    I'd get a 7700, rather than go down in the core count, unless you decide that you don't really need 8 to begin with.

    IMO overall there aren't any major architectural differences between zen 3 5xxx and zen 4 7xxx. The uplift in performance comes from considerably higher clocks due to the newer manufacturing process and the use of DDR5. Of course being AM5 it will be upgradeable in the future where AM4 is at the end of the road. But i am waiting this gen out with my 5600. Maybe will look at the next one if it brings anything interesting and the prices of the mainboards and ram settle some more. (edited)

    190+140 for 7600 and B650m for a total of 330, I think that's pretty decent right now.

    Given that 7800x3D wouldnt put much price pressure on the lower end as it'll be better than the 7800X and non-X.

    With the recent 6000mhz cl36 Corsair 32gb ddr5. That's a total of 440.
    Sell the old mb combo for a rough 100

    That a pretty cheap upgrade considering 5 years ago i5s were 250+ with an OC-able MB being 150.

    I think Ram will hold their value for a few years yet. Since Chatgpt, AI and tech-ed out vehicles are all the hype still.

    Great price sadly now expired. I added this and an X670 motherboard to my basket and after putting in the discount code the prices had jumped up something silly. Checking back on their eBay shop it looks like they suddenly jacked up all the prices of components I’d been looking at. Shame as I’m not prepared to be gouged.

    It's subjective to what you require, it's not a solid yes overall....

    Want an amazing cpu for your AM4 rig? Then buy that.

    Want to upgrade? Then the new X3D chips are coming out. But price premium... and AM5 isn't really bang for buck atm.
