Launch isn’t too bad. If you crash I sometimes need to reset the controller before I takes off again. Control wise I didn’t find it too bad and I’m a drone novice. Only problems I had were either me of gusts of wind. Compared to a drone that normally retails at £60 its way better.

These were posted from sky for about £45 or so yesterday or the day before

Also, thanks original poster, just ordered one for my dad's birthday (he loved the one I got, still sitting on display in his house).

They have a training mode which and auto launch/land features which makes them fairly easy to control indoors, would take a bit of practice to use the other speeds.

What are they like to control? I have read reviews saying difficult to control and problems with the motor and propellers. Very tempted to buy the Tie Fighter at this price.

Parrot Bebop Drone with Skycontroller - Blue / Assorted Colours £199.99 @ Amazon / Argos

Although it is a 3 year old product, it is a very reasonable price for a still very capable drone. The drone can be controlled via an Android / iOS app through your mobile device … Read more

Have a look at my YouTube channel from the video I posted earlier. It has some Deshi footage. Problem was I went for 2 weeks in Monsoon season and I had very brief periods when it wasn't raining. Also don't fly it in town or built up areas if you want to keep your drone. Stick to the villages!

Thanks for the info. I have a potential Thailand, India and Bangladesh trip at the end of this year so will look into any potential issues with taking one with me. Capturing scenes from the sky in those locations would be immense!

I read some stuff about this before I flew and was quite nervous about flying with it. Apparently they got banned because some idiots decided to fly it above cricket matches as they were being played. I actually took it through both. I flew into Dhaka with Qatar Airways then flew into Sylhet with a domestic flight (Biman). I didn't have any problems. I did try to sell it out there but didn't get offered more than £25 So I ended up bringing it back with me the same way.

Hey Abu. Which airport did you take this via? Was it Dhaka or Sylhet? And did you have any issues passing customs / security? I ask because I was there recently and know someone who was stopped and had their drone confiscated! Apparently they are banned in Bangladesh?! I haven't looked into how true this is or not. Wondering if you'd had any trouble.

Sorry. You thought wrong....

That might be printed in the t’s and c’s but I was talking about real world and what happened when I actually used it.

I wonder how they define “region”. What about those who live in the UK but who bought from Amazon Italy

Taken from DJI FAQ. DJI Care Refresh and the corresponding product must be purchased from the same country or region. DJI Care Refresh only supports aircraft purchased from official or authorized channels, and its benefits are only eligible in the region where it was purchased. DJI will cover shipping fees only in the country or region where DJI Care Refresh was purchased. Otherwise, the customer will bear responsibility any shipping and customs fees caused by sending the product from another region. DJI has the right to refuse service in this circumstance. For the Mavic series and Spark,

I highly doubt DJI will feel threatened by Parrot.

If the lack of a stabilized gimbal is acceptable to you, dive on. I went for a Xiaomi Mi Drone 4k which does admittedly cost another hundred at least but does pull in some superb landscape footage. As for the law, yeah. Countryside or nothing. If you can afford a drone you can afford bus fare. Londoners have it harder though, I guess it takes ages to get out of the city.

The tighter regulation was inevitable. It needed it. Yes there are idiots out there but even the supposedly non-idiots can have a bad day and lose control ....or film something or someone that they shouldn’t. If you look at the hobbiests that fly planes and helicopters you don’t see them flying around housing estates. They go for open fields away from everyone. Understandably this kept them to a degree off the FAA radar (so to speak). Some drone flyers think they can fly anywhere such as over a crowd of people at a football match or at an airport. These kinds of folks are the ones you’ve got to slap regulation tightly around

I have the Breeze kit, excellent starter, good photos, easy to use... Make sure its calibrated and flown within the rules!

Only a steal if you’re willing to accept the restrictions that come with using these now thanks to all the idiots that ruined it for the rest of us! New tests coming into force too now as well.

I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to take one of these to the park. Or anywhere else where there's likely to be a gathering of people.

These are rebranded Syma X5C's with a wifi camera - this is about the going rate for one landed in the UK, or you can buy them from ebay/banggood etc for about £40 depending on currency fluctuations. Its not a *bad* deal, but its also not an amazing price either - the warranty sounds good but it doesn't cover crash damage which is the most likely cause of these things going wrong. It's not really suitable for FPV either as the camera lag will make you sick, but then thats not it's real purpose...and will be fine for flying as intended using a phone mount. On the plus side, Syma do make decent budget quadcopters and parts for the X5C are readily available so its easy enough to repair in most cases. Extra batteries are very cheap too.

You will end up w You will up with a one day warranty when it tumbles from 100 feet like a rock :p maxmix

By the way the drone-only version is the cheapest it's been according to CCC at £290

https://www.parrot.com/uk/itscoming#itscoming May or may not be a consumer product, but one is due, the bebop 2 is a few years old right?

£379 currently on Amazon, same as Argos: http://www.argos.co.uk/product/6528201 New model on the way??

Actually, they have a much better routing option (for making routes that the drone follows). They are also much better at tracking subjects...and that camera is far more durable than the gimble on something like the Spark. Speaking of the Spark, the Bebop 2 has nearly double the flight time and costs significantly less. It's a nice alternative

DJI Mavic Air Drone (Refurbished) at Scan for £560.50 delivered

Thanks, I have ordered after reading your comment.

Just purchased one; much cheaper than buying 2nd hand. Managed to get free delivery so 549.00 all in with 12 months warranty according to the advisor and weblink.

In the Q&A it says the 3 month warranty is from DJI. That's very limited. > This listing is for the drone/controller only. We do not have specific details of the refurbishment as they are manufacture refurbished and we have numerous units that may differ in refurbishment. These drones come with a 3 month warranty direct with DJI.

I too am interested in this. I just bought one after months of holding it off. Also wondering what the warranty is gonna be like, Scan website says 3 months. The manufacturer's warranty should be 12 months no?

The Mavic air shoots 4k at 30fps.

Lol just sold my mavic air for £790 on ebay wasn’t even combo.

Do you have a link to this?

After having DJI refresh on my Pro and Air in recent years... this time I will just go with photoguard insurance which is £28 per year. From what I gathered on facebook, when people crashed their Mavic they got brand new replacements and Photoguard paid out with no issues/paid for any repairs. DJI Refresh is nothing more than an extended warranty and there are so many exclusions... IMHO photoguard cover plus insuring your drone under tech pack from Barclays or your own bank is more than enough. Regarding registering your refurbished drone, you can still get DJI care on a used unit, just have to record a video showing that it's fully working and upload it to DJI.

Half price looks miles cheaper than has been on hot deals before

Wow look amazing. Presentation is astounding with the musical box!!!

funny thing it, i don't regret it! The packaging is best the packaging i've seen on any electronic product. Lighting and Star Wars music (10 different songs/scenes) comes on when you open the lid. Hats off to Propel

£250 (shock) (shock)

5 Minutes is misleading. They get 10 minutes battery life off a 30 minute charge, they also have 2 batteries each that are easily clipped into the drone, so you actually get 20 minutes. I know this because i bought mine at £250 when they first came out.. now i'm buying my second so i can play laser tag! :)

At this price, these are around a third of their retail price you would've paid on Amazon or Toys R US at their launch and are around the same price as you would pay for any decent star wars upmarket toys. There have been lesser star wars drones, such as the popular millennium falcon, which have cost more than this. You are getting a hell of a lot for your money at this price. And any star wars fan would jump at these at this price. Having said that, the zavvi Masterchief Bluetooth speaker sell off showed that they are not afraid to pass off faulty goods as a "bargain". But at least you can get your money back if that's the case with these. And even if it didn't work at all, you still have a hell of a talking point to show off. It's just a pity Propel never managed to get the falcon to production.

Once you've purchased you get a DPD tracking code shortly after. You don't get any updates for a few days though, presumable while it ships from China to the UK before passing to you with DPD...unless they have some in stock in the UK already. I guess the platinum is a bit quieter than the Mavic Pro with Platinum props, but only at close quarters could you tell the difference - as soon as you get about 10 metres away of more you could not tell the difference.

From the angle in your avatar, where can we sign up? :)

And a blowjob every day! (devil)

Hi, thanks for the reply. So do you think apart from the flight time being a little bit more, the motors emit the same noise as in the pro, it's just the oscillation from the props? If so, then that makes my mind up, just to get the pro :)

Only go for the combo if - you need more than 1 battery (most will), you want the bag (which is useful) & you can get the combo for about £100-£150 more than the Mavic Pro on it's own; otherwise you can buy these parts easily & personally I don't need 3 batteries, 2 is enough. It's not really worth paying much more for the Platinum because you can buy the platinum props that give you much of the benefit of the platinum. I have a Plainum - it's great, but it's not really any different than the Pro other than the props & slightly different motors (& paint job)
