Feels like that smaller zipped compartment is a waste of space, why not make it the full height and width to maximise the allowance?
    BidAde's avatar
That's what I felt about this, slight waste of space.
I was also a little concerned about it not holding it's shape too well.
And I wanted easy access/protection for my laptop/1.2.9" ipad

So I ended up getting this one:
    amazon.co.uk/gp/…RZ/
Yes it's more but with some vac bags actually managed quite alot.
Also has the benefit of a bottle holder on the side (that took my sunglasses too)
Slid under the seat nicely, even though it looks huge fully packed.
Oh and the straps hide away/has a shoulder strap for a slightly less spoddy look (edited)

    Thanks OP for sharing.

Just bought one. Have a flight next week, hope it arrives on time, unlike Ryanair

Its the French Air traffic control i would be worried about. We spent an hour plus sat on the plane waiting to come home a few weeks back as well as a delay before departure.

Received mine today. Looks good, although there were a few loose threads around the bag. I did cut them off and hopefully I don't get any issues because of this. Aside from that, it does seem like I would be able to pack a fair amount into it to satisfy a long week away.

Can anyone recommend an Easy Jet alternative to this bag? Their carry on bag size allowance is slightly bigger at 45 x 36 x 20 cm

Thanks OP for sharing, just ordered for my trip.

    Shame no wheels
    Haircut_100's avatar
You don’t really need wheels on a backpack this size, and if they added wheels and a telescopic handle it would add to the weight. (edited)

Just remember this will need to go on the floor so if you are planning on only doing "free" luggage it will restrict your leg room.
    custommade07's avatar
Nothing stopping you putting it up above, never been told otherwise by cabin crew. And anyways can just tuck it underneath you after take off to use the legroom.

Is this a known/reliable brand? I’ve always just brought a standard rucksack on flights, much smaller than the limits to be safe, but would be interested in this (or similar).
    31220's avatar
As a brand I have known them for many years - 10+, but true to say they are not Samsonite etc but you'll pay much more for that , horses for courses etc... PS I am buying one !

Great find. Anyone got the 5% discount code they would share? Thanks

We just take a bigger rucksack but be sure not to fill it, tbh though nobody hassles you if travelling with a baby!
    dan.theman's avatar
Anyone fancy making a baby with me just to get one over Ryan air next summer ?

Hi all is this ok for BA flights ? Thanks

Has anyone bought the cabin max Metz before?

I like the look of it but I don't think it has a band on the back that can be mounted around your telescopic suitcase handle.

Perfect for my next travel 🧳

Anyone know of a bag of this size with wheels? Thanks
  15. whycantiusemyownnameffs's avatar
Shame they can’t all have the same sizing wouldn’t be too much to ask would it ?

I bought a bag for travelling a few years back based on the max spec allowed - the next year, all the airlines reduced the size.

So the next time I travelled, I bought another bag - and then they reduced the specs again!

Just be careful when buying these types of bags because they will be outdated within a few months - you know the airlines will continually reduce bag size until eventually we will just have to pay regardless.

Can anyone suggest the same price bag better than this if any ?
  18. Slick_uk's avatar
Ryanair haven't checked our bag sizes for years, however surprisnigly Easyjet did a few weeks ago
    tek-monkey's avatar
I watched them check a guy last month on the way to Riga, we had massively over sized bags but were let off with a wink as we had a baby I suspect. It's a bit odd, only a tiny bag allowed because of space but if you have a baby it sits on your lap and has it's own bag too that goes in the same space at your feet? It's only you it makes uncomfortable!

How many kgs is allowed? Bags looks a bit heavy side aswell
  20. woodburyboy1's avatar
Don't forget to take a a coat with deep pockets and fill them!
  21. mumihp's avatar
Thanks, Heat. I checked online, backup similar to this cost around £30+ and bags just with a strap, material looks pretty thing tbh, around £14 so this at £20 with 2 years is actually a good price. Brought 2 for me and my husband. There was no point buying the bigger easy jet bag as it be too big for other airlines and rather not risk it, read to many horror stories how people had to pay £50+ to check the free bag as a cabin bag.

Also, yes as woodburyboy1 said, wear a coat even though its war, where you are travelling, you can fill it with you gadgets, cables, socks even. Another thing my husband did was, he wore multiple tops and trousers and removed them at the airport or the plane toilets. So yes, wear your heavier bulky items, try to wear multiple tops if you can.

I recently bought this from Adidas outlet for £11 or £13 don’t remember. Build quality is excellent and I am sure I should be fine as long as I don’t load it.

Missus and I have been travelling with office laptop bags, Targus, Thinkpad etc. Never had an issue and we never overload it just take what is necessary for our 3-4 days stay. (edited)
