C'mon its £10 these are secondary lights and the fittings do the job (edited)

They are very old school, USB rechargeable lights are lighter and brighter, and no more expensive if you avoid 'brand tax'.

Bike lights are so frustrating to find out if they are suitable/safe for what you need.

    Within the text it says:

Simple to install to the bike or attach to bags, they make ideal secondary lights to keep you seen while out riding.

So for me that suggests they aren't bright enough to use at night on their own.

As long as you are aware of that then they look ok.

Definitely, these are purely for being seen with, they won't light up anything beyond your front wheel. As mentioned, not sure why you wouldn't go for USB rechargeables instead.

Lights for bicycles, what a novel idea! I wonder if they'll ever catch on?

Can't recommend these, single use batteries included which simply adds to landfill. Come on Cateye, in this day and age.
Spend a little more and be significantly safer with more powerful lights. As mentioned, these should have been redesigned years ago to incorporate a USB rechargeable capability instead.
Poor light output, grotty fittings and increased landfill from batteries means I'm out. Not voted either way - you might have a desperate need for these (I can't think what it might be though).
