Take it down to 24mths contract
    Make price £400 to pay
Code takes it down to just £100 to pay
After sim removal price is £18.71 a month

Pretty good deal IF you can remove sim cost after 1 month?

If you are taking it to 24m - you can't cancel after 1 month as it will be 24m contract.

Astonishingly good cameras to the point that I'm not even going to add 'for a phone'. I haven't watched any reviews, yet, I'm just looking over samples and and videos, they don't look over sharpened or favouring excessive contrast and oversaturated colours to make the images 'pop'/Instagram-ready. Sure, a shade too much contrast, a shade oversaturated but good dynamic range, well controlled greens in scenes with a lot of foliage, appeared to be right up there with the Oppo Find X7 Pro and the Vivo X100 Pro, though to my eyes 4K video looked better than samples I've seen from either of those, on par with the iPhone 15 Pro Max, being smooth, almost filmic, would like to see a side-by-side comparison using the same subject matter. I would be getting it mainly for video.

Worried if I hit the review channels, something will put me off, making me think oh, if I just had a little more money, then - Probably I should just get an Honor 90 as a stopgap to something better a few years down the line, but I can't find anyone using a Gcam port/config file to tame its excessive contrast and I'm sure the sound quality via headphones with the Sony absolutely obliterates it, and pretty much any other phone out there, short of spending a lot more money.

Seems like a good price, couldn't find anything close, elsewhere in the UK.

Just to mention the deal in the OP appears subject to a credit check by O2 which I didn't expect.

I've just done that deal, used the code, thought when I saw the "Credit Check" section on the form that once I got to it, it would say that as it's a 30 day rolling pay monthly plan and the phone is being paid for upfront I wouldn't have to undergo one, but it appeared to perform a credit check. I evidently passed it, but just mentioning.

O2 Refresh is always due a credit check but probably quite a low bar as you're paying for the phone upfront and cancelling the airtime later. I think it's assumed so it isn't always mentioned now.

Very tempting. Need to replace my Xperia 5.

This phone got good reviews and this is a brilliant price for it, despite going from triple to dual cameras apparently the cameras are meant to be really good and an improvement over the IV.

I want to love Sony for what they're doing with this phone, but the point and shoot capabilities are terrible, I had a MK II and can concur. But if you take time to make shots they have great capabilities.

Can someone confirm whether this is correct:

    If I opt for upfront cost: £400, months: 24, monthly: £39.71 (£18.71 device + £21 airtime)
Add voucher, upfront cost: £100 + £39.71 monthly.

Ring up to cancel airtime and pay device in full, so that's £18.71 * 24 = 449.04
    With the £100 upfront cost, total is £449.04 + £100 = £549.04
    £549.04 + (initial one month airtime at £21) = £570.04 total cost

^^ That's what I was thinking, but I think it's what Saj. said, and that would be a 24mth contract. You need to buy outright to then be able to cancel, so it would be £549, plus one month "rolling sim" cost, then you own phone.

I think it is still the cheapest price new for this, as I had quick scan and couldn't find cheaper, so "cheap" way to buy phone, but you need to buy outright, no "price per month" to pay it up.

You could stick it on a credit card, pay monthly I suppose . . . (edited)

Thanks a good deal. I've ordered paying for phone in full with a £23 rolling sim which I will cancel after one month. So that's a £277 discount on a phone I was going to buy outright anyway. Also only got 3 months Disney which again I will cancel. I'm happy with that.

    How does the 10 V compare ?
    plewis00's avatar
It's ok but seems to be a very average mid-ranger with better options available. The 1 and 5 are pretty unique premium offerings in this current market.

    Undee choose your plan
    Select customise yout plan
Then underneath the £300 code, click on Pay for your device in full
    You should be good then.
