Coming down in price again, few retailers selling £20 cheaper on Amazon, but will be a maximum of 5 year warranty if that? as doesn't actually state it in description. But at least you know what you're getting before purchasing at Richer Sounds

Evo - enhanced
LG’s Evo panel maximised OLED’s already impressive picture performance. Brighter and clearer than ever, Evo is a big step up. Now, even Evo has just got better. With this LG 55 inch TV, you get new heat dissipation technology, which makes the picture even brighter than the original Evo screen. For lifelike, brilliant images, the LG OLED55G26LA is simply the best of the best.

Made for the wall – Gallery design
No deeper than a typical heating controller, this slimline, ‘Gallery’ design TV takes pride of place in your room, without dominating it. The latest G-series OLED TVs have a slimmer bezel for even sleeker style. The supplied wall bracket mounts the TV flush to the wall, giving this TV a stunning appearance. (Please note, stand not included but LG ST-G26ST55 stand is available as an additional cost option).

Alpha 9 Gen 5 processing for improved sound and vision
Now in its fifth generation, LG’s mighty Alpha 9 processor optimises sound and vision for spectacular results. Using AI technology, the picture and sound are optimised to best suit the genre – be it movies, sport, gaming or regular TV. With enhancements to picture tone-mapping, background enhancement and upscaling, picture processing is more advanced than ever. Virtual sound channel up-mixing increases from 5.1.2 to 7.1.2, giving an even more enveloping sound on the LG OLED55G26LA.

AI Picture /Sound Pro for professional sound and vision
Using a huge database of over one million visual date points, AI Picture Pro uses deep-learning algorithms to recognise content, remove noise and optimise the picture. AI Sound Pro leans from more than 17 million audio data points, identifying voices, effects and frequencies. From here, it optimises the sound by genre, giving a more natural sound quality.

Ultimate detail - Dolby Vision IQ
For ultimate detail, in all environments, this LG OLED features Dolby Vision IQ. Dolby Vision IQ version uses data within the signal and light sensors inside the TV to adjust the picture quality for the best contrast. This improves the picture’s brightness, without ‘washing out’ the depth. You get a consistent picture quality, however light or dark your room is. Whether you’re watching a brightly lit sports event or moody movie, Dolby Vision IQ adjusts to suit.

See the picture exactly as originally intended, with Filmmaker Mode
If you’re mad about movies, you’ll love Filmmaker Mode. Designed in collaboration with filmmakers and Hollywood studios, Filmmaker Mode lets you experience the cinematic vision, exactly as the director intended. Overriding the TV’s own motion and picture processing, Filmmaker Mode presents the correct aspect ratio, colour and frame rate – just as the filmmakers intended.

Made for gaming – with Game Optimiser and more
The improved Game Optimiser utilises an enhanced gaming menu, giving you quick access to important settings. There are now five game genre presets, including a new one for sports games. Equipped with 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 sockets, this LG TV is designed to get the very best from today’s, and future, games consoles. ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) mean that your TV automatically adjusts to the optimised settings for gaming – giving you a smoother and faster response.

4.2 multi-speaker system, AI Sound Pro and Dolby Atmos compatible sound
Featuring an enhanced, 4.2 speaker system, the OLED55G26LA offers more impressive sound than lower models. Power is also up 50% to 60 watts – giving a richer, room-filling sound. Using AI algorithms, AI Sound Pro up-mixes two-channel audio to virtual 7.1.2 sound – producing a much more immersive sound and enhanced dialogue. With a Dolby Atmos processor built-in, this LG 55” TV decodes Atmos sound tracks - giving you the potential for even more enveloping audio.

Welcome home, with LG webOS 22 – the best in smart TV
Widely regarded as one of the best smart TV platforms, LG’s webOS system continues to set the standard. The latest webOS 22 offers improved personalisation and recommendations. You can create up to six personalised profiles, with individual viewing suggestions, sport alerts and app lists.

NFC Magic Tap for content mirroring around your home
You can access your webOS TV profile via your smartphone with the NFC Magic Tap app. Even better, NFC Magic Tap lets you mirror content from your mobile to the TV – and not just a single TV. You can mirror content from one TV in your home, to another, using the Room To Room Share function. This lets you view cable or satellite content on multiple screens, without the need for additional set-top boxes.

The hub of your home entertainment – with voice control
Featuring LG’s ThinQ AI technology, you can control a Home IoT ecosystem with natural voice recognition. With both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa built-in, it makes it even easier to control your LG OLED TV and quickly access the entertainment you’re looking for.

A joy to behold when off but stunning when on, the LG OLED55G26LA is a TV that has it all.

Good price, but looking up the stand is hard to find. Think I will just wait for the Sony A95K to drop back down to £1600

You don't have to get the official stand, there are plenty of vesa stands available

I think this is a good deal C2 is only £100 less G2 is quite a upgrade over the C2

20-30% brighter for a start as it has a heatsink. Only downside is if your not wall mounting you will have to buy a vesa stand. (edited)
    gummby's avatar
C2 can be had for £1049 elsewhere.

The problem is with this type of thinking, you will never end up actually buying anything. Of course the longer you wait the bigger the reduction generally as new models and tech creep out. But surely it's better to just buy it and start enjoying what is a class TV straight away at an already discounted price?!
    danston's avatar
    Agree.

Also... If you wait for the deepest discounts, you may have issues actually finding one in stock!

1200 for a 55" flagship oled is a good deal imho.

Cheapest was £1009/1029 so far, not long time ago

Who sold this model at that price, not seen it go below £1150 personally

Is this worth upgrading to from a B7? Anyone?
Also, do i understand correctly it doesn't come with a stand??
    bbear690's avatar
No stand. And they seem impossible to find. Retail around £200 I think, if you could find one.

    This or Sony A90J 55 inch ?
    TechFiend's avatar
Remember the G2 is for wall mounting mostly, doesn't come with a table stand.

Both are excellent, but the G2 is newer.

Have a look on Rtings and assess the differences. See what suits your situation better. (edited)

Understand the supplied mount allows it to sit flush but where does the plug go? Is there a recess?
    TechFiend's avatar
Yes, it's recessed. Check Youtube, this is something I wanted to know recently.

I was close to getting a 55inch C2 for the same price 😳. Does the warranty cover burn in from here?
Can anyone recommend a good TV stand that can be used?
    jungleboy123's avatar
G2 does, thats because it has a heatsink so LG doesnt have to worry unless you abuse it i guess lol.
  9. richstroller's avatar
I have this. Replaced an E8 that developed dead pixels.

The G2 is a much better picture (and the E8 was great), but the biggest improvement has been the sound. The G2 sound is far superior.

Is it worth to buy now or wait for further reductions ?
    spark10002001's avatar
Wait until I buy, then it will plummet in price.
  11. jungleboy123's avatar
if only this was the price for the 65" eh? My plasma died, i need one for the main now.
    rollin182's avatar
My plasma still keeps going. Shame they dont still make them as they are great tv's in my opinion.

I have bought 55 G1 and pay around £1300 year ago and really happy with the TV

Why I bought G1 again cheaper C1 or else because this TV is so slim and plus it is all in "metal" case

For me it is 2 big reason why i will be buy G2 again C2

1 The OLED panel in protected case " I personally do not like idea that glass 8mm sticking out of C1 etc and to break this glass it is so easy just need harder push and it will break

So when you have kids you need to think about everything

2 Slim factor on the wall The TV just 2 cm from wall etc where C1 i think around 6 cm or more

3 The TV wall brackets is is the package do not need to buy so minus £20-30 or more

If someone thinking C2 or G2 my choise G2 without thinking (edited)

What if u don't want to mount it on wall
  13. Phil_Blake's avatar
I'm asking exactly the same question... For the G2 this isn't bad, is it?
  14. DavidTaffJones's avatar
    65'' is £1999 with a soundbar worth £999 (edited)
    Speedsurfer's avatar
Just be aware that soundbar is inflated in price to make it look like a better deal than it is. If you are looking to sell it then you'd be lucky to get £250 for it. Actual value if you are going to use it is probably higher but there are cheaper sound bars that are much better.
  15. gummby's avatar
This has been 1209 for a while elsewhere.

Interestingly AO show a number of the C2 models now on clearance. The code for B2 would allow £799 if it worked. No 5 year warranty.

I’ve got the Evo G1, and it’s such a good set. I prefer the design of the G2. This is a good deal

Do these still have screen burn issues? I have an lg oled, new five yrs ago, that now has bands across it from sky sports news wathching. Never been paused on it, just cumulative hours has done it.
    P1121's avatar
John Lewis offer 5 year burn in warranty with their protect plus accidental damage cover. One off cost of that cover usually £90 or £150 on TV's.
This model offers some burn in warranty coverage via its LG 5 year panel warranty. I emailed LG to enquire specifically whether it covers burn in/image retention. They replied the following-:

I have taken a look into this for you and the way this warranty works is that the first year is the manufacturers warranty that covers everything except accidental damage. It covers all parts, labour, VAT, courier fees etc. so the repairs are free of charge, Once past the 12 months, this G series OLED then has 4 years of screen only warranty which covers the cost of the screen parts only, greatly discounting the cost of repairs but, you would still be quoted for labour, VAT etc. for this. This also does not cover accidental screen damage but, will cover a panel replacement for all panel defects including Image retention (screen burn).

Can't wait till I can afford one of these
  19. Superhotseller's avatar
What's the difference between the C2 and the G2? Is it worth the premium?
  20. sanguineraven's avatar
Now showing as £1499. I hesitated too long having finally decided on a C2 and 55" instead of 65" - I need to extend/build a false wall and was going to make a recess for the C2 then this G2 popped up and I thought it was going to be a waste putting it in a recess rather than flush on a wall!

I am hoping Costco will have C2 or G2 in at a decent price in the next month or two.
    no_excuse's avatar
Costco do not stock the G Series ☹️
