About this deal

Similiar to the X50 linked yesterday, again a deep discount. Ends up £100 cheaper than the XE75 trio but with similiar performance. Using the power line as the backhaul means the 2.4 and 5ghz channels stay clear.

I thought for a lot of typical British homes this may outperform due to the thick and brick construction but ymmv. Review of performance here

I had these a while ago. The nodes were communicating with each other wirelessly and not via powerline which was hugely disappointing. Upon buying I assumed the backhaul would be through the poweline. I believe at times they did utitlize powerline technology but the speeds were inconsistent so I got rid of them. I wonder if they have now been improved via a software update. Can you configure them so that the backhaul can be used via powerline? If so I would give them another crack. (edited)

Not sure as I was doing research earlier and saw a very large thread on tp links forum on just this issue. Looks like tp link have tried to fix it as thr issue of it preferring wireless over power line seemed widespread. Thanks for sharing your experience
