    Although price point is similar, strictly speaking one is not comparing like with like because TCL has Android GO while this one has Android 10 out of the box. All I will say is that TCL is 2023 release while Redmi 9AT was released back in 2020, make what you will. Anyway here is the link for gsmarena compare for what it's worth 🔗

    I got one of these for £50 last year. I use it exclusively as a Music Player when I'm out running. It's great for that but as a 'senior citizen' it's too slow for me as a primary phone. I recently added a 2 year RWG mobile package for £35 so it can be used as a back-up. Perfick.

    Need to get my dad something reasonably basic like this but perhaps a little better future proofed so 4gb Ram+.

    He's still rocking a 3310 but needs/wants something with a camera and not a massive 6.5'' beastly handset. Any ideas? My mum and I have a budget of £100. tia

    If you value your sanity, do NOT buy this phone!
    Both of my parents had them, but Android updates over the years has made them virtually unusable.
    Anything takes an age to open, even the camera app, and then you have to hope it doesn't crash (which is does, a lot).

    Full Android (i.e. not 'Go') with only 2GB of RAM really does not work.
    Even having 3GB RAM makes a fair improvement as we tried an Oppo A15 for a while and it was so much quicker than this.

    Got my Mother a Poco M4 pro last year, so she's a happy bunny. Am now looking for a replacement for my Fathers 9AT.

    Spend a little more and get something with more RAM and a newer CPU, you really will not regret it.
    If you can't go much more than £60, get something 2nd hand instead that's a bit better. (edited)
