I've got this hob, I paid £135 for it in 2019, it's been ok but I wish I spent more. The button presses are annoying, you have to hold down for a couple of seconds to activate the button, becomes very annoying, plus it doesn't get very hot, the Bosch one it replaced (was smashed) was excellent at getting our wok hot for stir frys etc but this one doesn't get anywhere near as hot. One good thing though is it hasn't scratched as much as the Bosch one.

I'm actually considering replacing my halogen cooker with an induction , for the same reason you are talking about. It just doesn't heat up enough and it's hard to even cook fries or properly heat up a wok.
What should I pay attention to when buying an induction so that I don't have the same problem again?

    Also health implications to consider

Appreciate not everyone has the choice but if you do, I'd always recommend gas hobs over any electric hobs. So much more versatile and controllable

I used to be 100% pro gas hob but wouldn't go back now we've had an induction. So fast and so controllable, setup as a slow cooker with timer, auto off etc.Brilliant.Not to mention the ease of cleaning, literally wipe it over . (edited)

7.2kw so if you're changing from a job thats on the ring main, this will need its own rcd.

hm, this was fine for almost 2 years, then half the "rings" failed, some weird error code, Hisense came out or one of their contractors , maybe a month before warranty ended, fixed it, it lasted about a month, then it broke again, same fault. because it was out of warranty, they will not repair it. even though it was "fixed" a month ago for the same problem.

so, if you want a cheap one that you might get 2 years from its fine i guess.

These are terrible! Buttons malfunction, and emitters fail. Get a quality unit from Bosch or Siemens.

Have a standard electric hob at the moment but would like to get it swapped out for an induction. What brands would people say are the best for them?

I have a Zanussi one which seems really good, they have various models in the range with different features. For example mine has a graded scale 0-9 touch bar control for each individual hob which makes it a breeze to control whereas some you will have to keep pushing + or - to get to the level you want - stuff like that seems minor but makes a big difference

Bought my first proper induction hob back in 2011 and used a counter top single induction hob for a while before that and in that time i have tried gas and all manor of electric hobs and nothing comes close to a good induction hob with a proper pan.

A good induction hob with good quality pans (not the aluminium pans with a tiny steel insert) are amazing. We just switched our gas hob for a very expensive induction after having induction before. No idea on this one though, but from experience the pans make the difference not the hob. If you want to use tefal, pans then avoid, you have to use solid steel / cat iron for induction. (edited)

Looks great, pity the dimensions are different to the cut out in my worktop, I have the regular 600 X 520 hole, I convinced myself to get rid of a cracked ceramic one we have, but such a big decision as I have never had induction.

I wonder why built in inductions never have temperature control, only power control.

Even basic plug in stand alone induction hobs have this feature which is exceedingly helpful.

only ever had the one portable hob and it never had a temp control, but when you think about it then why have a temp control when they do not produce heat?

I've got a different model of this brand and love it. Would never go back to gas. Agree gas it's slightly nicer to use but nothing that causes me an annoyance. I LOVE the cleaning of these hobs as it's so easy compared to a gas hob
