You do not need to pay if you:
  • get free UK vehicle tax because of a disability (your vehicle will be checked automatically when you cross)

    Some are only "free" if you PAY an admin fee costing more than a crossing... It's disgusting, a blue badge (which also have to pay for) should be your pass.

    The issue is that the criteria isn't possession of a blue badge. It's the exception from road tax that requires certain type of vehicle.
