Heat added - Great price - I'm typing on an x270 ( previous model 7th gen i5) and its still a very capable little beast - light & small for mobile working, good battery and never had a problem in 4 years..
Display - no issues - bright enough for any normal office, 1920x1080 native and runs up to 2650x1440 on HDMI monitor so great for 24".

for £150 for general home/work use its a really great bargain (edited)

Exactly same, have two x270 amazing little machines for basic stuff, one runs with 16gb and second 12gb, replaced batteries and lasts now around 8 hours+, so very happy with them

Great machine at a great price. I know not everyone is comfortable getting refurbished laptops, but if anyone is in the market for a cheap laptop get this or similar every time.... There is a good chance it will outlast anything new under £300, and this machine will be way faster... Anything new near this price won't be very usable even for basic tasks.

Though one thing to note is the battery might not be great. Not checked but can probably be replaced ( though do check that) (edited)

1920 FHD screen, from a friend that's just had theirs delivered. I received the same last year when I ordered one for £143. (edited)

Great little laptop for general use. I bought one last year when it was discounted from £160 to £128.
Screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 which works perfectly well for me. I suppose it depends on what you want to use it for, but for me it is perfectly clear and bright enough, and I've never had a problem with the display. For a casual user, it's a delightful little machine, fast enough for me. The memory is not the biggest but I am now storing everything on the Cloud.
Good for browsing, emails, general MS Office use.
It was also listed as Grade B, but in fairness it was in excellent condition.
I'm absolutely delighted with mine. (edited)

Also ordered last year for £128 and along with many others I received a full HD screen (which was not mentioned in the description). It was also in excellent condition - very happy with it. (edited)

I doubt anyone with a budget of £150 is looking for a gaming laptop. These sell used for £200-225 on eBay, this is a very good price for a machine capable of meeting 90% of most users' needs and with the sterling 1y guarantee offered by itzoo. I and a few others have just received the 1080p screen version, mine looks almost new and the Windows 11 update was waiting when I logged into it.
Have some mega heat, OP. Thanks for posting.

Anyone know how old this is?

    2018 = x280 2017 = x270 etc

Seems an ookish deal but it does beg the question as to what's happened to ITZOO. Used to have lots of stock in most categories but zero in most for some time except for a few laptops and one tablet at the min. No base units, workstations or monitors that I can see.
    dcx_badass's avatar
    I asked them.

since December we have had a review of the approach to selling on ITZOO so that it is directed to private individuals rather than traders

we had found that trade customers were using us to fulfil their warranty obligations which had a significant impact on the viability of the shop

this has resulted in fewer items being listed and prices have been researched to match those offered by other on line sites
  8. nw104hh's avatar
Good price, but no mention of screen resolution, so most likely it's crappy, dim hd one i would personally avoid...
    vimar's avatar
Also, no ram sockets. It's a pass for me
  9. gdl's avatar
I've emailed to ask them about the screens and they say they don't know but they're likely to be 1366x768. I'm not prepared to take the chance
    G0rdonGekko's avatar
Returns are free, so worth the chance.

I ordered one a bit cheaper than this from them last year and received a FHD one.
  10. stinkybeard's avatar
Has anyone received yet? Are they FHD screens?

Just got mine, condition is excellent, you can see tiny marks if you hold it to your face and squint but that's not my intention with this particular product! Thanks OP, this will be great for some light home use

Must say I am very impressed with performance so far while setting up and doing some holiday shopping, this is really a dream for £150
  12. goldenshepherd's avatar
Received mine today- like new condition, so very pleased. Just waiting for win11 to download and install. Only thing is the screen resolution shows as 1366x768 and there doesn't seem to be a way of changing it. Am I the only one who received a non FHD unit? The driver for the display is showing as generic, so would updating help? Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks in advance
    dcx_badass's avatar
You could install lenovo vantage and let that sort out the lenovo specific drivers, probably once you're on win 11, but yeah it seems like you've probably not got the FHD screen unfortunately.

Done a few tweaks to mine, under sustained max cpu when running cinebench it was hitting 95°c max temp and throttling, cleaned off the thermal paste and used a Honeywell PTM7950 thermal pad (recommended on reddit, and lenovo use them on their gaming laptops). I was hoping for a performance increase with it not hitting the max temp so able to hold max speed for longer, sadly just a 1% boost in the cinebench score but the max temp is now 88°c so a 7°c drop and it doesn't get as hot during general use either so is a bit quieter, either way a success. You only need approx 20x10mm so the 80x40mm pad I bought was overkill but guess I have spares, I used rgeek store on aliexpress (have used them for PC cases in the past too).

I also added a second SSD in the empty WWAN slot. You need a B+M keyed NVME drive, there's not a huge amount of them, Western Digital do one, but I got a 512GB Kingspec from Aliexpress which works fine, the slot only runs at PCI-E 3.0 x1 and maxed out at about 850mbps so no real advantage to splashing out on a high end one. I guess you could just upgrade the main SSD instead, but I quite like having two drives anyway.

Down the line I'll probably upgrade the wifi to a AX210 Wifi 6E card for about £15, but I don't need to atm.

Also back in stock so I've unexpired this. (edited)
    badboy83's avatar
Hi just got my laptop today and fancy installing an extra drive. Can you please supply a link to the 512GB Kingspec SSD you got from Aliexpress. I have had a look but I'm worried that I may order the wrong drive.
    Thanks

For anyone else hovering over this like I have been for the last few days.

Ordered yesterday with the idea of returning if it was the 720p display, arrived today.

Excellent condition, 1080p screen, 90% battery health. Cannot complain at all so far for around £144 (with TopCashback)
    gdl's avatar
I've been on the edge of ordering one for a while now and your comment has finally tipped me over the edge. Order placed. Will return if it's not a 1080p screen though.

    Poor display. Fast though.

Every one of the these that I had broke with a Similar fault, the screen went black but was booting. Would happen after about a year when the warranty was up. Had 3 same issue on each. So after the third one I saved up a bit more and got a new different laptop for £250 and I've never had an issue with it. The 8 in it means it's from 2018.

Still rocking a x230 here with i5 8gb and omg lol pixels 768 display   Still use it all the time for onsite work image processing and document creation.
    stinkybeard's avatar
Same. I am in two minds about ordering one of these as I had a problem with the last one and had to return it.

The x230 just works and although the screen resolution is poor it is still nippy and does the job.
  20. Wenglish's avatar
Just ordered it thank you op

I am jinxed with these guys, either that or their standards are slipping.

Just received mine and it's not been cleaned, the ac adaptor is faulty and reporting as underpowered and they've sent a USA layout keyboard model.

My last two orders from them were similarly underwhelming. Prior to that all were spot on.
  23. poster74's avatar
I have bought from IT Zoo three times and I have to say their service is fantastic. Had an issue with battery not charging, very friendly and understanding on the phone and they sent me out a replacement. Apart from the battery issue, the x280 was in really good condition and original charged supplied.

I would definitely buy from them again, they do have have some good deals on sometimes, but its their service that sets them apart. I know others that have bought from them and had a similar, good experience
  24. far's avatar
Seems a good enough deal but the issue for me would be the screen. Apart from that, its hot!
    TrolleyDolly18's avatar
What about if you planned to run it through a big screen (50 Hz) Sony TV?.

Any one aware of T480/T480S at this price
    dcx_badass's avatar
I'm also waiting for the same, they had T480's at £186 last november but the deals have dried up since.
  26. jpleight's avatar
I bought one from them ,x260, still going strong, they are reliable and sending items back is not painful. Id buy again.
  27. spxak1's avatar
The L380 Yoga on ebay go for the same price, have a great FHD screen and upgradable RAM. Make sure it's an i5 (4core).
    j41sal's avatar
What the battery life between the one you mentioned or this one
  28. steveyboy79's avatar
Looks like a great deal. Does anyone know if the keyboard is backlit? Before anyone says, I have checked specs on Lenovo and ITZOO websites but it isn't clear. (edited)
    plewis00's avatar
Probably not as it doesn’t mention it, specifically, it might be a non-UK backlit keyboard that has been reprinted which negates the backlight.

But, easy and cheap to swap for a proper UK backlit keyboard if you need one.
  29. stinkybeard's avatar
I wonder if these have the overpainted keyboards.

They should really be upfront about that. They are fine, but, not everyone would be happy about it.
    plewis00's avatar
Probably does as it doesn’t mention backlit keyboard on this model and that’s usually why (it can be backlit but the backlight is useless when reprinted). Personally it doesn’t bother me, the reprint is good quality and better than a shiny or worn keyboard. You could email them first though, they are very helpful.

For those wondering how good the processor is, I've got a laptop with it and it is still pretty nifty running windows 11. Can do all the basics comfortably, and runs all office apps with no issues. I find it faster than my work laptop i7-11 series/32gb which is full of enterprise bloatware

Will this run the sims 3 or 4 with expansions?
Missus wants a computer just for the sims. I was looking at usff computers but maybe a laptop is a better idea considering the price.
    Any recommendations? Up to £150.
  33. ASGHAIZ's avatar
This is a cracking deal. This has been my daily driver for work last 3 years. Running windows 10 not had any issues with this machine at all.

If I didn't have a personal laptop already I would definitely get this.

Easily connects to other equipment through usb and usb c.

It around 10x cheaper in this deal than when it was first released!

Where on earth can you put the discount code in? No
Option/box anywhere even on checkout? Unless they have pulled it?
    ray.cheung's avatar
you can use the discount code on the right side of the check out page (below the amount)
  38. a15ha's avatar
Where on earth is the cart to even check out.
    G0rdonGekko's avatar
I'm guessing you're using Safari? Was driving my friend crazy when she was trying to buy. I didn't know what she was talking about until I tried it for myself. Literally no cart to be seen.

Cart is top right in Chrome and Firefox, both Windows and mobile versions.
