Has to be in the shop in-store section, and will be select shops showing it mostly larger stores (particularly Extras)

49490959-O4gu6.jpgAnyone looking for an OLED model (if there's any left!), here's the barcode you can show staff so they can check stock using their PDAs. Might help someone running around like me looking for the boxes and failing.

Staff couldn’t find OLED still for me sadly still shows in stock on their app too

So another episode of HUKD roadtrips ahaha

    Visited the following Tesco stores

Worcester St Peters - had Animal Crossing, Super Mario Bros and Pokemon Arceus
Kidderminster - had Animal Crossing only
Stourbridge - nothing (all sold within first hour)
Cradley Heath - nothing (all sold within first hour)
Dudley - nothing (all sold within first two hours)
Birmingham Springhill - Super Mario Bros, Mario Strikers, all three reduced pokemons, consoles had sold out by 9am apparently
    Solihull - nothing

    Then Currys

Kidderminster - priced matched on Super Mario 3D World + Bowsers Fury and Super Mario Party sadly OLED was OOS at that Currys, so fair enough on refusing to match

Now the fun starts, all the lies, lies and lies

Merry Hill - refused any price match - claim "don't match clearance items"
Selly Oak - refused any price match - claim "Tesco don't have stock though, the app is false"
Birmingham - refused any price match - claim "app isn't true, these prices are specific to one stores" (despite showing at multiple store)
Worcester - refused any price match - claim "they couldn't find the distributer of Tescos stock"

Anyhow, ended up with 5 games, plus helped a fellow member getting Currys Kiddy to match the Mario party for £7.50.

The fact that the reasons for refusing a price match are so different just demonstrates that Currys are looking for and making up literally any excuse not to meet the Terms and Conditions that they themselves set out.

If there was a legitimate reason for refusing other than just "we don't want to lose money" then there'd at least be some consistency in the reasoning given.

    Proof this deal is real.

Please note customer service points don’t open until 7am and sometimes even 8am so u won’t be able to get one unless there’s someone in with a key to enter cabinet/store room.
I went thru most staff one of them checked their staff app lr something and it showed the OLED model as 1 in stock. She went extra mile and found a staff that may have had entry and lucky enough that she did.

She went and checked and didn’t find an OLED model but found the standard one. This was the last one they had

    She checked and confirmed all
The products were on sale for clearance and won’t be restocking she said.
All games gone too and no PlayStation headset.

I showed her OLED model showing as in stock and she said there is none left and that this is the very last console and She said that night shift do take and get first dibs on stuff but she and other staff members don’t get that same access because they come in for 6am opening.

£115 is for the standard and £152 for the OLED. Weird thing is it shows the standard one OOS even though there was one there.

Be polite if u go in and friendly!

If you got her name then I'd email tesco complimenting her. When I worked at sainsburys, you'd get a 10 or 15 quid voucher if you they received good feedback about you.

Not sure if tesco does anything similar but it'll only take 5 minutes (maybe dress it up a bit to make her sound really good!) and she has saved you a lot of money/a wasted trip

I tried Currys chat and they weren't having any of it so I called them on the service on the website and the fella said he can knock a £100 off instead so I got an OLED White for £209.
    Worth a try

Been to 4 Tesco's this morning for any consoles or games.

    Tips :
    - Go straight to customer service don't ask the staff on the shopfloor as they give you unhelpful answers. Customer services will know.

    - Online stock isn't accurate. So don't get your hopes up.

    - Most of the consoles got bought first thing is what I got told each time. So now it's already lunchtime don't expect there to be anything left.

A lot of staff have obviously saved the product for themselves. I got a couple of games and I managed to bag 1 console but that was across 4 tesco supermarkets

People complaining about Currys not price matching should try the pleasure of buying items in curries very own sales when they try and get away with palming off scratched up customer returns as new items....when called out they refuse to supply you a new one just offer to refund your purchase price..... even that's only after they've wasted plenty of your time and given you the run around on the phone and shuttled you back and forth between stores searching for stock they claim is available..... cue the reduced stock to disappear to be replaced with new stock they can order in back at usual price.

If you manage to get curry’s to price match you’re very lucky! They’ve sent out a group call to all store managers telling them to refuse the price match. Once again curry’s suck…
    BabiDealings's avatar
To be fair I wouldn’t match those prices either, Tesco are clearing stock because they want rid of their gaming sections, it’s not exactly a standard sale. Curry’s would be losing money for matching their prices

Anything at NW London pls? Like Brent Cross etc. Thank you.
    ssscratch's avatar
I checked for N/NW London stores availability earlier this morning and there was nothing available. Luckily thought to check Borehamwood Extra stock at 9:30 and showed as available so took the chance and drove down. Was fortunate to get the last one (the staff member initially said that no as they've already stopped selling games/consoles but helpfully radioed someone who said they had 2 at the back - although they came out and said that the one they brought out for me was actually the last one in store :/ ). I picked up the last OLED version but by the time I went to pay for it there were other customers asking the Customer Services desk who said that now they've all been sold.

Hope you get to find one somewhere!
  15. Sqsq's avatar
None in Sandhurst Extra. They don't even have a games section any more. Had to ask at cs desk and was told none left before I even finished asking.

They also have large empty floorspaces and only about a third of the original tills. Wtf is happening with Tesco?

Everyone needs to calm down about Nintendo Stealth launching a new console lol. If they release a new console then trust me, TESCO won't be the first indication that they're doing so. This is just Tesco clearing stock.

People thinking Tesco have an insider in Nintendo is making me chuckle

I also got OLED one in Maryhill. I went to the St. Rollox first but asked first just before me and he got only and last one. But he showed me a big courtesy to drive for me to Maryhill with his car and helped me to get one. So big thanks to him. Thanks to the community for letting me know the deal.

It was a pleasure, nice to meet you again! Hope you enjoy your OLED, felt bad for you and wanted to see you happy so glad it ended well for the both of us this morning

Managed to get Currys to price match after back and forth for half an hour in store. Managed to show them that Wigston had it in stock and after a 15 minute conversation with their Manager they decided to honour. Good luck hunting!

Perhaps the below might help someone in Currys. Worth a shot.

How to price match at Currys | hotukdeals

Might be helpful for some who can't find these at their Tescos but want these deals.

Sadly my local currys said that the product number was slightly different on the Tesco ones to the ones they stock and so couldn’t price match it

They had 8 in stock - 7 now! (edited)

    What a useless goose hunt!!
I went to 3 stores which supposedly had them in stock.
I saw 2 tesco workers buying all of them in front of me, and in another store 2 guys bought 5 switches just before I got there.
And in the 3rd one they said more than 10 people came to ask about it.
Better luck next time I guess.

Blagged one in Airdrie Superstore (may have been the last one). Went to Bellshill Extra first but they had no stock. Don’t think Coatbridge Extra carries any games now. Cheers OP49490637-7f1j7.jpg

This is what I was finding, there is barely anything game related in Tescos Extra now unless you want gift cards. (edited)

Should I trust the app to drive 30min for the console?

Up to you, but the app isn't very acurate unfortunately
  34. pantheruncia's avatar
Anyone done anything else today other than running around chasing Nintendo switch OLED consoles at Tesco's... Then asking every Currys store within a 50 mile radius to see if you can trick them into price matching what is clearly a "Tesco's clearance line price" to get rid of remaining stock. Anyone stop to realise the company would be selling at a loss when still continuing to sell them for the forceable future. Those of you who managed to annoy a store so much that they gave in deserve them honestly as they probably just wanted to help out other customers and get you out the door.
This is a great deal and probably deal of the year but wow seriously some people
    cameron.carter's avatar
It's their own problem for not having their Terms and Conditions exclude clearance sales. They could literally solve this problem if they felt inclined to but they can't be asked; stop simping for corporations.

Would add heat if not expired.

Just brought 10 mins ago. He had to go check in the back, and brought one out. Said it was the last one. No consoles or game on display at all. Showed him the app showing it in stock. (edited)

None in Sidcup or Orpington branch (Orpington one has stopped selling gaming fullstop). Good going to anyone who gets one Heat
