Wow, what a price for the Inspire and a m4/3 sensor/mount based camera. I have a Mavic 2 Pro and while its sensor is a big upgrade over the 1/2.3in it's still the smallest of the 'big' sensors but I think the Inspire is just too bulky for my use.

Is that feature much use? If you follow the drone code you should be safe anyway?? The better feature would be class rating so the drone doesn’t become a legacy drone in 2 years time.

True but DJI control the pricing on these, there seems little market in cheap Chinese batteries for DJI drones for some reason.

This is a great gimbal that I've used a few times on shoots, but if you're using one for the first time make sure to take some time learning how to set it up perfectly, you can't just simply put the camera in and go. There's a slight learning curve, but once that's over you can get some really lovely smooth shots with it. Also make sure your camera + lens are under the max weight before buying. Great price though 👌

Define quick? A 32GB card can hold between 20 and 72 minutes of 4K footage depending on frame rate. A lot of GoPro youtubers prefer 24-30 FPS for cinematic look and those that shoot at 60 often prefer flat colouring at 1080 for better results. 32GB card is fine for most people, battery will die before the card fills up. 2 x 32GB cards is enough for most people to have a day out or shoot for YouTube

kobrakaan1

If your going to use the Gimbal as intended for decent shots and video footage 32gb will be pretty useless and fill up far too quick when recording in 4k you'll be churning through approx 270mb a minute at 30fps and will change depending on what framerate your using HEVC 60fps would be around 400mb per minute my ultra records in 8k

kobrakaan1

so your really getting £4 back if you still deduct the shipping fee of £3.95

CoolerKing_VH

You can add in a range of memory cards for 40%. The SanDisk Extreme 90MBs Micro SD 4K Ready Memory Card - 32GB can be bundled with the deal for £7.99.

Most comparison I have seen now would probably favour the DJI after all the firmware updates

Msx98

Krystufer: Most YouTube comparisons to gopro equivalents show that it’s got nothing on gopro. Picture quality is not as good. Perhaps when they first came out, but plenty talk about the screen being bigger and snappier and there being two on the osmo, as well as the microphone being better. Also the gopro is probably more saturated and less natural than the osmo. But overall the hero 8 is a better camera than this but most reviews say the osmo and the 7 Black are comparable. Plus one thing I know about the 7 and the 8 is they get very hot recording in 4k which can't be good for longevity. This gives an idea of the osmo's latest firmware.

Manfrotto 209 pocket metal tripod can be had for £15 inc delivery if you shop around. Though you may need a thread converter to accommodate the 1/4" screw on the gimbal. Also, the Fotopro Ufo with flexible legs has positive reviews - though the "basic" version without the ball head might be better because it supports more weight and has lower centre of gravity.

Cheapest price I've seen. Yes the 2 is out now, but this is still a great drone for the money.
Sp0oner

I have just sold my Mavic Air and bought the Air 2 and the difference is massive. There is no way i'd spend this on a Mavic Air fly more combo i'd rather have the Air 2 for £769 and then worry about the fly more combo as a separate purchase at a later time. The Mavic Air is a fantastic drone I loved mine and the size is just perfect but the technology upgrades you get on the Air 2 are massive and worth the upgrade.

ap123ap

I purchased a mini 2 weeks ago and I would class it as a ‘capable toy’. Flimsy, throws a hissy fit with small amounts of wind and extended WiFi is horrendous. Great camera and pretty easy to control if conditions are ideal. These conditions are pretty rare in the UK though. Needless to say I don’t own it anymore. I am now on the hunt for an Air 2.

echobase

You could do that but it would be illegal. You need to read the drone code. Not allowed to fly beyond line of sight or further than 500 metres away.

AlpineTrails

Wish I knew before ordering mine. But.. arrived two days ago already. At first I was a bit surprised about the weight.. With the mounts and everything.. is heavier than my 5y old Sony.. Will see how that feels on my helmet when climbing. Leaving that aside, did a few recording tests and thought others might be interested. Battery seems to last about 60-70 min at 4K 60fps. 24min rec - 4K 60 fps - 24C room temp - 36% battery used. Very hot.. lens ring so hot I burned my hand. It still recorded though. Got colder in less than a min after stopping. 7 min rec - 4K 30fps - 20.5C room temp - 15% batter used. Very warm. After this I bought a Sandisk Extreme Pro class 3 card: 20 minutes rec - 4k 60fps - 22C room temp - 24% battery used. Warm. It seems like a high speed card dramatically improves the performance. ( used a class 1 before) Therefore the camera doesn't overheat anymore. That is great news as I was quite worried and almost thought of contacting DJI. The footage quality is fantastic and so is the IS.. from as much as I could test it in the garden. What I don't like: Wish it had a wider FOV. it's exactly the same as my old Sony AS100 which was launched years ago. Wish they had a screw mount as Insta360 One does rather than the plastic cage. Footage seems to be cut in 6min parts, however it still records so it's not a big deal Can't swap screens while recording. Hope this gets fixed with firmware update Can't turn off screen while using the phone app. Or maybe I just didn't figured it out yet. But this drains battery quite quickly. I obviously knew all the above before buying it. I hope to see some improvements with new updates. But also what Osmo 2 brings. Hopefully not too soon. I don't want to be buying other camera this year :)) Enjoy ur cameras!

Relikum

_Jay_Kay_

This comment isn't directly related to mounting bracket, but the osmo pocket has to be one of the worst gadgets I've bought in a long time. It sounded great on paper but its one of the most impractical gimbals I've come across, the screen is way too small, and to get any useful control of it you have to buy a bunch of accessories. It only becomes useful when you plug it into your phone, but that requires you to set it up each time you want to use it rather than just point and shoot. May as well buy a cheaper mobile phone gimbal and carry it around wherever you go. No doubt some pro-videographer out there will disagree. Good job amazon's return policy meant I could send the osmo back.

Which portable tripods work well with this gimbal? Anyone tried the FotoPro Ufo? (it has flexible legs a bit like the Gorrilapod but looks better). Does a ball mount add any benefit when used with a gimbal?

greenant

It's a shame DJI don't support the most powerful video recording software (Filmic Pro). Filmic expressed keen interest in supporting this gimbal since last year but DJI never sorted their API out. So in short, if you currently intend to make cinematic videos, don't get this gimbal.

Received mine. I noticed there is a screw for a counter balance. Does anyone know the best one to get for an iPhone 8? The instructions suggest the counter balance is only really needed for larger phones like the iPhone 8 Plus, but the more balanced the phone is presumably the less stress on the motors and the longer the battery life, and the iPhone 8 is off centre to avoid the volume buttons. And someone mentioned (in this thread I think) that they'd experienced motors burning out on two of their Osmo Mobile 3 gimbals so I'd like to avoid that. Also, any suggestions on a decent mini tripod? That's turning out to be a bit of a minefield too. Ideally want an inexpensive robust metal one. Even better if it has height adjustments.

el-grosso

bigboy221166

Lol. I too have this but have only used it once. I bought mine on day of release. Another impulse buy. Great piece of kit tho.

greenant

Ordered one. I went for this one (verses the combo) in the theory I could shop around for a better mini tripod. Quite a few of them on Amazon. Any favourites? Haven't decided which one to get yet. Time will tell if I regret this decision due to lack of hard case. Benefit of this over Osmo version 2 is it uses the new app. Though there's a few complaining about excessive battery drain so will see. This has been out quite a while now and version 4 can't be far around the corner. With LumaFusion on special for iPad this should churn out some nice videos.
