To those who missed it, don't worry too much. I own two DJI drones, and I consider myself a 'outdoors' and tech guy, and I'd say I only get the drone out a handful of times a year if that (more often in summer). Last time I flew it was around October last year, however I'm planning to take it out tomorrow for something.

Others may have different opinions, but with drones, people buy them and then fly them a few times before they sit there collecting dust. Before I bought my drones, I looked at loads of 2nd hand ads and the general consensus was that people were selling as they don't really get used much. Don't get me wrong, whenever I go on holiday I always take it with me to get some nice shots of me and the GF, but they tend to sit around on the shelf for a fair bit. I thought I'd be using it every week (and I did in the first month I bought it), but it then becomes a occasional thing.

Also unfortunately most it the nicest spots are national parks etc so you can't fly everywhere...

Not saying i dont fly but as you said most of the time I carry drone with 3 batteries most of my hikes/trips and don't really fly

In the last 24 hours there has been about about 90 new listings on eBay for the DJI Mini 3 Fly More Combo - I think there's going to be a lot of people making a lot less profit than they are anticipating. (edited)
    hurk87's avatar
It’s not that surprising but still sad that the stock got snapped up by people seeking to take advantage of the situation and make a profit instead of actually buying the drone for themselves. Loads of people who actually wanted it missed out

Item is back in stock with the correct price £828

Buying for profit or buying for personal use is the same thing.

Both are looking to take advantage of a pricing error. Nether are Nobel. I get that people are bitter that they missed out but I don't get how they can say the things they say with a straight face.
    mike_6480's avatar
That's not quite true. Buying just to sell is both
    1) taking advantage of a pricing error
    2) stopping someone else that wanted it a d would actually use it, buying for a reasonable price.

If you bought for yourself you are only taking advantage of point 1, not point 2.

while 282 is a great price. i am not sure £599 is a bargain.

Its much inferior product compared to Mini 3 pro. I cannot stress that enough. anyone forking £599 our and not going for mini 3 pro is making a mistake.

(if you are doing the arbitrage and selling on then its fine (i wouldn't do that personally))

but for features you are losing at £599 agsint mini 3 pro its not worth the saving.
    sparx1981's avatar
Ah I but I did pay £280, plus £85 for 2 years insurance from DJI refresh, plus £13 for a 128gb card, plus £13 for a lens protector.... still way cheaper than a DJI Mini 3 pro.

Normally I'd prefer the pro too. You're not wrong, but the price difference on this deal was massive. Also the youtube reviews of obsticle avoidance with pretty much any DJI drone isn't amazing. Yes it's better than no avoidance, but it's also not amazing.

My plan, is enjoy this Mini 3 for as long as I can. I have the DJI refresh so I can always get it replaced and can sell it on in a couple of years. In theory giving me a leg up on a Mini 5 or whatever is out then

Has anyone take out the drone warranty that is on the when you set it up ? Is it worth getting?
    sparx1981's avatar
I bought the warranty the drone itself seems quite fragile so I got the 2 year warranty for 85.

Went in to store and although it's available (in stock or order) the price is now £828
    robocop999's avatar
That may be the Mini 3 Pro?
  22. sparx1981's avatar
I see videos online of people dragging a box over a person or place to focus the drone on that person when it's flying... how do you do that with the mini 3.

Is it only on the pro? Or is it only in quickshots? Or am I doing something wrong? (edited)
    Merls's avatar
I understand the mini 3 has quick shots and spotlight, where you can drag a box over an object, spotlight works really well.

The only thing it's missing compared to the Mini 3 pro is active tracking, where it will automatically follow a moving object, this is due to the lack of obstacle avoidance sensors. (edited)

Opened mine to find there was no additional batteries or charger. It had been opened and resealed by someone at the store. Went back to complain and of course they are all out of stock. Spoke to the manager and told them that this is the kit that is missing so they have me the pro fly more kit free.

I was literally in the bath when I saw this on HUKD, shouted to the wife I'll pay you £50 to drive to Sainsbury's, she's like no chance, so I jumped out, T shirt on and in the car, twenty mins later hair still wet and looking greasy as chip fat Kath the lady at Argos happily and probably eager to get rid of me handed over the DJI lol. You just can't hang around on these kinds of deals! (edited)

My mate tasked me with finding a good deal on a mini 2 a few weeks ago for his boy, I managed to get one of these for collection in his home town and snapped it up for him. He's just gone and collected it. To say he's happy with the deal is an understatement I think. Thanks OP

Yep the entire product listing has been removed. As has the member of staff who made the pricing error I imagine. Hopefully he/she gets a job at Canon next as I need a cheap camera.
    Blitz8448's avatar
He/she probably already handed in their notice with a new job lined up prior to this pricing error...

I can’t talk for those who’re selling it but for drone enthusiasts / first time flyers who missed this, you’re not missing much. The new drone in Mini series - SE 2 will be released in March for about £300 - which is a great beginner drone. The Mini 2 has picture quality on par with Mini 3, which you can get for about £400.

Sometimes it’s not about getting the best thing, it’s about getting the right thing. Skill matters. Mini 2 or SE doesn’t have obstacle detection which forces you to learn. You can achieve the same result of Mini 3 with a Mini 2 in most cases. And don’t worry about the kit, a power bank will do to keep your battery charged while travelling.
    ufoo's avatar
Wouldn't touch old mini SE due to very poor signal. Mini 2 is great and haven't crashed mine yet (just cut my GFs nail during landing on her hand lol)
