Don't buy one with a small paint holder. It's a messy business filling it every 5 minutes.

Do you need special paints for these?

Looking at the description, it would appear that you can use any number of different paints, including emulsion.

According to one of the reviews….

“Advertising the ttps550 and send out the ttps100 if you look at the bottom in product information it’s the ttps100 but all the pictures and descriptions are about the ttps550 “

Not sure if it’s true, but it did put me off. There’s lots of very negative reviews if you look closely.

I used one of these and the whole house was covered in fine paint dust for ages!

    Reasons?

I tried similar thing in past
It wastes more paint and the paint goes every where as it sprays not ideal for indoor
Unless y don’t mind the dusty paint everywhere

This wastes so much paint. Pretty much only good for a fence or perhaps a shed (when disassembled) before putting it together. Used it once and got rid of it.

I did my kitchen doors. You just water the paint down. It was easy but the head needed cleaning quite often. For the price tho..

Thanks OP. Ordered, and heat added.

Used to paint my fences - took 1/4 of the time - was plenty spray in the air but was able to control. Cleanup was simple and quicker than expected (edited)

More times cleaning the head than painting.

    And masking the room!

Would this be good for painting cornices only

Would this be any good for painting the inside of a garage (breeze block) ?
    Erko's avatar
Yes but you will get overspray everywhere

    Nice.

Agree with all the comments. After my experience, I would only use outside or in a bare room with no furniture.

No you need a much finer spray pattern for auto work. This will splutter and spit and overall give you a poor finish
