these are rubbish. do not buy unless you want terrible wi-fi outside. my brother got one and he regrets it, but he's stuck with it ruining wi-fi in his garden.

Strange, mine has perfect WiFi signal outside, maybe has a faulty one

If the outdoor box is actually decent it would be worth it to have the box and fix a proper normal socket to the inside...

Failing that I'd remove the WiFi chip inside before deployment. It all depends on how good that weatherproof box actually is.

I’ve removed the white inner socket before. Replaced it for a standard one that I had laying around. Wanted one without the LED power indicators.

Worth it even for just the weatherproof box!

    That's what I was thinking

Good price but note it looks like 2.4Ghz only, shouldnt pose too much of a problem as I guess folk would just be streaming music and/or controlling smart things further from the house.

Ignore me im an idiot - (Different plug) Same price online but out of stock : wilko.com/en-…524 (edited)

Typical something else I didn’t know existed as well, now I’ve got to find one, as again, typical, I missed the deal. Actually it is going to help me a lot, I already have an outside socket that is getting too old, and my son says he is fed up with the Wi-Fi dropping out in his jungle gym house at the top of the garden. Thanks for posting, and the comments. I off to search for one, and “maybe gone for some time”.

Still a few left! Also the £1 tape dispenser mentioned in another thread.

Wonderful. Another "thing I never knew I needed but clearly do now" item. Top price!

these were £8 each a couple of months back IIRC ie,, see hotukdeals.com/dea…450

I bought a few then - £5 is an insane cheap price for these

they have a useful feature where you can turn off the wifi to reduce the power usage - they will always draw some power even with the wifi turned off though

very useful for wifi enabled mowers or any other outdoor tech that needs wifi (edited)

I've got one fitted outside and I'm sure it's slowing down the Internet inside.During the winter months I don't need the WiFi outside ,how would I shut this off.thanks in advance.

Brilliant price, I had a few of these and I’m sure they were £30 each.

This exact model? 30 quid for just 2.4GHz is a rip off

    Great price!

Got one of these in the garden as well as the indoor sockets. Again great for general outside use eg Web browsing, streaming music and videos.

It's technically just the same as the indoor socket but mounted in a outdoor weatherproof box

checked my local wilko today - they had something that looked similar to the photo but it was £13.50

I suspect it was a different product but cannot be certain

I think when it was £8 a couple of months ago they were old sold out of that specific item at my local wilko so not all stores will have stock now assuming this is a discontinued item (edited)

same for me, its Wilko's own brand one which is at £13.50. BG one from this deal has very limited stock in some areas, as cannot check for this product online either.

Available at Wilkinson Basingstoke as well (might be national from the looks of it).
    plenty of stock.

you might want to remove the coventary from the title.

    Good find, thanks
