I bought one on a wim as my P30 pro broke and will probably return it, not a patch on the 3yr old P30, slower charging, no face unlock, feels plastic and cheap, square boring design. Camera is good though. No reverse charge, no wireless charge, WiFi calling not working with lebara network, single SIM....

Can anyone recommend something to replace it pls?

You forgot, it's also only 60Hz refresh rate! I actually have one bought direct from Google with their trade in and i like it but conscious of its limitations.

Still so many people complaining about battery life out of the box.. it's got a tensor chip, it's self learning.. basically the battery life will improve over time, as will the fingerprint scanner. I got it for £195 in the end (after trade in) and I don't think I could find anything comparable for that price

That's pure marketing. It doesn't do anything clever and nothing different to every other phone for last x years. It just turns stuff off that you are not actively using. I guess we are calling everything Machine Learning now.

    > Your fully charged Pixel will work for more than 24 hours under most circumstances,1 as Adaptive Battery uses machine learning to triage apps based on which are more or less important to you. Lesser-used apps that don’t need to be constantly running in the background are pushed out of the device’s memory when you’re finished with them, while the apps that you use more frequently are kept in the memory for faster access.

Ground breaking stuff. Yes, the idea of what's being used more frequently will improve over time. That's by definition!

The battery life on my 6a is ok. Charging is quite slow though and that's what lets it down.

24 hr batteries a shocker for a grand new phone. There's a 3 deal on where you get this phone for free on a 24 month contract with 100gb per month for £14. Way better deal than this one.

John Lewis deal at £299 with £100 bonus on trade in is still available if you have a working phone.

EDIT: link to trade in deals for anyone struggling to find it (it's right at the bottom): https://www.hotukdeals.com/visit/comment/49317503/16146650 (edited)

I took your advice and looked at JL but it appears, to me, that the deal has expired.

£300 no cashback or trade in? freezing..

The guy who laughed at this hasn't seen that this isn't the best price it's been at Amazon in the past few weeks. And considering that there are, and have been, trade-in offers that provide a bonus, this isn't a "hot" deal at all.

Have you got a screen protector on?

Would this e worth £230, in like new condition?
    Bitman's avatar
Yes, that's a pretty good price. If you're after a great camera, nothing in this price range comes close. Otherwise the phone is pretty average.

If Pixels had an IR blaster on them then I would totally buy it!
