  2. geordiesamuel's avatar
Can you get the VOLT benefit with this?
    MrPieUK's avatar
Must be with o2 for the volt benefits

Virgin mobile does a credit check even when you are already a customer and want to renew the contract.

    I get :
Sorry! We checked your home address and our records show that you aren’t an existing Virgin Broadband, TV or home phone customer.
We've refreshed your basket by moving you onto alternative plans and updated your prices and discount accordingly.

Even though I am a broadband customer!

UPDATE: It appears your email address needs to match your Virgin contact email address to work (Even though it says it checks the address) (edited)

Just answer 'No' to the first question - the only advantage being a VM customer brings is unlimited free Virgin to Virgin calls - big whoop.

I'm a virgin and always have signal.

Says more about you than the network 👀

Hmmm, good deal, but will it be impacted by RPI this year? It’s like 18% for Virgin.
    gazm2k5's avatar
I think if it's before April then yes.
I got a text from virgin saying mine will go up by 13.4% inflation + 3.9%, (17.3%).

So this deal will be £8.22 probably.

Very poor service on 4G. Just left virgin last week. shift back to EE .
    bharathomes's avatar
Agreed when im on the go 80% on the time i have no data

    Price goes up in July.
So their statement that it reverts to £7 after 3 months is almost a lie. At best you will get 1 month at £7 before they jack it up for no reason.

RPI Adjustments: From July 2021 (and every July after that) your airtime plan will increase by the Retail Price Index (RPI) rate of inflation announced in April of that year. We’ll give you 30 days’ notice of the exact increase. (edited)

What network do Virgin piggy back on? (edited)

O2 as far as I’m aware

    They’ve left EE

I took out a contract few months ago left BT only due to price. Service has been awful with virgin i now regret it.

I find signal ok, but 5G speeds are about 20 times slower than 3 network when I was using Smarty

These initial months half price always seem like a swizz to me
    iGlad's avatar
I’ve never seen ‘swizz’ in writing before 😳

When does this offer end? My contract is up in June and I would like to try this. Not sure how long I can wait.
    StaceyQ's avatar
Virgin Mobile might not exist by then. These are getting migrated to the main O2 brand over the next few months.

For some reason I ordered 20GB plan and I received the confirmation email , but later it got cancelled automatically, I don’t know what happened and I called the customer service they said they don’t have this plan available?????

My o2 service is horrible enough so I dread to think what this would be like.

just did some speed checks on iPhone 13 Pro Max, I live nowhere near a decent tower.

Left virgin mobile earlier on the year.

But if going on holiday to europe this could be a good deal - just get a month for data roaming - then leave when you are back!

They charge £10 just for £1gb!
    mrjh's avatar
Smarty would be a better choice. No credit check.
  17. Sprintz's avatar
    Ordered! But via quidco
  18. 7HOT's avatar
How long after joining can you cancel and still get the cashback? You could make a profit on this deal

I signed up for this offer last Saturday, my sim came Monday. Top cash Back already payable.

30 Day Contract offers - half price for 3 months (price rises after 3 months)

    £3.50/month for 15GB, +£16 TCB (rises to £7/month after 3 months)
    £4/month for 20GB, +£16 TCB (rises to £8/month after 3 months)
    £5/month for 25GB, +£20 TCB (rises to £10/month after 3 months)

Runs on O2 network and will at some point move to being an equivalent O2 Contract.
  20. TristanDeCoonha's avatar
A free sim with inclusive 15GB etc by the time TCB pays out, just in time to save me as my 1p Lebara is due to end

The cashback rates are now not what is stated, they are lower, however the rates as stated are available on Quidco.
  22. uF0n's avatar
If you are already with Virgin can you switch to this without porting out first?
    uF0n's avatar
To answer my own question, and to possibly help others... I am still in contract with Virgin until Aug, but I showed a screenshot of this deal via Whatsapp chat and they moved me onto this 30 day contract (15GB data, £3.50 for 3 months, then £7).
  23. deleted2361622's avatar
This might help some. If you go through live chat they currently offer 100GB Data & Unlimited Calls/Texts for £12 (this was one of their last years Black Friday deals that is still available on their system) on a 30 day rolling contract. BUT you won't get 3 months half price and no cashback.

Also all Virgin Mobile customers will be migrated to o2 (starting from this month I believe) by the end of the year. You will get either double data (so this plan will be 200GB from 100GB) or unlimited. According to MoneySavingExpert anyone on a plan over 51GB will be moved onto an unlimited data plan (but I haven't found any other sources claiming this)

I am not a huge fan of the o2 network myself (data speeds in my area went poor) but I do appreciate their free 25GB EU roaming allowance. If this plan indeed becomes unlimited by the end of this year that's a banging deal unlimited data for £12. If not 200GB for £12 is also an amazing deal and even better on VOLT (if you have virgin media broadband) that will give you 400GB.

A lot of if's and when's in there. Surely better to play the hand you've got rather than indulge in crystal ball gazing?

Ordered a sim this morning set up my banking details the lot then it said error check back later so i did i logged back in then it said holding then half hour later it said order cancelled anyone got an idea why this happened i done order through top cashback if i try and order again will they have me on the system dont know what to do next as i have acc now all set up but no sim,
    WillPS's avatar
Surely asking VM would be more fruitful? Nobody on here has any sight of your account.

    Can no longer find it.

I've got the 15GB for £7 deal... just started new month and got 15GB + 20GB rollover, 35GB total... what's going on? Anyone else had this? Not yet had a message about moving to O2, but wonder if that's the reason?
