Where do they refine their oil?

At the refinery. ... In all seriousness I expect it's at Stanlow.

To be fair it's a good price(Should have been lower a lot sooner) It's almost like we can't blame Russia anymore
    gg1pl's avatar
100% nothing to do with Russia and supposedly an increase in wholesale prices.

Strange that profits have doubled to record levels as they charged us record prices, almost as if they used the war as an excuse to gouge consumers

All backed by the Selfservatives, £100k bribe by boss of BP to ensure pump, energy bill and taxpayers pay the price increase instead of taxing billions of record windfall profits or reducing their CEO buddies bonuses

Shop at Lidl or Aldi the supermarkets are just shafting us.
    herrbz's avatar
Lidl and Aldi have increased their prices the most

If one can do it , they can ALL do it!
    RIP OFF BRITTAIN!

Oil barrel price is now lower than pre Covid19 prices so we SHOULD be paying less than £1.20 a litre for diesel!
  5. sb1876's avatar
Still £1.60 near us, shows how much profit they are continually making. Ridiculous really!
    jase.2's avatar
Yep and they do it because people still go to the supermarkets even when they have cheaper independents in the area so why drop it when fools pay it

or buy a Tesla and ‘full’ up for £3 overnight and get 300 miles
    gummy_bear's avatar
Lend us 40k then, for most people electric cars are too expensive to buy im running around in a 2k 2011 plate diesel still getting 600miles to tank very much doubt I'd get 50miles on batteries of 12 year old

I paid 1.45 in Costco and i thought that was cheap.. what a deal this is!
  8. ibbster911's avatar
Damn filled up there at 1.35 for diesel last week and they go one better .
Awesome garage and worth the 20 mile round trip for a 77 litre fuel tank thanks OP for rubbing it in (edited)

This deal just shows how much of a ride we're being played. What next 99p a litre during Xmas?

It was 1.34 there on Monday, it's a shame I don't live locally!

    Cheap for a decent aftershave

I was just about to update my listing. It's been manic today and so busy. I'm popping out in half an hour just before it shuts because it was still queueing an hour ago.

Coronation fuel, what next? Coronation discount on holidays to Hawaii.

I think it was around £1.20 a litre before the prices started to go mental. The lowest I've seen diesel in my local area is currently £1.52 at Tesco. It's really annoying how they are blatantly taking the mickey with prices. (edited)
  14. Mooney_70's avatar
There's a gulf station near me in heckmondwike that doesn't sell fuel anymore. But for some reason they still display their prices which were £1.25 for petrol and £1.28 for diesel. So they haven't sold it there for over 2 years I reckon.
  15. rainer1's avatar
    1.59 here

Yep, EG taking over Asda was the worst thing being allowed by the CMA. How they ever thought that was a good idea for fuel prices I don’t ever know? Asda never drop their prices to a national price anymore so other supermarkets don’t follow now. These days it’s supermarkets and others only following independents it seems!
  17. DingIs's avatar
jeez... that price compared to here its almost worth driving the 130 miles down there to fill up!
  18. World's avatar
Well that’s not very coronation celebratory of them, are they trying to defund the new King? (edited)
  19. fishmaster's avatar
Mental pricing. I will have to get up early as it gets absolutely rammed on the weekend, big queues.
  20. Little_Casper's avatar
My local Tesco is 135 atm.
    Bdn88's avatar
    For diesel, are you sure?
  21. mikejbry's avatar
My local in North Somerset is still £1.59 or so....
  22. digweed's avatar
Down in Bournemouth its still 148.9 for petrol and 167 for diesel
  23. micky123Romeo's avatar
Passing at Tesco Lewisham and filled my car with petrol only £1.40 so is cheap cheap cheap
    JoShmo's avatar
You filled your car with 1 litre?
  24. kremix's avatar
Still 1.7 for Diesel at my local shell in sevenoaks
  25. tapi's avatar
Is this an Essar deal or specific station?
  26. energy80s's avatar
Prices near me (in Northern Ireland) are around £1.43 for diesel and maybe a penny or two less for petrol in various outlets. Although diesel has come down a lot, petrol hasn't. You'd nearly think they were using one to subsidise the other!
    ST30's avatar
Paid £1.419 for diesel at Go Buncrana road last weekend
  27. herrbz's avatar
Phew, I was worried we wouldn't have an Essar fuel post this week.
  28. jasondungate90's avatar
    £1.46 in Lincoln
  29. paulde2007's avatar
Get it whilst you can. This amount of subsidies can't continue to lower the price for long
  30. stephenpulley1956's avatar
The prices of diesel is criminal I think the supermarkets must be making more profit than the oil company.
  31. Sephiroth's avatar
Costco charging 1.48 near me. Total ripoff but cheapest in the area. Should be around 1.20 right now with the fall in oil price, climbing exchange rate and the 6p off in duty.

Oil companies still clawing back lost revenue from 2020 and 2021 by inflating prices over the past year.
