Read: 30MB/s
Write: 5MB/s

(note: slow, not as likely expected from layperson of 'USB3')

The specs suggest it is very slow:
Read speed (MB per second) 30
Write speed (MB per second) 5

One Amazon reviewer has Crystal Mark screenshot for the 128GB version suggesting read of 90MB/s and write 10MB/s (so perhaps 7hrs to fill the 256GB version, and 0.8hrs to fully read it all).

The 512GB version can be had for £22.95 from MyMemory (presumably similarly slow): mymemory.co.uk/int…tml

Instead, I'm repurposing my old SSDs using USB enclosures (£5). (edited)

Beware: This is not USB 3.0. It is USB 2.0. It has very slow read/write speed

It says 3.0 or 2.0 on amazon now so I presume if you click on the 3.0 you'll get the 3.0 version

    cheap for a reason

i have a 512GB version of this & it is extremely slow

the mymemory own brand versions which are not that much more expensive are somewhat faster & worth the extra cost

I'd argue that the Integral one will be using significantly better quality NAND memory chips, so although it is slower it will be far more reliable with a much higher MTBF!

Thanks, heat added and bought. I don't really need it but at that price it seemed rude not to . There seems to be quite a bit of misinformation about it. It is clearly marked as USB 3.0, Integral is a respectable company and I don't believe they'd put that on a USB 2.0 item. Amazon's reviews include different sizes and different spec. drives. It may not be super fast, but there is no way a modern branded USB 3.0 drive is going to have a write speed of 5MB/s, either that's a different drive or it's an incompetent reviewer. In the unlikely event that I'm sent a USB 2.0 drive I will have the option of returning it for a full refund, so there's nothing to be lost in my opinion.

Lmao (good luck) re "Integral is a respectable company and I don't believe".

USB 3 is just a connector spec (or at least in the way they are misusing it), not related to drive speed.

In this instance they are most likely using this deliberately to mislead customer by omission (based on customer assumption/expectation of USB3 entailing a faster drive) (including 'USB3 speed' type claims).

This is common (and in my view unacceptable) from retailers.

There is no reason to not show the speed of the drive on the spec page (be it ebay or amazon) and it's absence is always suspicious every single time! Let the customer know what they are buying so they can make a decision rather than a gamble. (edited)

These have a really slow write speed but probably ok for using to record off TV or use as a backup, heat for the price.

Ordered the 128GB version from here a couple of weeks ago, it broke after 3 days, they refunded very quickly and easily though but if you are putting data you care about on it I'd spend a few quid more for a better brand.

Mine arrived yesterday and I've done a few read and write tests (just sequential).
Test 1: For file sizes over 4KB the write speed varied from 20MB/s to 81MB/s, read speed: 61MB/s to 98MB/s.
Test 2 just gave overall figures: 29.3MB/s write and 86.0MB/s read.
So it's no speed demon and more expensive drives are capable of considerably better but for the price I'm actually very pleased. I'm not sure why Integral so vastly undersell the performance (unless the chip supply varies and they just quote the lowest possible figures).
