Won’t work for me 😩

Interesting. I've got their knives and some other things so far, but no pots and pans yet. I was looking at their black banking trays - quite punchy at £20-30 but thought it would be worth the money as the usual Tefal/Supermarket options are knackered in 3 months

i ordered to pots and a frying pan, all were damaged. Customer services was great but the actual products were garbage. They ended up refunding and i kept the goods. The non stick started coming off after 2 washes

Amazing Glad to hear. What’s the next job ? (y)

Yup very heavy & excellent quality - another job off to ‘to do’ list (y) :)

Looks heavy and expensive

Got tap today, excellent quality & fitted it straight away which was very easy :) thank you🙏

Sure. It's a different type, but my sink wouldn't hold the weight of the tap posted here, being over 2kg. So went for one of these lighter models. Wayfair has a similar one for £12.99, but just couldn't be bothered for an extra £12 should anything be wrong with it.
